Having had a wonderful experience in my youth with braces, I knew exactly where and who to turn to if ever thinking of doing more orthodontic work- Dr. Dona M. Seely. Ready and wanting to fix the perfect smile I had after having braces years prior; I called and was greeted with open arms by Lucy who had no problem adding me into the schedule. Not having been into the office in some time it nonetheless felt like home. Walking in and knowing the staff, being able to chat and have rapport, along with the feeling that these individuals have been supporting and helping me to get my perfect smile since day 1 is something I will forever be grateful for! Be aware of this place. They are all about the money. I had an invisible line here. It took me almost 2yrs. But that is not the problem; during that period, they charged me for everything overpriced, but I did not say anything because I wanted my teeth to come out beautifully. The owner continued to try to make me believe that the insurance paid $117 so I don't have to. This is misleading and fraudulent. The insurance claim is on my lifetime $2000 quota. That means if they claim $117, then I can claim $117 less in the following treatment, thus I have to pay $117 more later. My orthodontist insurance quota was only $1883 after Dona Seely's claim, and I had to pay the $117 back to my next orthodontist. So the cost from Dona Seely was still $314 out of my pocket. The owner's reply clarified my misunderstanding on the X-ray part, but didn't address other key points that led me to leaving a negative review: 1. The planning of treatment is an essential part of the first consultation, and every other orthodontist gives it for free. How come it cost so much in this place? 2. We were not informed in advance that this consultation was not free, especially that it costed so much. We're not objective to pay premium fee if their treatment plan is particularly good, but not without any prior notice. Again, my wife and I have experienced at least 7 other orthodontists, and we all assumed first visits being free without any issues. The orthodontist I actually chose eventually was also surprised that Dona Seely's first insulation was not free. In addition, 10 months later and I still keep receiving spam emails from them. read more

My son recently completed his +2yr treatment with Dr. Seely and we couldn't be happier. The staff was consistently friendly and scheduling was a breeze. Her office is in a great location, we never had a problem with traffic even though it was on the perimeter of downtown Bellevue and there was always ample parking. My son had an issue with crowding but instead of extractions Dr. Seely recommended an expander which allowed my son to keep a full smile and gain the room he needed. She definitely knows her stuff. Dr. Seely was recommended to me by my primary care physician, and boy am I glad she did. I live 3 blocks from a local orthodontist, but travel 25 miles to see Dr. Seely. She and her staff are extremely skilled and personable. Unfortunately I was not a candidate for Invisalign. I had to go with old school braces. Dr. Seely starts by taking hi-tech imagery and uses it and other diagrams and models to fully explain the plan for your treatment. Initial application of the braces went smoothly, as do the monthly visits for adjustments, which admittedly can be a bit painful (be sure to take you pain killer of choice beforehand). That's going to happen with anyone you go to and passes pretty quickly. I'm extremely pleased with Dr. Seely and her team and urge you to check her out should you need braces/Invisalign. read more

I had a really great experience with Dr. Seely and her team! Previously, I tried Invisalign and it got me 85% of the way there. I really needed adult braces to fix my bite (those rubber bands really get things moving). After finding the office online, my initial consult was quick and we discussed the trade-offs. My treatment lasted 1.5 years and you really engage with everyone that works at the office. Dr. Seely is very detail-oriented, and truly loves the art and science which I appreciate. Becky ensures that your dental journey is off to a solid start with high-tech x-rays, and also ensures you have the right products to maintain (the toothbrushes they recommend are definitely worth it). It's amazing how quick you can get your diagnosis! Vickie is efficient at and knowledgeable on making your adjustments as pain-free as possible (take the pain killers beforehand) - she had so much patience and made me laugh getting through some of challenges. I know I'm not the easiest patient. Lucy keeps your schedule moving along. I highly recommend this team and wouldn't have changed anything except my own personal decision to get ceramic brackets. Vanity got the best of me, but looking back, I should have totally gotten the metal version - I had to stop drinking red wine for 1.5 years! As an adult patient with a complex case, I just finished the orthodontic treatment with De Seely, and can say that the results are well above my expectations. I'm fully satisfied. De Seely is a perfectionist who pays attention to every detail. At her office, she is the only person "bending the wires"... so while her assistant is great, you have the Dr's attention all along. This was one of the selling points for me when looking for an orthodontic Dr, as many seem to let their assistant do most of the job once you have your braces on. I met multiple orthodontists before picking Dr Seely, and it's clear I made the right choice. Dr Seely over-delivered on the timing too, as I finished in 1.5 years, but was told to expect 2 to 2.5 years of treatment - I was lucky my teeth moved fast. Before I went to Dr. Seely I looked at several Dr's and none were right until I met Dona. My smile and bite were, and I say this with no exaggeration, horrifying. From the first visit it was obvious that she had all the skill and experience required and more to tackle the challenges of my smile. But what really got me is the passion and commitment for her craft is high and unwavering and it radiates throughout her office and staff. If you have dental phobias as I do you can put those to rest. To the young clients she is like an Aunt you want to hang out with and to the adults a pal you'd like to have coffee with.
