It was easy to schedule appointments, especially if there is an emergency - they were always able to get me in on the same day. It was mainly for wires poking into my cheeks since your teeth move during the process so it's normal. I was able to schedule appointments at the beginning or end of the day since that worked better with my schedule. I'd go in about every 4-6 weeks each time for adjustments. The doctors and staff are all friendly and nice. For potential customers, I would avoid getting crowns prior to getting braces. Chances of needing to redo crowns are high.. at least for my own experience. When they take off your brackets or metal bands (usually on molars), they might chip your crowns with their tools. Crowns are not cheap so save yourself some money and stick with fillings until you're done with your braces if possible. Overall I'm very happy with my newly aligned teeth! Today I had 3 very old and cracked fillings replaced and needed a crown. I do not like Novocain. In the past I've found the injection worse than the procedures. Dr. Nomi is magic. I barely felt it. After that, the worst part was the chair. if that had been comfortable, Id give 7 stars. There was a lot of drilling and scraping required and it was fine. They were gentle. The assistant was on top of it all and I liked the repore and respect between them. They discussed what they were doing and they were efficient despite one difficult to remove filling. I was also pleased that I didn't have to listen to terrible office music! Maybe that is my favorite part of this dental office. I also believe they were as conservative as they could be considering my mouth is filled with 40 year old silver fillings. The front desk staff also spent a lot of time helping me figure out payments and what was and was not covered. I finally found a dentist with years of experience, a gentle manor, an excellent staff, and a convenient location. They were able to get me in very soon after my initial visit. I'm on the hunt for a new dentist after my last dental experience left me with an infected mouth. I…read morethought I would give Newcastle Dentistry a try. Bluntly I found Newcastle Dentistry warm and cold. Dr. Rosanna and her dental assistant were the warm aspects. I thought they were great for the little time they saw me. I was a bit surprised to find their x-ray machine was a bit inadequate. The last office I went to was able to x-ray all my teeth. This one's machine was unable to. The dental hygienist was cold. At first she was friendly, even complimented my teeth, but then seemed to become very irritated when I told her I rarely flossed. She went from friendly conversation to being very short and snappish. I also didn't care for the layout. It basically is the assembly line format - a line of chairs separated by dividers. I could hear everything going on around me, all the drilling, all the motors whirling. It did not comfort me. Upon checking out I was reminded how much I missed my old dental office's office staff. They weren't great at anything else but I always left with a cheery goodbye. The receptionist here barely said two words and it was enough that I opted not to schedule a follow up appointment.
