Brought my husband who had injured his back and was in severe pain, (A patient of Dr. Dougherty) I had dropped him off close to the entance and then parked. When I entered the office he was being seen, the receptionist asked Can I help you?" I said "No thank you, Im waiting for my husband." As I went to sit down She says again this time very Sharp and Nasty, "Can I help you!?" I again said "Im waiting for my husband" She was so nasty, I just went and sat in my car. I texted my husband to let me know and I will pull around and pick him up after his appointment is finished. There wasn't a sole in the reception area at the time. When his apt was over he told me the Dr. Treated him like some drug addict since he was taking pain medicine, just mentioning it he immediately had an attitude and never really got past that with any treatment plan. My husband has had back surgery a year prior and is obviously reluctant to go thru surgery again. He was NOT there for a pain medicine prescription! This Dr. Was lacking in compassion and knowledge of his patients history, obviously and quick to judge. My husband has since seen another Doctor who prescribed steroids, rest and a follow up if he doesn't improve. He is starting to improve and has been off the pain meds except for advil since. Would NOT recommend this Facility! Doctor Michael Dougherty needs some compassion training and should look at his patients file prior to visits so he has a clue who he's talking to. First visit received EKG and Dougherty told me "I could die tomorrow!" and also told me my Lisinopril was the cause. Followed up with a cardiologist and he said that was as far from the truth as possible. Also, in 2022 told him about a hard lump I could feel in my neck as to which he said "oh, I am not worried about that." Fast forward to September 2025 - ENT doc has scheduled me for surgery to remove that lump which has grown to be visible on the outside of my neck. Worst Physician ever! DO NOT TRUST. read more

I saw Dr Dougherty at the beginning of 2023. Seemed to be a nice enough person ,but soon enough the red flags started flying. First red flag , was that he wouldn't refill naproxen ,which is an over-the-counter medication that I've been on for years for my arthritis. I just can't get that same dosage over the counter. Second red flag ,was no one ever answers the phone. And if you do go into the office, you will see the girls at the counters texting away on their cell phones. During my second visit with this doctor, I inquired as to why some of my specialists with my health insurance we're leaving ,And I asked him if he was going to be leaving Devoted Health, and he told me that no he would not be. He said that specialists work differently and are paid differently than primary care physicians. He told me that it didn't matter to him if he had one patient a day or 200 he still gets paid the same. Another red flag. I actually had to ask him to refer me to a rheumatologist because I was feeling very tired and when I went to see this rheumatologist, I was told that I needed to be given vitamin B 12 shots by my primary care doctor, and he refused to give them to me. he told me that I need to go see an endocrinologist and when I called them, they asked me if my doctor had done any of the necessary testing to see if I need to see an endocrinologist i.e. bloodwork for thyroid or diabetes. I told them no he had not, and they told me that that needed to be done prior to scheduling an appointment with them, or it would be a waste of everyone's time. How embarrassing is that? The endocrinologist even told me that my primary care could order the shots through my Pharmacy and I can do them at home myself if he didn't want to do them. That's the second or third specialist that has told me that my primary care isn't doing their job properly . I have reached out to him,and the only thing he says to me is, he doesn't feel comfortable prescribing medication's , And that that's why he sends me to specialists. I have had to find my own specialist for almost every referral I have needed. Then I message Dr Doughertys office to let them know I found a Dr that takes my insurance, and then get them to give the referral. I have wasted so much time and energy on all of this. Not to mention how awful the office staff is. They never know what's going on ,they can't find faxes. They never answer the phone and they just plain don't seem to know what they are doing. I had an ear infection for over four months waiting for a referral. I am also on a very important medication that regulates my pancreas. When I tried to call this medication into Walgreens it was denied, and again the reason being given is that he doesn't feel comfortable giving out medication's and that I need to go see an endocrinologist. I told him the endocrinologist do not specialize in the pancreas. He did not respond back to that statement. Even medication's as simple as clobetasol, which is for dry, itchy, scalp he will not prescribe. Says I need to see a dermatologist. Little does he know apparently ,that the waiting list to get in to see a dermatologist in Florida ,Can be months away. I do have that appointment set up, but I don't understand why until then ,he could not continue to give me my medication's. In my experience ,the only reason you need a primary care physician is for referrals and to refill your medication's. And if you are lucky, you find a Dr that checks up on you, and helps to monitor your health.. He does none of that, so I ask, how is he even a doctor?I could go on and on, but I am sure my message has been conveyed . I just wanted to let the public know that if you're looking for a friendly conversation, this doctor is your guy, but if you actually have health issues and concerns , and are on medications, as I am, he's absolutely not the doctor to go to. He only wants to do the bare minimum. Unfortunately for me the bare minimum isn't going to cut it. My health is important to me as I'm sure it is to most people, and I hope that this review can help others. read more
