My kids came here a few times. This place is awesome for kids. Of course they are their main customers, and it really shows through their interactions from their awesome staff. The office, waiting area, and dental procedure office has all the makings of being 'kid friendly'. Heck, they even have TV's on the ceiling with cartoons running all the time. And chocolate flavored toothpaste? Where do I get some for myself?! For sure the interaction with Dr. Garrett is very brief, but his guidance in picking his staff is outstanding. His dental assistants and desk receptionists are the best. I almost want to say that making ballon animals must be a requirement when applying to become a staff member....lol. And as a reference: BOTH my kids when writing this review (2019) are 6 years old and 4 years old. Do they have any fear about going to see the dentist? I believe they DID, but that was before, I really don't think they have any fear now, and IF they do, it magically gets wiped away by the interaction with the staff. Awesome work! read more

Dr Garrett is overall great. His staff on the other hand are quite questionable. They don't accurately review insurance coverage. They will bill you for a service they assume is covered under your insurance policy months later then will deny service until paid in full. This a complete scam and patients should not be responsible for the billings departments inaccuracy when verifying coverage. Then they go tell you it's patience responsibility when in reality it should be their responsibility as well to make sure the patience is paying the accurate amount when it comes to service. read more

THE BEST PEDIATRIC DENTIST EVER! We have been with Dr Garrett for over 4 years. I take both my girls to Dr. Garrett for all their cleanings and treatments if needed. I used to take them to Kidscare Dental but stopped cuz I felt the doctor and the staffs would always try to sell me out. Telling me that my kids needs this and that treatments. So crazy! It just sounds so unrealistic cuz I used to take my kids to kids are dental every 6 months for their cleaning and my kids always brush their teeth. I would never have a good feeling every time we leave their office and the treatment plans. I'm so glad we found Dr Garrett! I honestly suggest everyone reading the reviews before bringing your being kids here. My brother had a lot of trust in this dentist and after the last experience (see photo) he wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and bring his son back. Now he totally regret that he didn't listen. The other reviews mentioned there same issues we experienced. The crown he placed on came off and now he's refusing to fix it. As a pediatric dentist you should really consider the age group you are working with and be more understanding. I am overjoyed with the patience and professionalism every person that works here has. The second you walk your greeted by name which I love . The kids have books and tablets to play on . We love Dr. Garrett! We first met him at a different office where he pulled my son's teeth for orthodontic purposes. They were done two Xmas breaks in a row. Tough time for a kiddo to get his teeth pulled, but each time, Dr. G made it a fun experience. Let me repeat that. A fun experience. He was hilarious and he just knew how to work with the kids! We had no issues related to the surgery at all! To our sadness, Dr. G left the mentioned practice and we were treated like another number. I think it was a sign a few months ago when my son and I left the dentist office, feeling exasperated and wishing Dr. G was still at this office. On our way out to the Main Street, we saw the sign for Dr. Garrett Pediatric Dentistry. Could this be it?! Could this be our Dr. G?!? I called the office and sure enough, it was the same Dr. G whom we love! My daughter just had her visit at Dr. Garrett's new office and as expected, we had a great experience. Wait time: less than 10 minutes and just enough time to fill out paperwork. Clinic: tons of fun things for the kids to do. Nicely decorated to give kids all the stimulation they need, but soothing enough for parents. My daughter asked if we could get the soft chair she sat on during her exam! Staff: friendly. and he DOES IT AGAIN! I can't help it but give another review to Dr. Garrett and his team. My two oldest has been seeing Dr. Garrett since 2018 and they love him. My youngest who is now 5 remembers him and is always excited to go in. This is usually not the norm when kids hear about their upcoming appointment to see their dentist. My daughter needed 3 fillings in one day but instead of rushing to get all 3 done at once, Dr. Garrett and I agreed that we'll see how things go with the first filling. Although it would have been great to have all 3 of her fillings done and situated in one day, I'm thankful Dr. Garrett noticed that in my daughter's case (she has a hard time sitting still for a procedure) we only did 1 filling at a time. She has an upcoming appointment to finish the other 2 fillings in October and lately, all I'm hearing is, "are we going back to see Dr. Garrett yet? I'm going to show him my sparkly teeth." I forgot to add that she enjoys going to the dentist so much that she drew a picture for him but forgot to take it to the office so it's saved for the next time that she sees him. Also, Dr. Garrett referred by 11 year old for braces and I'm glad he did. If we had waited any longer, the heavy work load of braces on my son could have been drastic. read more

My 7 year old had me do my research before she trusted anyone to work on her mouth :p Many reviews and recommendations later we chose Dr Garrett. We are glad we did! Wait time has only been a few minutes both times we have gone. The visits are always super friendly and quick. Dr Garrett goes over the X-rays and explains the recommended treatments. He showed a few tools to my daughter and even let her hold them. My daughter had to have a capped molar extracted and a spacer put in to keep her surrounding teeth in place for the future permanent molar to grow in. The procedure was very relaxed and very quick! Less than 30 minutes we were in and out. Dr Garrett and his staff create a friendly, funny and calm atmosphere leaving kids confident to handle the current and future procedures. My daughter had a cavity the size of a pen tip.We saw several dentist for this and ultimately picked Dr Garrett because he seemed the most confident in filling the tooth. His price was higher by 20% but I was willing to spend the additional money because he made me feel confident in the work he was going to provide. The initial filling lasted 3 days. Within a 3 month period she had her tooth fixed by this office 3 times. Finally he decided that these fillings don't work for children of this age and has completely stopped fixing them. Awesome right? He realized what he provided to my family at a 20% higher cost than other dentist in Elk Grove doesn't actually work. I requested a refund because I did not receive the services I paid for and to top it off a portion of her tooth is gone from all the times "fixing" the initial filling they chiseled away at the tooth. No other dentist has interest in fixing my daughters tooth due to what is now left. What was once the size of a pen tip is now the size of a pen cap. No refund, waste of money, traumatized my daughter due to the frequency of the visits and now I have to find someone else to fix this! read more

Went there with 3 of my daughters (5, 4, and 2 years old) and they all liked the place. I like the decor, and they made good use of their limited space. All 3 of my kids were occupied, playing and having fun. Classical music was playing all along, making it a relaxing atmosphere all together. The staff is very friendly, and I am really glad they made it truly a "kids dental." Cleaning and brushing went well, even my 2 year old finally let them do the cleaning. Wow. I feel very disappointed in the work they had done for my child. I brought up my concerns and felt the dentist responded in a very non genuine manner. My daughter can't event close her mouth normally. After going to her regular dentist, I was reassured that the size of the crowns placed on my child's teeth where too large, not to mention the color difference is so bad that she is embarrassed to smile. sadly my daughter has such severe anxiety that she needs to be under general anesthesia and her teeth are still ones that will fall out. We recently were referred to Dr.Garrets office for alot of work to be done on my 7 year old son's mouth. This office is incredible! Dr. Garret and his staff are truly amazing. Dr. Garrett is a wonderful Pediatric Dentist here in the Elk Grove/Sacramento area. He has treated my son for multiple cavities that needed to be treated. He spends quality time with each of his patients . I love the fact that he is very conservative with dental treatment. He explains everything step by step not only to the us but to our child as well. My son was very comfortable and for only being 6 years old he was able to complete all his treatment: 8 cavities in 4 visits. Please Read!! Dont go to Dr Garrett EVER! He wanted to do several crowns and root canals on my child who was only 5 years old at the time. When I told him I felt that was a lot of work to do on such a small child with only baby teeth and that I only wanted fillings done. He was not happy with that and said if I didnt agree to all of it he wouldnt do any of it, I took that as he wanted the money more then what was safe and best for my child. I was so taken a back I agreed he wouldnt be touching my child with his ridiculous recommendation of all that work on baby teeth. It would have been several thousand dollars!!! Ended up going to another dentistry called surfside kids in elk grove who were fantastic and said my child only needed a couple fillings, No crowns & No root canals needed and it would only cost a few hundred dollars. I took my mildly autistic son to Dr. Garrett, he had his teeth cleaned and had his 1st cavity filled. Dr. Garrett and his team are amazing. They all came out to say hi to him. Played with the toys with him and let him walk Chucky the dog!! For my son he felt at home with friends. He was nervous about getting his cavity filled and hide behind me. Everyone gave him a hug and when he saw Chucky the dog he was not nervous anymore. If Dr. Garrett saw adults I would see him too! Dr. Garrett and staff are the kindest most welcome dental/doctor office I have ever walked in. Dr. Garrett clearly cares about children and makes their dental experience fun and exciting instead of the usual scary feeling for kids. Our first visit my son was crying because "the dentist is scary" after meeting Dr. Garrett he talks about loving the dentist and on our second visit was hopping and skipping in with excitement. The staff is so welcoming and kind. Everyone is smiling and great with kids. The office is clean and decorated so cute. I would give more stars if possible! Our last visit they squeezed us in day of. My 4 year old son has always had a difficult time with appointments at their previous dentist . Resisting X-rays and cleanings. Dr. Garrett is a great pediatric dentist. I've only seen him twice but that's already enough for me to be amazed. He's very kind, educated, and patient. On my 3 yr old son's last appointment, he was able to put a crown on one of his molars. Kids Care gave up on my son because he's uncooperative, while Dr. Garrett was successful.
