Until I met Mae at Rehab Specialist Inc. I was pleasantly surprised during my first assessment appointment with Mae. She is personal, sensitive but strong and extremely knowledgeable in her field. She cared that I really understood what was going on, why I had the pain, why we were doing certain movements or what she was assessing. My first appointment was around Christmas/new years and they were able to fit in me quickly for the initial exam. I saw a few different people at first and just booked whoever was available, but started to book Ron and Ephraim since their time and availability always seemed to work with my schedule. I could definitely feel my knee/leg getting stronger and was often sore (in a good workout kind of way) and they never pushed me when I couldn't complete any sets. They really listened to feedback when I was sore and had pain and adjusted the entire workout around my feedback as well as the post workout treatment. I had a great experience with everyone including the front desk which was great with providing the receipts I needed for my hsa/fsa claims. Hopefully I won't be a repeat patient, but i won't hesitate to use them again if needed.

Before I found her, I was always told to just stop running to fix the issue, no one ever gave me an awnser like her. Through the consultation, she did several test(s) to determine that for my knee issue specifically, it was happening because I lacked quad strength (& that it's fixable!!) I will never forgot how happy and hopeful she made me feel. After that appointment, I also took strength classes with her which helped solidly the discipline and importance of strength training in my routine. Even after I stopped training with her, she always checked in with me to see how I was doing and let me know about the programs she had to offer over the summer such as her summer training program and several plyometric classes. Which btw I did both! And they are amazing! The summer program kept me in check with my training and goals, and the plyometric classes were a fun learning experience. Even after the programs/classes are over Dr.Jess was kind enough to provide us with the tools to succeed for after. Ive also done the running analysis (the video) and I thought it was interesting to learn about my running form, as well as information on how I can approve it. To conclude, Dr.Jess is amazing. I was originally referred to PT West by a family friend when I was looking for a new clinic. It is always great to have a personal referrence. Lucky for me, the location is very close to where I live, and I'm so glad that I found it. The first time that I was a patient, I had been given a particular diagnosis after an MRI. I was dealing with bad pain and came to PT West for several weeks without much improvement. I was doing everything that I was told to do, but there was no improvement. Well, my great physical therapist thought that maybe my diagnosis wasn't the cause of the issue after working with me, and it was suggested getting a second opinion. My second treatment regimen at Ho Rehab Center was just as successful as my first!!…read moreMy first experience was about 2 years ago for spinal stenosis. 20 sessions of some intense therapy combining heat, ultrasound and muscle strengthening around my upper body brought total and continuing relief from the tingling and numbness in my left arm. I'm asymptomatic. Recently, hip pain was diagnosed with a decrease in joint space and arthritis and instead of expecting suggestions of hip replacement surgery the doctor suggested physical therapy. It took 30 visits to relieve the arthritic pain in my right hip. Again, combinations of heat, ultrasound and very directed exercises to strengthen surrounding support muscles. Everyone in the office is professional and caring. Dr. Der-How Huang leads a team of highly skilled therapists who seem to work so well together. I rang the discharge bell as I left today!
