A bit of a cattle show. Here's what you don't learn until you're already in the program:…read more1. Scheduling is a pain. They cap you at 3 scheduled visits at a time, but even slots 6 weeks out have almost no availability (sometimes just one per day). If you have a school-aged kid, that means pulling them out at 10am for a 2-hour visit, because afternoon slots rarely exist and a 2-week gap quietly becomes a 3-week gap to the next updose. This docked 2 stars 2. Expect to wait. They overbook constantly, which means sitting in a busy, hectic waiting room for up to an hour. For $600 a visit, you'd think they could assign you a room for the duration. What's especially ironic: they're placing allergic kids in a waiting room where other kids are dropping crumbs everywhere. They really should know better. This docked 2 stars. 3. Staff assumes you know more than you do. They run so many patients through that the onboarding feels almost rote. You have to ask to be walked through basics, like how to use the scale or what the actual treatment plan looks like. We had multiple allergies and didn't learn the full plan until our third visit. No one told us upfront what we were and weren't being treated for. 4. The 24-hour helpline is an answering service. They explicitly tell you not to expect a callback within 30 minutes. Fine with us. Just a heads up for future patients. I don't think you can expect them to pick up your call immediately (go to the ER!) One doctor, a team of nurses, clearly optimizing for volume. Worth checking out Columbia or another clinic with more streamlined processes. They were generous with the snacks, though, so I am grateful.

About a year ago I was in my kitchen having the time of my life playing with my daughter. She's my…read morefirst child and everyone goes through that learning curve with first kids. I pull out a piece of cheese casually and we're laughing and playing and she's eating a little piece, then my heart sinks.. her face starts looking different, and hives just cover all over her chin. I've never had a food allergy in my family, and I have no idea what to even do. We're terrified and talk to our pediatrician but unsurprisingly, the best answer is just to keep introducing new things and test. Unfortunately the next reaction that happened was to peanuts and I think the fear you feel when you see your child unable to speak, go through a reaction to a food YOU gave them is indescribable. You store those reactions internally and food stops being this fun adventure and turns into anxiety and bracing for more reactions. A couple months later we were on the phone with the lovely receptionist Miss Savannah, explaining the guilt of not feeling confident enough to even continue trying top allergens mixed with the anxiety of what life will look like now for our girl. Even though we were scared to go she made us feel like walking through those Latitude doors was at the very least, better than where we were that day. Fast forward a few clinic visits and we had finally gained the confidence and true support to test all top allergens at home, AND identify which ones she truly was allergic to. Going to clinic became less of a burden and more of a meet up for kids with allergies to safely socialize while you talk to other parents who you can give the same nod to that you needed, the "hey I know it's tough but we're going to get through it look." From her first appointment where she was terrified of getting her vitals taken to her last where she borrowed Dr. Henderson's stethlescope to listen to Dr's heart beat, we saw the fear of going to clinic transform into joy. Thanks to the lovely receptionists and the wonderful doctors and especially caring nurses (especially Auntie Sarah), we started to finally feel that peace come back that the first reaction took from us. Proud to say my girl has outgrown her milk allergy and completed OIT successfully with peanuts and it's all thanks to the special place in a little office called latitude.

My main issue is that this office has always felt like a money-grab. The office often recommended additional tests and appointments that did not seem necessary. Although I understand the value of Ni-Ox and lung function assessments, the repeated testing rarely resulted in meaningful adjustments to my treatment plan. Appointments frequently ended with vague feedback rather than clear next steps for improvement. During one visit, I had a reaction to the shots, which was a stressful situation. The staff appeared uncertain about how to respond, and Dr. Zhang invited a medical assistant to observe my hives without asking for my consent. This was uncomfortable and dehumanizing. Additionally, I received the bill for this appointment and they charged me for a lung function test I did not take. I contacted the billing department who said they would call me back. I never received a call back despite following up. I check today to see they have revised their billing statement to deduct that charge. Very shady business that prioritizes money over patient care. I am now seeing a new allergist who looked at my tests and said that allergists should not be administering shots to people with numbers as bad as mine were.

I can't even put into words what this office has done for me…read more After four trips to the ER and being told over and over to just take Mucinex, I wasn't getting any better. I felt like I was at the end of my days. Between three visits with healthcare providers, two urgent care visits, and four ER visits all within the same month, no one could give me a proper diagnosis. The response was always the same: "It's a virus. It will go away on its own." Now, I understand doctors don't know everything, and medicine isn't always black and white. They're trained to make the best educated decisions possible. But after all of those failed attempts to find answers, a close friend told me about FAAC. Honestly, seeing an allergist had never even crossed my mind. I thought about it, slept on it, and the next morning I made an appointment. At that point, I felt like I had nothing to lose except maybe paying for another inhaler that wouldn't work. Well, I took my shot. I walked into the office coughing my lungs out. Before I had even fully opened the door, I heard the receptionist at the front desk say, "Buenos días, ¿cómo le puedo ayudar?" I hadn't even made it to the counter yet and was already being greeted. First impressions matter, and from the warm welcome to how straightforward the check in process was, everything started off right. I sat in the lobby for maybe five to seven minutes at most before being called back. I was coughing nonstop and could barely catch my breath. As one of the MAs walked me to the exam room, I coughed the entire way down the hallway. Not once did she or anyone else on the staff make me feel uncomfortable. Usually people hear me coughing and immediately cover their mouths or put on a mask. While I'm not suggesting everyone not do this. I was surprised. Here, I felt cared for instead of judged. Once in the room, the MA began asking questions about what had brought me in. I explained everything from start to finish, and she carefully documented every detail. I truly appreciated that because I could barely talk without coughing. When the doctor came in, I didn't have to repeat my entire story all over again. Then the star of the show walked in: Dr. Kumar. He introduced himself, asked a few questions, and explained his game plan. When he mentioned an inhaler, I was already mentally preparing to flip his table over (just kidding). He explained that this inhaler was different from the ones I'd been prescribed before. It contained medication that the others didn't, including steroids that could actually address what was going on. So I stayed calm and listened. He ordered a breathing test and then had the MA administer a breathing treatment. We completed the breathing test, and after that she brought in the breathing machine, set everything up, and had me sit with the mask on for about 15 minutes. When Dr. Kumar returned, he asked how I felt. At first, I honestly couldn't tell. Was I imagining it? Could 15 minutes really make that much of a difference? Surprisingly, yes. The cough wasn't completely gone, but that horrible stuck, choking feeling I'd been carrying around for weeks had started to ease. As I drove to get my bloodwork done, I could feel the difference. When I got home, I took a long nap. And when I woke up, I felt better than I had in weeks. Not only was I breathing easier, but I had finally been able to rest. Over the next two weeks, I continued using the medications and inhaler Dr. Kumar prescribed. By day two, I felt significantly better. I could actually carry on a conversation without coughing every few words, and that choking sensation was completely gone. Shortly after, my son got sick. I didn't even consider taking him to his pediatrician because I was convinced I'd leave empty handed again. Instead, I immediately called FAAC and scheduled an appointment. Happy to report that we left Dr. Kumar's office with a treatment plan and the medication he needed. With all that being said, I can't thank Dr. Kumar and his staff enough. I was skeptical at first, but after this entire experience, all I can say is wow. The friendliness. The professionalism. The patience. The willingness to truly listen to a patient. If I could give this practice 10 stars, I absolutely would. I will be referring everyone I know here. And at this point, Dr. Kumar probably isn't getting rid of me anytime soon. Thank you, FAAC!

The allergy test itself was interesting and they test several environmental allergens. I also had to return on another day to test food allergens, as well as retesting some of the other environmental variables that I scored low sensitivity on. You get the results after waiting 20 minutes or so once you've had enough time to trigger a reaction. Dr. Anand was so friendly and personable. I felt like she was a very thorough clinician and really took her time to explain everything to me. She also took note of other issues that weren't quite in her scope, and referred me out to other specialists to make sure I got the care I needed. She then followed up with me to make the process smoother, which I truly appreciated. Other staff members (LVNs and front desk) are also informative and helpful. They do have a mask policy in place, and if you forget to wear one, they have plenty to spare. It is a healthcare facility after all and I don't think they should be rated poorly just because of a policy to ensure the safety of staff and patients alike.

My three little boys have a variety of allergies and are all subject to asthma/wheezing, so we've gotten to know Dr. Cummings over several years now... and I'm thankful that she is here to help us sort through the associated complex and stressful issues. She's got the experience and research knowledge to know what she's doing -- and during my interactions she's demonstrated both a friendly bedside manner and a balance between confidence and caution that I find reassuring. Of course with allergies as with lots of other ailments, doctors are still learning -- so even the experts can often not tell you the "right answer" for how to manage a particular allergy. And it's no fun bringing your little guys in to be poked and prodded each year for an allergy test, especially when (as on our last visit) my three year old's uncomfortable skin test got botched and had to be repeated. But as with most things, no pain, no gain. And since we are trying to do our very best to keep our little guys safe and comfortable over the long haul, we're going to keep coming to Dr. Cummings for the best advice we can get.

I've been told I'm allergic/sensitive to chemicals, and there's no known way to treat that. Dr Cummings was highly recommended to me, and I went to her as a last ditch effort. She took a look at all my previous testing, listened to me talking about my symptoms, and pinpointed my main (though not only) problem immediately - untreated silent reflux - and gave me a recommendation for her colleague, Dr Chan. She was right on the money. Dr Chan tested me, put me on meds, and I've never been better. Unlike other allergists I've gone to, Dr Cummings knows what can mimic allergy problems, and who to send you to. And I'm really grateful for that expertise, and her wonderful bedside manner.
