Dropped him off at 8:30AM. They said to call around lunch to check on him as he needed to be anesthetized for the procedure. By 9:45AM, my personal phone was blowing up while I was on work calls on my other phone. Numerous messages were left asking me to call them immediately. One message stated that they over anesthetized my dog and could not resuscitate him. When I finally got a chance to call them to ask what was going on, the office manager had the audacity to tell me "Don't worry Mr. Auber, we are not going to charge you for the cleaning today" as if that was my biggest concern or even a thought at the moment. Finally spoke to the questionably qualified "Dr. A." who killed my dog. She said before they proceeded with the anesthetic, they ran routine blood work to make sure all was in order. Over the phone on speaker, she told my family that my dog's white blood cell count was high but ACE decided to proceed at risk. I asked for a copy of the blood work report and the blood work report shows his WBC was actually low. This changing in story as the morning progressed should raise flags in your opinion of using ACE as they obviously do not have true handle and straight story on a grave situation. Additionally, either high or low, no one from ACE called me directly and asked me if I wanted them to proceed at risk! So now my dog is dead at the hands of Dr. A and Animal Care Experts all over a basic tooth cleaning that wasn't necessarily needed! He wasn't 15 years old going in for a heart procedure! They then told me they would like to send Graham to a partner animal hospital of theirs to have a Necropsy (Autopsy) performed. I quickly shut them down and said you are sure not sending him to one of your partner hospitals (as the cynic in me feared the necropsy results would favor ACE to no wrong doing). I made sure they sent my deceased beloved dog to Tufts Animal Hospital in Grafton and when I directed them to send him there, you could hear their voices tremble! I further asked about cremation planning for after the necropsy was completed and again, ACE, in amazingly cold hearted fashion initially stated that they will email me a list of websites that do animal cremations and I can set it up and pay on line if I wish. Ultimately, ACE was putting the cost of the cremation of my pet back on me. How negligent, reckless, and heartless can one place be in the span of half a day!!! By the end of the day, they eventually came around and offered to cover the cremation and have him returned to ACE for my pick up. But once I mentioned I had spoken to an animal rights attorney, they quickly turned face and said I could go pick up my cremated dog on my own time and they don't want me on their property any longer. Their insurer, Hanover Insurance, called me a few days later and quickly informed me that in the state of Connecticut, a pet is considered "property" just like the fence in your yard. The vet is responsible for basically nothing and can go on negligently killing dogs at minimal cost to them or their insurer!!! So heed caution when choosing ACE in Thompson CT when there are 5 other vets within 4 miles north of there in Webster MA. At least in Mass, the Vets have reason for being held accountable and to not "proceed at their own risk"! Please spread the word as I have far and wide in our local community about the negligence wielded by Dr. A. and Animal care experts! Don't let your loving perfect dog or cat be next!

When the ear pain worsened after a few days, I went to this clinic again. I didn't give up when they wanted to make an appointment for me only in 3 days. My dog needed help immediately. And only because the obvious infection was previously ignored. Effect? Yeast in both ears. Before this happened, I made an appointment for neutering. During a visit preparing for the procedure, and after checking my dog's teeth, Weissbach suggested removing the dental calculus in the neutering procedure, which I gladly agreed to, as it would spare the dog from having to go to anesthesia twice. However, after I dared to point out the doctor's lack of professionalism, it turned out that the earlier proposal to remove the calculus no longer valid. It was explained to me by a rude manager that it was impossible, that the doctor offered such a thing to me, that I must have understood it wrong, and that it was Dr. Weissbach word that counted, not mine. The whole conversation revolved around the opinion, unspoken loudly by the manager, but conveyed suggestively between the words, that I didn't understand because... English is not my native language. Due to such behavior, I did not allow the castration to be carried out, I took the dog and I will never go back there again. I should have done it several years earlier, when I went to them with my dog, which was suffering from severe stomach pain and refused to eat or drink. Since the dog is allergic, after examination the doctor said that it was definitely a consequence of allergies and prescribed him medications. The dog was still suffering, so we went to the emergency room at Tufts Hospital at night. And it turned out that the cause was not an allergy, but a bottle cap that my dog had swallowed. I cannot add that an intestinal sensitivity and gluten allergy, even though AEC took care of my dog, were diagnosed only by Tufts Hospital. Lack of professionalism, dishonesty, manipulation of facts, prejudice based on nationality, that's what happened to me. I think this place should be subjected to some control by a higher authority. If it looks too rough and your animal is terrified, take him/her, and leave. I wish I had done so. She had a skin issue that was making her gnaw at her fur and it got very matted within literally three days and with infected sores. The doctor pointed out that I couldn't prove that the matting didn't come first- insinuating that it was because she is due for a grooming.... which is why we are here in the first place to be seen to make a grooming appointment.....they basically didn't believe me that she had been experiencing a skin irritation prior to this that made her hair extremely matted in that spot. I would be willing to remove this review if my next visit proves to be better- they also tried to make me muzzle her myself and I had to go back to get them to put on the cone collar when I couldn't get it on her... meaning this is something they should already be doing for the price of the visit. There was just a sort of negative energy all around and I really hope it can be improved. It's not just about serving the dogs- it's customer service. I sent a deposit months earlier and had been waiting on a health certificate so I could engage a commercial shipper. 3 months went by with no sign of the vet check happening. She finally said it would be done by May 5th, but by this point my daughter and I decided to do the 20 hour round trip drive by ourselves. We got to Webster the day before and contacted Jeanine to set a time to pick up our cat. At this point she said she lives "2 hours away". This seemed very strange- how can you take care of your animals properly if you live so far away? We set the time for 10 am the next day. On the morning of the pickup she texted us that we wouldn't be able to go into the apartment where the cats were. Again, giant red flag. We arrived into the parking lot and she came out with a cat in her arms. It looked nothing like the pictures she had sent me of a robust, beautiful, healthy Ragdoll. Instead the cat was extremely thin, dirty, and had multiple skin lesions. The cat looked sick and lethargic. My daughter had had enough of the run arounds and took the cat and put her in our carrier. Then Jeanine tried to sell us another cat. This poor thing was in even worse shape than the first, she had weeping skin lesions and she was clearly nursing a litter of kittens. I asked Jeanine how she could sell a nursing mother, and she brushed it aside and tried to claim that the kittens were weaned. We did not buy the second cat because we knew the one we had purchased was in terrible shape, and who would take a mom away from her babies? We drove 700 miles back to Virginia and booked a vet appointment for the next day. The vet at Compassion Animal Care in Bealeton was clearly shocked when she examined our $2,500 purchase. Our kitty that we named Chloe' was infested with fleas and tapeworms, was severely underweight, was missing 6 teeth (a two year old cat), and had severe diarrhea. We had treatment started and paid the $770 vet bill. Oh, also, Jeanine could not provide proof of any vaccinations but jotted off a handwritten record including a rabies vaccination that she claimed she "gave herself ". You cannot give your own rabies vaccines - they have to be given by a licensed veterinarian. We brought Chloe home and we are two weeks in on her long slow road to recovery. She was terrified of people and is very slowly coming around. My vet has advised keeping her isolated away from my cats for 3 months. You should run - not walk away from Jeanine and her cattery. The cat I bought and the cat I saw were clearly neglected and abused. No reputable breeder would keep cats in these conditions and then sell them to the public. She also stated my kitten was born May 17 when I brought the kitten to the vet the very next day, because the kitten was extremely ill the kitten weighed just 1 pound, and stated there was no way this kitten was born the day she claimed. When I received the kitten it was infested with fleas and flea dirt. Jeanine also stated in the health record form she gave me that the kitten was treated with Frontline back in June. The vet stated if she gave the kitten Frontline back in June, and the kitten was only a pound today it could've killed the kitten. I am up to about $1000 in vet bills and close to $500 in prescription medication. At this point the vet thinks my kittens condition will be chronic and could be on meds for up to six months. From my understanding with talking to the authorities about her, they are very well aware of her breeding habits , As several people have complained to Rhode Island and Massachusetts. If anyone on here would like to contact me please feel free. My kitten at this point has upper respiratory, that could be chronic. He also had conjunctivitis he was anemic because of the infestation of fleas he was extremely malnourished , And he was also diagnosed with Giardia. Jeannie says she will cover the cost of prescription medication's, but not the diagnostics which is what cost the most in all honesty. This kitten has had bloodwork, a chest x-ray, multiple medications, six medications a day. The only thing I can say is she needs to be held accountable for her lack of caring, and frankly animal abuse of these animals.
