After my boyfriend had his eye exam done here, I decided it was time for some new contacts and glasses so I set up an appointment. They were able to get me in within two weeks and at a time that worked for me. To speed up the process they also gave me the paperwork when scheduling my appointment and told me I could just bring it with when I came back. Efficiency. Everyone that I interacted with was friendly and cheerful. I even appreciated that the doctor didn't try to confuse me in any way and actually set straight a lot of misinformation I was given by my previous doctor/salesperson. You know the best part... the glaucoma machine. You know the machine that blows air into your eyes to test the pressure? At the previous optometrist, I'd always "fail" the test and then I'd have to go through the process of having my eyes dilated which always sucks because driving after is the worst. FBOC's glaucoma machine was actually able to give a real reading because it was a quick push of air instead of the long shot of air that was always forced my eyes to shut. No dilation, YAY! Pretty smooth process and from start to finish was maybe an hour of my time. The staff is great. And I felt like they really went the extra mile with everything... the doctor even decided it was best to do a follow up appointment since there was some uncertainty with my contacts. I paid out of pocket and felt that the price for a contact and glasses prescription was reasonable at $129 (and that included the trial pair of contact lenses).

I was under their care initially for about a week and continued with them for follow-up care. It has been a comforting and satisfactory experience with my overall recuperation. On the way out to pay I provided my insurance which is medicaid and the receptionist told me they weren't taking any insurances at the moment due to being fairly new and they were having a system problem that I had to pay out of pocket. And also that I could call my insurance and have then reimburse for what I had paid. So i went ahead and paid thinking it would be fine. Today I called my insurance and after an investigation they told me that the optometry clinic didnt take my insurance. That I could call them and see what they could do. I called and asked to speak to the office manager 1st. I was told she wasnt there i asked when they would be available they said they didn't know but that she could help me i once again asked when they would be available she told me she was in charge of the office today because they didn't have an office manager. They lied. So i spoke to her explained what had happened in March she argued and told me they didnt except my insurance over and over again. She asked me what she wanted her to do for me, I told her I want a refund since I paid for something you all had told me i was going to get reimbursed for. She passed me to the optometrist which was so rude and aggressive. He told me i wasn't going to get anything because it was my fault for not asking if they accepted my insurance which was medicaid. He started to scold me telling me I should know what dr office accepted medicaid. I told him I had asked before my exam. He the very sarcastic told me if I had gotten my prescription I said yes, he asked if I had glasses already I told him yes. He then told me ok were are done and your not getting anything from my office. I told him we're done seriously he said yes we are. I then told him ok then i will go ahead and report you the BBB for fraud i hung up.

And I had to wait two months to have an appointment because I had to see the same optometrist who had seen me before. I was never happy with glasses.After 6 months the lenses of the glasses started to crack. During the waiting time, I lost my glasses. When they called me, two weeks later, they wanted $150.00 for not having the frame.Paying for a product that wasn't good from the start, no way. I'm just saying that I won't go back there.

I had awful pain in my eye. They squeezed me in as it was an emergency I felt like my eye was rolling around with sand in my socket. Long story short after antibiotics and a follow up appointment. I have dry eye. As Dr Tayfoya said "just a sign of getting older" I have heeded advice and done well with his recommendations. Great doctor with a steady hand.
