I booked an appointment only after the receptionist confirmed to me on the phone that the doctor…read morespeaks English. However, at the time of the appointment, the doctor told me rather haughtily that we can't communicate in English in Germany. I had written down symptoms of my problem and he asked to see the paper I was holding. I told him that I want to get checked for diabetes to which he said no you don't have it after taking a perfunctory glance at my symptoms. He said they would do an examination for fever?! I want to get checked for diabetes. I DON'T have fever. He was really dismissive and without giving me a chance to explain the purpose of my visit, symptoms or problem, he went outside and asked the receptionist to set up an appointment for a fever examination. Really upset and disappointed.
