During the exam, one tooth was extremely painful when tapped, while the tooth next to it appeared to be the one causing concern from a dental standpoint. I remember explaining how much pain I was in because the tooth that hurt was agonizing when touched. I understand dentists have to rely on their training, exams, and X-rays, and I also understand they have to be careful when discussing pain medication. However, I left feeling like my pain was not fully believed or taken seriously. I remember asking for pain relief because I was hurting so badly, and I left feeling judged rather than understood. Although this happened more than ten years ago, it has stayed with me because of how I felt during that visit. What I remember most was not the procedure itself, but feeling dismissed when I was genuinely hurting. The dental work itself may have been perfectly fine, but the way a patient feels during a difficult and painful experience can stay with them for years. My hope is that all patients are treated with compassion and that providers remember there are people who truly are suffering and simply looking for relief and understanding.

However, his office staff is the worst that I've ever worked with, especially the lady that works in the billing department. My first interaction with her was when I brought my daughter in and they had to perform a root canal.- when I was paying the bill. I asked her why one tooth was more expensive than the other tooth and she continued to chastise me and say well there are teeth that have more roots than others in a very snarky response, as if somebody who does not work in dental understood this. My other daughter also went in for a root canal and they ended up having to extract the tooth failed to tell us that she needed to come back to get stitches removed and she ended up having pain about a month later and they said oh sorry we dropped the ball on this one. The last straw was when my newly turned 18-year-old daughter went in for some work, and they failed to tell her that this was not going to be covered by our insurance because this work was already done previously at another dental clinic. To this day I continue to receive invoices in the mail saying that this is overdue and emails. We refuse to pay this as it's their responsibility to let us know that something is not covered because it was already previously done that year. My husband has attempted to have several calls with the insurance companies and this office and has completely failed. I have moved my entire family out of this practice and onto a new one and I would say I do not recommend giving them your business.

As someone with severe medical trauma and constant intrusive thoughts, this last-minute change significantly worsened my existing fears and anxieties. While I understand such adjustments may be necessary, giving notice so late made it far more distressing. For those on the spectrum or who rely on medication to manage appointments, be cautious, there's better specialized offices available.

Carson, Fort Lewis (JBLM), to name only a few to Italy and Germany, I can say with absolute certainty this dental office exceeded expectations and reached a level of pure perfection. The office is immaculate, the front desk is professional, polite, extremely welcoming and helpful; the dental assistances function with the dentist like a well oiled machine. I had an implant that broke. A unique implant (the crown)...put in more than nine years ago (June 2016). This Dentist took me the very next morning and did an "excellent" job. This doctor is EXTRAORDINARY. The care, the knowledge/experience/work, professionalism, environment, cost...everything...was perfect...and amazing. We have been going to Lo Family Dental for a little over a year now. We found them through our…read moreDental Provider and they're extremely close to our home as well as a very reasonable distance from my kids' schools (Lake High School and Idlewild Elementary), which makes appointments that happen during the school day a lot easier! It also helps that they've always run very close to on-time - if not completely - when we have had an appointment. For a working Mom with 3 kids, this is an extremely important characteristic in an office. As an adult, I've had a good experience here with only one exception. My only negative experience (the loss of one star) has been over paying for a sleep guard that did not work... by "did not work", I mean that it did not fit the first time and cracked when I tried it on before even leaving the office, seeming to be made with a very brittle material. They were VERY kind and re-did my molds and sent away for another guard. This one arrived after a couple weeks and still fit very oddly and tightly. Dr Lo did his best to adjust the fit and told me it was ok to be tight... then one night, while wearing it (and biting on it - my primary reason for having it since I have TMJ and clench my teeth badly) it cracked in half and I woke up to it in the back of my throat, as I'd inhaled it and I rolled over and coughed it out. Kinda scary. Since then, they've apologized for the incident and promised to take care of the cost of the guard, but I haven't received an update (it's been about 4 weeks). My dental care - cleanings, x-rays, etc - have all been great. The staff is all wonderful and Dr. Lo is kind and a great communicator. My kids have also had great experiences. My 15 year old has connected with one of the Hygienists who has been able to really convince her about the importance of consistent brushing a flossing (a constantly battle with her since she was old enough to brush her own teeth) and this year she is cavity free for the first time since she was 9! Yay! My 5 year old has had a positive experience here, also. They're not a "kids" office but they do accommodate kids well. We had some trouble with x-rays due to the size of the guards inside of my daughter's mouth the last time we were there so we had to skip the x-rays this time around because it seems they were causing her pain (I don't see this as their fault - she got herself psyched up and couldn't be talked down). We'll continue seeing Lo Family Dental, though we might look into a kid-specific dental office if we continue to have issues with my youngest and her anxiety about x-rays.

I…read moreoriginally came to here because of having extreme pain in my mouth due to a bad cavity, but since then I have been coming back to get my fillings and plan on continuing with my yearly cleanings. All of the staff are really nice and helpful. They make it easy to get appointments set up and during the appointments they will explain what they are doing and what to expect as they are working on your mouth which helps make me feel less nervous. I'm not usually a fan of going to the dentist but with Lumin8 I don't have the same anxiety and I feel like I'll actually do the yearly visits you are suppose to do instead of waiting in between.

He was very gentle! Ok The procedure was done with quality and great chair side manner.
