I am terrible at writing reviews but I wanted to make sure I made one for Lumin8 Dentistry. I originally came to here because of having extreme pain in my mouth due to a bad cavity, but since then I have been coming back to get my fillings and plan on continuing with my yearly cleanings. All of the staff are really nice and helpful. They make it easy to get appointments set up and during the appointments they will explain what they are doing and what to expect as they are working on your mouth which helps make me feel less nervous. I'm not usually a fan of going to the dentist but with Lumin8 I don't have the same anxiety and I feel like I'll actually do the yearly visits you are suppose to do instead of waiting in between. read more

The whole staff have been amazing. I went in for a root canal and crown was greeted by the hygienist who was coming to numb me... and he did so well I didn't even feel it! He was very gentle! Ok The procedure was done with quality and great chair side manner. I'm really thankful Dr.Drew was able to save my tooth and my crown .. you can't even tell the difference between crown and my natural teeth it looks so great! I have more work that needs to be done and I'm happy to have it done by this office! read more

AWSOME dentist that went out of his way to help me. very professional staff as well. Great experience with the dentist office and Shane. Went last year for a 2nd opinion after having really bad experience with another dentist that was wanting me to get a crown and "pay cash" I felt something was off and felt I better get another opinion. Dr Drew took over a practice from Dr Eylander when he retired. We loved our previous dentist but Dr Drew has been a great replacement. He & his hygienist Dan (who was also with Dr Eylander) are very gentle and honest about what needs to be done now; & what can wait. I appreciate that. Although he seemed friendly at first, I soon found Dr. Drew to be quite disrespectful and dismissive about my needs. Just MINUTES after I explained that I DON'T WANT unnecessary X-rays taken, he had me do a full mouth CT scan (which I mistook at the time for a harmless MRI) when it wasn't necessary. I was cooked with X-rays and it can't be reversed. A CT scanner uses a high dose of X-rays, which have been positively linked to brain tumors. There are so many 5-star reviews on here because there's a sign board in the lobby which reads "Leave a (5-star) review on Google or facebook to be entered in our Monthly Giveaway". The receptionist provided an estimate for a crown and told me that I could save 15% by paying cash. After the first visit when I was paying for services, Dr. Drew told me there's no discount for cash! I would need to sign up for the discount program, which costs $499 per year. I felt like a bait-and-switch victim. The next visit was to place the crown. I had lingering pain for several days, so I visited his office on the morning PRIOR to see if I could talk to Dr. Drew for 5 minutes to see if we should reschedule. The receptionist said he was WAY too busy, but said she could "change my appointment type". I made it clear that I only need a very short meeting. At the appointment I said I still had pain. He then started in on me "I blocked out 2 hours for you today!" I explained to him that I came in yesterday morning to reschedule and if he wasn't notified it's NOT my fault. He should have apologized, but instead said nothing. He was quite condescending for the rest of the visit. I asked about color matching on the crown that needed to be placed soon. He then scolded me for asking questions too soon! WFT? I'll decide when to ask questions. There's no better time than IN ADVANCE. I don't need to be disrespected by somebody I'm quite literally helping to feed. I returned to the office two days later on a Friday morning and asked if Dr. Drew was available for a few minutes BEFORE I made another appointment. I was told that he would call me later, probably after 1:00 pm, so I just assumed that I'd hear back from him later that day. I didn't. Or the next. Or on Sunday either. By this time I knew that Dr. Drew was getting even with me for wasting his time a few days ago. This was the final straw. I'm not going to beg for a phone call. So I found another dentist Monday morning then set up a time to tell Dr. Drew he's FIRED and get a refund of the $499 I paid for cleanings I never had. He pretended to apologize profusely, but he wasn't being sincere because he denied any wrongdoing on every single grievance. He claimed that I was, in fact, properly informed of the discount policy by an employee and he was a witness to it! Hellooooo... THAT was somebody ELSE, and that was AFTER the work was finished! 10 days later I STILL didn't have my check. More problems. In a final parting shot he didn't want to return my money until I signed a statement stating "PATIENT ACCOUNT SETTLED FOR ALL TREATMENT" so he wouldn't get sued for overcharging me for a core build-up which was really just a temporary filling. This is REALLY dirty. I should have just sued for punitive damages to teach him a lesson. The patient is the boss. I'm not paying to be scolded, disrespected, talked down to, put off indefinitely, jerked around, told that I'm wrong about everything and ultimately extorted. Spare yourself some grief and find a dentist who listens, cares, has morals and treats patients with a bit of respect. read more

Dr. Shane Drew is an amazing dentist. He's super gentle and caring and explains things clearly so that you are never unsure of what's going on. He is top in his field and after going through a lot of work recently, I can see why. Highly recommend him. You'll love his team as well, relaxed and welcoming and as an added plus getting your teeth cleaned by Dan is like having coffee with a friend! I usually don't like to leave bad reviews, but I have never had an experience with a receptionist this bad that it outweighed my feelings about reviews. I called today to try to schedule a free consultation since my endodontist recommended me to them for an implant. When I called, the receptionist first asked about my insurance. When I told her, she then told me that my insurance isn't accepted, she "didn't want to waste your time or our time," told me the price of an implant, and asked if I still wanted to schedule a free consultation. The whole point of a free consultation is to find out what course of treatment is recommended and to know how much treatment would cost. Even though I know it would be a waste of time for them if I ended up not going with them for an implant, it's incredibly rude to be told that up front under the guise of looking out for my time as well. It's clear that people who can afford better quality insurance get better treatment from them. There are people with insurance that they don't accept who can still afford implants, but they don't seem to understand that. I am shocked. read more
