I wanted to make sure I found the best doctor, and I saw that he is the highest rated podiatrist in all of West LA, with decades of experience. I had run a marathon a few months back and my big toenail stopped growing. By just looking at it, he knew that it was a bone spur. Within weeks I had surgery, and I was back on my feet the next day. The process was smooth and seamless. Dr Joseph went above and beyond to make sure I was fully taken care of throughout the entire process. At my follow-up, he noticed my ankle was wobbly and asked if we could take a closer look. The MRI revealed three torn ligaments, four stretched ligaments, a partially torn Achilles, two bursitises, and inflammation throughout the ankle. I knew my ankle had gone through some wear and tear after years of running cross country and track, but I had no idea it was so bad. He treated everything. I spent one week off my foot, the next in a boot, and was running again within six weeks. He worked with my schedule, was reachable by phone throughout, and took time to help me understand everything as it came up. I'm really grateful for Dr Joseph for fixing my ankle and toe. And gave good advice on how to take care of my ankle in the meantime. I tore two ligaments in my left ankle after spraining it several times hiking in the span of 3 weeks. I came to Dr. Joseph a couple of months ago with extreme plantar fasciitis pain. I've had it for a few years and have been able to manage it ok until recently when it became debilitating. I stand on my feet all day for work, so I was in a panic. Like the other reviews say, Dr. Joseph is so lively and friendly which is rare to find in medicine. His energy immediately put me at ease. He evaluated my feet and within 5 minutes could tell I had a sprained ankle and would need an MRI and an X-ray, which concluded I'd need a plantar release surgery and an ankle stabilizer surgery. After surgery, Dr. Joseph made not one but two house calls for me. He was also always available via cell which was reassuring. I took off one star for my review because my only issue was that communication was not the greatest. During the process I had to really advocate for myself since things moved so fast, sometimes it felt like I wasn't being heard. Post-op I had to ask so many questions because I was not given much instruction. Which had I not asked all those questions, I would have done those things and potentially compromised my recovery. It got a little exhausting. If the suggestion box is open, I'd highly recommend a more comprehensive post-op instruction list. It's been a little over one month post-op, so I can't really report if it's helped or not so I will come back and update my review at some point. Both of my feet still hurt but I'm just hoping with time and physical therapy that will help. I have been trying to find a good doctor that will help with my foot issues and he's the first one to ask for his own radioligist to read my MRI as he suspected that there was more going on than was noted on my initial MRI report. My foot issue is complicated, but it started turning on it's side a few months after a fall in May of 2024. I went to this particular podiatrist because he took over the office of Dr. Blaine, who was amazing, but is now retired. Personality wise his replacement ha an A plus. He's very friendly, lively and seems concerned about his patients. I went to him regarding a bunion. He sent me to get radiology and the place that he sent me to had a three hour wait, so I went to another place with no wait. At my next appointment, when he got the lab results back, he scolded me because I didn't go to the radiologist that he suggested. He said that he didn't like the way the place that I went to read the reports because it didn't show that I had a bunion, when clearly in his mind I did. Then he suggested that I have the results read by another radiologist of his choosing and asked me if I would be willing to pay for it. I said yes. His office told me that someone would call me to get my credit card info. No one ever did. During that same initial appointment he convinced me that I needed orthotics. So, I paid out of pocket for those, too. During same appointment, he pointed out that I had a sprained ankle. So, I went to physical therapy and addressed the issue. Skip to a few months ago when I got a call that the orthotics had arrived and I could pick them up at my leisure. Due to out of town travel and work commitments, I was delayed. Cut to last week. I called to say that I wanted to pick them up and I was told that I needed to schedule an appointment to pick them up. This is new and different information, but I proceeded to schedule an appointment for yesterday. I show up for the appointment and they say, no your appointment is for tomorrow. I had it in my calendar for yesterday, but he's not in the office on Tuesdays. Then, I show up today. I'm waiting my turn and the receptionist says that a few months ago he stopped taking my insurance, so instead of meeting with the doctor, they were just going to hand me my orthotics and send me on my way. What?! Then why did you insist on scheduling an appointment when I called to say I would pick them up in the first place? Why couldn't you have handed me my orthotics yesterday when I was there if I didn't need an appointment? Also, the receptionist said that I'd have to pay out of pocket to meet with him, but didn't give me a price or a real option to do that. And, when I pointed these things out, I got radio silence. Basically, this cost me time and money and now I have to start from scratch with another podiatrist. Not cool. Quite shady. Move forward at your own risk. read more

Dr. Joseph is one of the best doctors I've ever experienced in the US. I've had two surgeries with him in the past year and he has been relentless in making sure the root of my problem is solved. I was so impressed that after my surgery, he checked in with me the day of my surgery when I was home and two days afterwards to make sure I was doing well. I came to Dr. Joseph after I was experiencing pain on my metatarsals and toes. I thought I might've had Morton's neuroma or metatarsalgia cus you know, we're all Google YouTube WebMD experts lol. Turns out the bimalleolar ankle fracture I had 14 years ago was the culprit. They repaired my bones but never repaired my ligaments. I felt very comfortable having him guide me through the whole process of my diagnosis of Hagart's deformity and surgery for my unstable ankle that needed anchors. I'm in recovery now (week 4) and I stop by every week. He checks on my left ankle to make sure all is well. The day of my surgery, he texted and called me and followed up on how I was doing. Dr. J is a great doctor and even better person. I first heard about him through a referral of one of my co-worker's friends who said he did a great job on his injured toe. I checked out the reviews on Yelp and thought I'd give him a shot. When I visited his office for an achilles rupture that occurred during a weekend pick-up basketball game, he instantly knew that I already had an ankle sprain. At first, I thought he had some hidden cameras but instantly knew he was just that good at his job. He explained to me that the previous instability of a rolled ankle caused my achilles tendon to overcompensate and the rest was just a ticking time bomb. Afterwards, he immediately recommended all the tools that I would need for my surgery - a boot, knee scooter, and shower sleeve. He was also a major advocate for my health by calling around to get my MRI, review appointment, and pre-op scheduled within just 2 days of each other. While I unfortunately could not have my surgery done by his team, due to my insurance being out of network, he STILL went out of his way to find me someone who was. This is top notch service! I went to see Dr. Joseph for a spectacular cyst on my big toe joint. I wear a lot of boots, hiking/backpacking, ski, motorcycle, and I practice some extreme yoga, so I was really worried about it. Dr. Joseph was refreshingly happy to treat my foot. The MRI showed a second cyst on the side of the same foot and he removed both. He posted pictures and a reel of the procedure on Instagram. He really enjoys his practice and cares for his patients; the first thing you see post-surgery is a super cute cartoon drawing on your bandaged foot, that was so positive and reassuring. His team at the medical office and the surgery center were all amazingly helpful and kind. If I had known of him sooner, I wouldn't have waited so long to get treated. Been having back pain for about 2 years. A year ago I fell while bouldering, and bruised my hip bone. Since then, I had been developing back and nerve issues and always dealing with something new. I went to Dr. Joseph for a numb sensation in my right toe. He took one look at it and said I probably have a ligament tear due to inflammation and displacement. MRI confirmed I had 3 partially torn ligaments. It seems I've been re-injuring my foot over and over, because I had lots of scar tissue. I've never had a diagnosed injury of the area.
