I was treated by Dr. Christopher Phillips in Dr. Jacobs' office this week. I was more than satisfied with the qualify of care I received. Dr. Phillips is kind, friendly, very competent, and very efficient. I had a somewhat painful procedure, and Dr. Phillips did a great job putting me at ease and explaining what he was doing each step of the way. Super challenging staff to deal with and very difficult to get Rx filled. Not open 5 day a week anymore. Really difficult to get an appointment and you are correct must wear mask and be fully vaccinated with boaters. Agree place is clean and Doctors are pleasant. although I moved away and can no longer be a patient of Dr Jacobs - he was my dermatologist for 25 years plus - he was fantastic and one of my most trusted physicians. He was so helpful on so many issues I had during that time - when my primary care dr and other dr's weren't being helpful or believing me......Dr Jacobs never steered me wrong and I miss him as a dermatologist more than he will ever know - IMO - at least in my case - there is no one better at listening and dealing me as an individual regarding my serious issues - where I go now - has the issue of treating everyone with in regards of not being aggressive - when she should be. The place is clean. Dr. Yourchek is nice. But the assistants/scribes are rude and so I can't say I like this place very much because they're mostly who you interact with. My first visit the assistant seemed annoyed when I was trying to explain why I was there and kept rushing me along. The dr. was 30min late, which I didn't mind, but just because he's behind schedule doesn't mean I'm getting the short end of the stick unless I'm getting a discount on my appointment. My second visit a different assistant was annoyed that she had to write perscriptions. She sighed and huffed and puffed, verbally saying how much work it was. Both assistants didn't actually read the paperwork I filled out because they both told me I didnt list my prescriptions. Both times I had to ask for the packet I filled out and pointed out where they were. One assistant even said "well i hope he reads this" referring to the Dr. regarding my file. Well gee, i sure hope so too. Charts aren't for decoration, they're a tool so you don't have to re-create the wheel. If I'm so annoying, and an inconvenience, for coming to the doctor to be treated for my acne and get medicine for it (the audacity!), then maybe I should find a dermatologist's office where people aren't annoyed by doing their job or seeing patients. read more

I read the reviews and was skeptical but I found good service with a friendly staff and Doctor "Y" was great and took care of the spots on my head and leg and was full of information and his assistant was also very helpful. Doctor "Y" likes Hawaiian shirts and I had one of mine on the day of my appointment with him. read more

I've been going to this office for the last 7 yrs. because my kids were struggling with acne. The staff has always been professional and kind. The office is clean and it doesn't take an unreasonable amount of time to get an appointment and they usually see you within15-20 minutes of your appt. time. Was shocked to see the poor ratings but then as I scrolled through them I saw several from people who don't understand that choices have consequences. You don't want to wear a mask during a pandemic that has killed over a million Americans, fine. You don't want to vaccinate, again fine. Had my first visit today. Office staff were great, easy check in and check out. The room was clean, it had an off smell. I couldn't tell you what it smelt like though. I came in for a black mole looking on my arm. I was concerned about it. Beth was the nurse and she asked me some questions. She was super sweet. When the dr came in, funny guy! Very chill. He said the mole didn't look concerning, but I can get it removed anyways. I said yes! By all means. So he removed it. The procedure was great. Tingly feeling, but nothing I wasn't able to handle. I made an ouch sound but he still handled with care. I was excited that I got stitches. (Don't ask why) I would recommend this dr to anyone. Great guy! And his staff were great as well! read more

I waited 6 months to come in for a routine shot. I hear a week out from my appointment from one of his other patients that he is mandating vaccinated and boosted in order to see him. This office will not refill any prescription without an office visit. I have been seen by the doctor multiple times. Each time I get the same thing. Only its good for 3 months and you have to go back to get the same thing over and over again. It's all about getting an office visit out of you. Almost 200 dollars for an office visit and the cost of the cream is 10 dollars. Net cost 210 dollars for a 10 dollar cream. You should get a refund for ALWAYS waiting 45 minutes plus, to get your 2 minutes of time with the doctor. That's 100 dollars a minute. read more

I just want to start off by saying thank you to one of the workers. I don't clearly remember her name, but it started with C. 2 years back when I first went, everyone was quite friendly. A couple months go by and the procedure to have my acne slowly fade away wasn't all bad. I was given four prescriptions: two oral, and two topical. And every appointment I had dealt w/ me getting my black heads removed and pimples popped. I've got to say, my face looked so great after that rough journey. Sadly, I had to stop going to the dermotologist due to money problems and how my medical insurance kept messing up... My first visit to his office I had a few concerns and needed a couple skin tags removed, after being placed into an exam room the nurse asked why I was there, I explained what my concerns were. Soon after Dr. Stuart came in and introduced him self, looked at my chart told the RN who was very nice to remove my skin tags, the nursed asked him don't you want to check him out first, he didn't even ask to see what my concerns were and left the room. I was a little stunned and asked if he was coming back, he didn't. I don't want to throw her under the bus but since when can an RN perform procedures. Since this is the only dermatologist in town my insurance will allow me to go to I went back. The second visit Doctor Stuart didn't come into the room to perform an exam. I don't know what everyone complains about Jacobs. His front staff are really nice and we joke about everything. I only have to spend 20 minutes max in the office and I go there once a month. The only negatives is the no show policy. It's $50 and it's super inconvenient and I've only seen Jacobs maybe a couple of times since going there. read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. While I cannot speak for Dr. Jacobs himself since I haven't seen him, the rest of his staff is rude and dishonest. It's been a couple years since I've been into the office, but I had such a bad experience I felt compelled to share and warn people about this place when I came across it on Yelp. I went through a phase where I suffered from bad acne. After trying so many products, someone recommended I try Obagi, its an extremely expensive product but I heard they're acne line worked wonders. After not having success with anything else, I figured I'd pay and give it a try. Dr. Jacobs office offers a free consultation to determine if Obagi is good for you since it is pretty powerful stuff, also a huge financial investment. I met with an esthetician/ Obagi rep named Michelle aka "Shelly." I told her about my acne concerns and to my surprise she told me I should try the line designed for pigmentation, not the Acne product they made. She told me the pigmentation product worked better and would clean up my acne in no time. I've had freckles my whole life and had no desire to lighten them, but I was so desperate to cure my acne that I didn't care if that was the side effect. Typically they have a required follow up session after starting the product, but I told her I could not do this because I lived in Southern California and was only in Stockton visiting. Since I couldn't make the follow up, I told her thanks for her time but I would purchase the product somewhere locally to me. She said that wasn't necessary, and we could have a phone consultation instead. She told me there would be no risk, and if the product didn't work for me I was guaranteed a 100% refund. After using this $300 product, not only did my acne get worse, but all of my skin became noticeably red, splotchy, and irritated. I told her this during my consultation, and she said sometimes with acne it must get worse before it gets better so I should continue using the product and follow up again. During our second follow up, I told her my skin continued to get worse and I wanted my money back. She instantly became really defensive and argumentative. She was incredibly mean and rude and told me that a refund was not possible because they would have to inspect my skin before giving me a refund which I couldn't do since I lived far away and that the acne wasn't their fault because that particular product line I was using was designed for improving pigmentation, not acne. This really pissed me off because she flat out lied on all accounts. Before starting the product I addressed both of those issues and she said it would be okay. I was apprehensive about the $300+ cost and she repeatedly assured me that I would be refunded if it didn't work. To sum it all up... SHELLY IS A LIAR WHO WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO EARN COMMISSION. TOTAL RIP OFF DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! read more

I had seen him for removal of a cancerous growth on the back of my hand and all went well. Sent my wife to see him when she had some issues on her scalp. At the time she was not covered on my insurance so I paid cash for her visit to the tune of $160. He came in and took one look at her and would not even touch her to examine her condition. He simply gave her some samples of some foam and told her to leave and never come back!! What kind of doctor does that?!! I have been a patient with Dr Jacobs for a while and I also work in the medical field. I am surprised by the previous review doesn't sound like they are aware of their insurance plan. That office is wonderful, the wait time is very acceptable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful! The only thing they need improvement on is the phone hold time. Wait time was exceptionally long for very little face time. The follow up was with a nurse and was only 15 second long and she then did a procedure that was basically popping pimples for a minute without letting me know that it would cost extra. When the bill came they charged 30 dollars for the office visit, which was high but expected and 100 dollars for the procedure which was just ridiculous. This was under insurance as well, where the procedure was termed as a surgery and costs 220 dollars without insurance. Really pushes the other spa options and their own office brand washes and products as well. Doesn't feel like a doctor at all, it just feels like they are trying to squeeze as much money out of the patient as possible. read more

I went for my first visit. I went because I know someone else who had gone there. the staff was pleasant. got in the room on time. BUT then he came in like a whirlwind, no "hi, how are you, what can I do for you today?" no pleasantries, really no Dr./patient contact...it was like I was a talking piece of meat to a dermatologist. I had a list of concerns....he took care of the main one on my face in about 2 minutes and then started to leave...many times I had to call him back to look at other concerns I had with really no explainations or concern on his part to explain them. In the front office there is a notice that says all new patients will get a full body scan for problems. I got nothing of the sort. I was so taken aback at his behavior! I felt I was in some sort of skin mill and he rushed from room to room, making as much money as he can per hour. That may not be the case, but it's how I felt. He couldn't have been in the room for more than 5 minutes. He didn't look at the paperwork I had just filled out,m which explained my concerns, just was very abrupt about it all and left..... Just got the bill from my ins. company. All I can say is that if you go there, ask AHEAD of time what it will cost because you will be in for a real shocker and you may be in need of a heart Dr after reading it or maybe have to take an anger management class.... I am TOTALLY dissatisfied with how I was treated, and when Ieft I was angry that a Dr. would treat a patient that way. He was polite but had NO time to give me for any of my concerns...I felt like I was interupting him from his mission, whatever that was. And then to get the outragous bill I got....it's just wrong.... I STRONLGLY urge you to NOT go to Dr. Jacobs in Stockton. For the past forty years I have been using the serviceds of Dr. Jacobs to keep my skin cancers removed. I feel that without his great attention to my condition caused by years of farming with no hat and sun blocker, I would be deceased. He has been great and his staff is well trained and caring.
