"Check your invoices and request your clinical records."

[[HIGHLIGHT]]AVOID AVOID AVOID. If I could go back and listen to the little voice in my head telling me something was off, I would have left this clinic in late 2025.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was a founding member of Dr. Treat San Francisco from August 2022 - May 2026 and referred many neighborhood dog owners to this practice over the years. Following billing errors after my dog's March 2026 dental cleaning, I conducted a comprehensive audit of invoices, clinical summaries, lab results against the complete clinical record. What I found was deeply concerning and the issues I uncovered extended well beyond billing. Clinical concerns identified: - Anesthesia monitoring failures during a dental procedure under general anesthesia, including multiple alarms with no recorded intervention - A sedation procedure with no monitoring records - Laboratory tests billed but specimens never submitted to the laboratory - Vaccination records inconsistent with clinical documentation resulting in missed doses and unnecessary revaccination - A clinical encounter producing a prescription for an antibiotic-resistant infection with no follow-up plan or corresponding chart entry Billing concerns: - $1,178.80 in billing errors corrected only after my independent audit, none identified proactively by the practice - Additional $1,389.18 in billing errors with a denied refund request despite documentation sourced from the practice's own records I filed formal complaints with the California Veterinary Medical Board in June 2026 (Complaint 4602026002298 and 4602026002309). Additionally, Dr. Treat is no longer an independent practice. It is operated by SVP California LP within the Mission Pet Health/Southern Veterinary Partners network based in Birmingham, AL. This ownership change was not disclosed to members who auto-renewed annual memberships after February 2025. Current and former clients are encouraged to request complete clinical records and cross-reference them against invoices and visit summaries. Under California law (16 CCR §2032.3) records must be provided within 5 business days of a written request.

We are endlessly grateful to this incredible vet team for the many years of compassionate care they gave our dog, who lived with a heart murmur. From the very beginning to the final moments of her life, they treated her with genuine love, patience, and respect. It was clear that she wasn't just a patient to them--she was truly cared for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their kindness, honesty, and support meant everything to our family during both the hopeful and heartbreaking times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will always remember the care they gave her and the comfort they gave us. Truly remarkable people. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A big thank you to Dr Moffatt, Melissa, Shannon, Juno, Aiko, Alice and to all the sweet and kind nurses who cared for Cami during her multiple check ups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Anal gland fluid smeared

I took my dog Penelope in for a simple anal gland expression and nail trim. She's already a nervous dog, hence why I bring her to the vet vs groomers. Unfortunately, our experience here made things far worse. Before even taking Penelope back, the technician (Tia) roughly pulled her by the leash to weigh her, and immediately told me she would need sedatives just to trim her nails and express her glands due to her anxiety-before even attempting. Penelope is 6 and in her 6 years- I have NEVER been told this. As mentioned, I bring her to the vet BECAUSE she is anxious and I need it done efficiently and quickly. What was especially frustrating was the amount of time spent going back and forth about whether Penelope could be treated -- time that could've been spent actually helping her. When she was finally returned to me, she had anal gland fluid smeared all over her backside and down her legs. It even got on my clothes when I picked her up -- which was both unsanitary and unacceptable. The annual membership, is a complete scam based on the quality of care received. If you care about your animal, don't bring them here.

This is going to be a super long review! I stumbled upon Dr.Treat on Instagram and I'm so so glad I did. If you're on the fence about signing up, DO IT! Yes, $250 up front is steep but it's so worth it. An average vet fee is in 2022 is typically over $75 per visit. This pays for itself in just a few visits! They also have 24/7 telehealth. Just knowing that if anything were to happen to my dog at any time & Dr.Treat will be there to help gives me a really great peace of mind. When they say personalized pet care, they mean it! All members also get a free genetic test upon signing up. They also give members the cutest welcome box. It included a really fancy coffee mug and a cute dog toy :) Now on to the actual visit! Their office is super modern and really built with customers & their pets in mind. The space is clean and comfortable! It reminded me of a fancy tech office! When we entered, our dog was immediately given a bandana with a calming lavender spray on it. They also diffuse this scent throughout their whole clinic! The receptionist was so friendly and chatted with us about their future plans for Dr.Treat. The vet tech we met with did a great job at asking us questions, prepping the vet, and taking our dog's heartbeat, weight, etc. A small detail I really appreciated was that the dog scale was flush to the floor and wasn't something dogs had to step on. We met with Dr.Sanchez and she was so patient and kind. Our dog is pretty timid when it comes to the vet so I really appreciated how Dr.Sanchez got down to her level and was so warm and friendly. They explained what procedures they were going to do and why they were going to do them extremely clearly to me. The visit felt super personalized and we did not feel rushed or pressured into anything at all. A few days later I received a call from Dr.Sanchez letting me know the results of my dog's blood draw. She explained it in a way that anyone could understand! I have no biology or veterinary term knowledge at all and she took the time to explain every single result to me. She let me know what next steps I could take but not once did I feel pressured into agreeing. The app is also so easy to use! I personally dislike having to call to make appointments so the fact that I can simply log on to my app and schedule an appointment genuinely makes the world of a difference. :)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The vets and vet techs here are so kind and helpful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm quite a hypochondriac on behalf of my cat and we seem to never get thorough, compassionate care at any vet we've visited - until Dr. Treat! My cats first visit with Dr. Alfaro was great. She took plenty of time to talk to me about his medical history and any concerns I have and set up some health goals for him. We're also in and out of the office without ever having to wait. Love Dr. Treat!

The team squeezed me in for a last minute appointment before traveling. Thank you Kirsten and Dr. Lee!!

Dr. Treat is awesome!! I was in a bind this week watching a friend's dog and needed to get in to see a vet ASAP. I called an hour before they closed and they were able to get me in the next morning. The team is super professional yet warm. I was actually surprised by how responsive and helpful everyone was especially given my time-sensitive request and being a new patient. Their model is tech-forward and personalized (like a One Medical for dogs!) which made for a seamless, no-stress visit. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new vet!

This is the fancy lobby where we wait for our pet to return! your pet is in great, compassionate hands

Does anyone know if Dr. Treat prefers to answer questions here or via email at their e-mail address: hello@drtreat.com or Drtreat.com/sign-up? anyway, I have multiple questions so I e-mailed them for now. Will come here if I don't get a response.
