This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a veterinary clinic. At first, the clinic promotes an annual plan that seems beneficial. However, in every single visit, they try to push unnecessary products and treatments. They often charge for medications and procedures before test results even come back, which makes absolutely no sense -- you end up paying for something that may not even be needed. I am a Portuguese speaker, and whenever I attended appointments without my husband (who speaks fluent English), the bills were significantly higher. In moments of concern for my pet, I felt pressured and ended up paying. Only later, at home, did I realize how excessive and abusive those charges were. This week's incident was the worst of all. My plan was about to expire, and they called me to schedule a "vaccine appointment." However, my pet was completely up to date with all vaccines -- done at the same clinic, so they had full access to this information. When I arrived 15 minutes late, they initially refused to see me -- which I understood. But the moment I mentioned that my dog was pregnant, their attitude changed immediately. Clearly, a pregnant pet became a financial opportunity. They offered only one option: a procedure involving sedation, lasting 5-6 hours, just to determine the number of puppies. The cost? $1,700. My dog is extremely calm and gentle -- sedation was unnecessary for a basic evaluation. When I declined, they refused to even take a simple look at her. I explained that she had been scratching more than usual and that I was concerned about her mammary area. All I asked for was a quick visual check -- something that would take less than five minutes. They refused. So they were willing to spend hours performing an expensive procedure, but not even a few minutes to check on her basic condition. This made it very clear: their priority is money, not the well-being of animals. They create the illusion of care and professionalism, but if you are not well-informed before your visit, you will likely be pressured into spending large amounts of money unnecessarily. Do not be fooled by the nice structure or the ease of scheduling. You may think you are saving with their plans, but you will end up paying far more in unnecessary treatments. I left feeling extremely frustrated, worried, and disappointed. I am still concerned about my dog, and they couldn't even provide a basic evaluation or answer simple questions -- like whether I could safely give her a bath. They spent nearly an hour trying to sell me an expensive procedure, but couldn't spend five minutes actually helping. I strongly do NOT recommend this clinic. read more

Great vets, but everyone else that works here is absolutely awful. I have never been treated so disrespectfully before in my life. The first time I went, I had brought in my dog for her annual exam. Did it, had to come back to get her vaccines. Two days later when I came back in, was there for the vaccines. The vet tech came after me about not bringing my dog every year to get checked and was so rude to me. Mind you I just went two days before to my dog checked and was all good. Hence the reason I was back. For having to spend over $800 and being treated like cr*p I thought this place would be better. I submitted this feedback and heard nothing back. I took my dog Penelope in for a simple anal gland expression and nail trim. She's already a nervous dog, hence why I bring her to the vet vs groomers. Unfortunately, our experience here made things far worse. Before even taking Penelope back, the technician (Tia) roughly pulled her by the leash to weigh her, and immediately told me she would need sedatives just to trim her nails and express her glands due to her anxiety-before even attempting. Penelope is 6 and in her 6 years- I have NEVER been told this. As mentioned, I bring her to the vet BECAUSE she is anxious and I need it done efficiently and quickly. What was especially frustrating was the amount of time spent going back and forth about whether Penelope could be treated -- time that could've been spent actually helping her. When she was finally returned to me, she had anal gland fluid smeared all over her backside and down her legs. It even got on my clothes when I picked her up -- which was both unsanitary and unacceptable. The annual membership, is a complete scam based on the quality of care received. AVOID DR. TREAT - AVOID AVOID AVOID If I could leave minus 5 stars I would. This clinic made me feel like my puppy was a revenue target, not a patient. I took my 4-month-old puppy in with bloody diarrhea and nonstop ear scratching. I asked multiple times for his skin and ears to be checked and was told, "that's not a thing." No real ear exam was done. Instead, I was handed a plan with over $3,000 in tests and told hospitalization with IV fluids was the answer with almost no explanation and no discussion of alternatives. It genuinely felt like there was a revenue quota driving decisions rather than medicine. They advertise the lab work results take 24 hrs and they took DAYS in providing a crucial test result while they had pushed for another test. I switched clinics. In one visit, the new vet provided the adequate treatment for the late diagnostic Dr. Treat neglected. The new vet found an ear infection, adjusted meds and my puppy started improving in less than 12 hrs. Exactly what I had been asking about from the beginning. The combination of being dismissed, pushed toward thousands in tests, and seeing obvious symptoms ignored was infuriating. Dr. Treat and their useless $149 annual membership is too good to be true. Their real revenue drive comes from their practices of prolonging your pet's suffering with insane tests. If your gut tells you something is off, get a second opinion. I wish I had sooner. 2 vets seems genuinely knowledgeable. I question their ethics though, just by working on this horrible money trap. They play with animal welfare. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Treat. My dog Bubba underwent surgery at the Union St. facility to have several teeth removed in 2023. After the surgery, the tooth in question (that was falling out & prompted me to take him there in the first place) never was removed! Bubba then had to undergo another surgery to finish the work that wasn't done. I didn't know this at the time, but he was reportedly kept under anesthesia well past my knowledge. I recently learned via reports that the vet who performed the initial surgery was not qualified to do oral surgery and it was the veterinarian's first day at the clinic. In addition to that, there was serious concern about *how Bubba's teeth were extracted and none of that information was disclosed to me after the surgery. I encourage anyone who is considering joining Dr. Treat to do your due diligence, know EXACTLY what you're paying for & ask for verification/licensing from the veterinarians/ technicians. Also, don't hesitate to get a second opinion from other practices to determine if what Dr. Treat is recommending for your pet is actually necessary & in the pet's best interest. After this experience, I called 3x to try and cancel my membership. And I was told it was done. Yet, more than a year & a half later (when I called again to get some of Bubba's prior documentation sent over) I was told my membership was never canceled. This review is long overdue. If I could give zero stars, I would. We experienced ongoing problems with communication, pricing, and care. Recently, our dog had a lump under her tail tested by Dr. Treat. The sample was sent for pathology, but weeks went by with no update. Despite us calling multiple times, no one followed up until Dr. Treat finally called back -- only to admit she didn't even realize the sample had been sent. She claimed the lab lost it, but it was clear they never would have checked if we hadn't kept pushing for answers. Even without results, Dr. Treat immediately recommended surgery to remove the lump without knowing what it was, its exact location, or the complexity of the procedure. This felt careless and profit-driven rather than in the best interest of our dog's health. When we switched to a new vet, they quickly obtained the pathology results, which confirmed the lump was a tumor that required a specialist due to its placement and surgical risks. The delay and lack of communication at Dr. Treat wasted valuable time and could have caused serious harm if we had followed their recommendation. Additionally, during my dog's dental surgery, I received no updates from the doctors, even though I was told I would get text notifications. The procedure ended up being more intense than expected, and since my dog is older, clear and timely communication was critical. Instead, I had to call 4-5 times while she was under anesthesia just to understand what was happening and when I could pick her up. The lack of updates during such a stressful and high-risk situation was unacceptable. On top of the poor communication, their pricing was inflated. For example, we had the exact same fine needle aspiration test performed by our new vet, including pathology. At the new clinic, the cost was lower -- and unlike Dr. Treat's clinic, it did not require paying an additional membership fee. It was frustrating to realize we had been overpaying for substandard care. I did discuss these concerns with the manager, and she was very kind and understanding. My dog has been a client for over 5 years and we have been happy with the vet care we have received from Dr. Alfaro here at Dr. Treat. She is wonderful with our dog. That said, the service and care surrounding it is really poor. You can't get a call into the front desk, you get ported to the online service portal "hello @ dr treat" that never responds, and they now force you to use their own internal pharmacy program. If you don't, you have to physically pick up the prescription and bring it to a pharmacy on your own. Nope - they will not electronically assist you like your human physicians do. The amount of time managing our dogs care with Dr. Treat outweighs the benefit of the care Dr. Alfaro gives her. We are moving to a new clinic that values both service and care. I have been taking my dog to Dr. Treat for about a year and a half and really like it (as does my dog, who loves the people and treats there!). Dr. Moffatt has been our favorite but all of the vets are great. The membership is extremely worth it in my opinion - pays for itself after roughly 2 visits per year, and I appreciate not having to consider whether something is "worth the visit" due to unlimited visits and 0 exam fees. The app is great too and easy to schedule same or next day appointments. Biggest complaint (and reason for only giving 4 stars) is that there have been some minor issues with the app. The way it shows when your dog has last gotten a vaccine or is next due for something is not very intuitive or user friendly. There have been 2 times already where it said I was due for something, but when I went in for the appointment, they told me it was incorrect. Also, you sometimes need to guess on the "right" appointment type for something it says is due - would be great to click through and have it schedule you fore exactly what they're claiming your due for. I also wish there was a more central location in the app to view an overarching health record with latest values or changes over time vs needing to go into each previous appointment's notes to find something. These are minor and hopefully on the roadmap for the future, but all-in-all, I have been very happy with Dr. Treat! read more

I'm writing this review because I want other new dog owners to know that there are better options out there. I received a free year of Dr. Treat with a Muttville adoption and decided to use it because finding a vet was daunting. The short version is that I would not recommend this place because it's very expensive for just average to subpar care. After spending over $8000 in one year, I did not feel confident in their ability to diagnose and treat my dog. Here are some specific instances: While examining my dog's teeth for an upcoming dental extraction, our vet only looked at one side of his mouth. I asked about a very obvious brown front tooth and his response was "Oh I didn't see that, that's definitely rotten and will need to come out as well." I'm not sure how he missed it because it looked bad to me and this is my first dog. My dog is allergic to chicken and that was one of the first things we addressed at Dr. Treat. Months later, our vet gave us a joint supplement containing chicken. When I bought this up, he was apologetic but his exact response was "I always assumed it was just chicken flavouring and not actual chicken." Assumed? If I hadn't checked the ingredients, my dog would've had a serious reaction. After my dog had surgery, we scheduled a virtual recheck. I entered the video call portal at the correct time, waited for 15 minutes, then contacted Customer Service through the app (it's weirdly hard to call the clinic directly) and told them I had to leave. They confirmed that I was there during the correct time, apologized, and said they'd let the team know. 5 minutes later, I got a phone call from the front desk saying I missed my appointment and asking me to log on. This was frustrating. One of these stars is for the customer relations team who are always friendly and lovely when we arrive. I'll give another star because the vets are very gentle in handling my dog during appointments. I can tell they're kind to animals, but unfortunately being kind is not the same as providing thorough and effective vet care. Dr. Treat isn't actively terrible, they'll do a baseline decent job if your pet has no serious medical issues. This is going to be a super long review! I stumbled upon Dr.Treat on Instagram and I'm so so glad I did. If you're on the fence about signing up, DO IT! Yes, $250 up front is steep but it's so worth it. An average vet fee is in 2022 is typically over $75 per visit. This pays for itself in just a few visits! They also have 24/7 telehealth. Just knowing that if anything were to happen to my dog at any time & Dr.Treat will be there to help gives me a really great peace of mind. When they say personalized pet care, they mean it! All members also get a free genetic test upon signing up. They also give members the cutest welcome box. It included a really fancy coffee mug and a cute dog toy :) Now on to the actual visit! Their office is super modern and really built with customers & their pets in mind. The space is clean and comfortable! It reminded me of a fancy tech office! When we entered, our dog was immediately given a bandana with a calming lavender spray on it. They also diffuse this scent throughout their whole clinic! The receptionist was so friendly and chatted with us about their future plans for Dr.Treat. The vet tech we met with did a great job at asking us questions, prepping the vet, and taking our dog's heartbeat, weight, etc. A small detail I really appreciated was that the dog scale was flush to the floor and wasn't something dogs had to step on. We met with Dr.Sanchez and she was so patient and kind. Our dog is pretty timid when it comes to the vet so I really appreciated how Dr.Sanchez got down to her level and was so warm and friendly. They explained what procedures they were going to do and why they were going to do them extremely clearly to me. The visit felt super personalized and we did not feel rushed or pressured into anything at all. A few days later I received a call from Dr.Sanchez letting me know the results of my dog's blood draw. She explained it in a way that anyone could understand! I have no biology or veterinary term knowledge at all and she took the time to explain every single result to me. She let me know what next steps I could take but not once did I feel pressured into agreeing. The app is also so easy to use! I went with my cat for labs today, the vet nurse was aggressive with me and made me feel unsafe. When I expressed my concern she said I could leave. They booked me for an appointment without discussing with me the night before and sent messages saying changes or cancellations would incur the $85 cost of the visit. They canceled my original appointment and said they had no record of it but would try to accommodate me. I would not recommend this vet to anyone and would even suggest changing vets if you go here. South Park Animal Hospital by Oracle Park has been a godsend, PLEASE GO THERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR BABIES, they literally saved my cat's life, Dr. Treat was happy to let him die since they already collected their payment from me. The star in this review is for Dr. Alex Lee and Tech Emily who was a kind, knowledgable and patient Doctor who did the best of his abilities to help my cat and provide recommendations for next steps of his care elsewhere, and the lovely and empathetic Tech Emily who handled my tears and sobs with such humanity. As far as the rest of the experience and team, I wish I could give 0 stars. As I sat sobbing nervously in the room they put me and my cat in, FIVE employees (in less than an hour) proceeded to use it as a hallway/walkthrough, opening the door to my room, seeing me occupying the room sobbing, and going "oops, sorry, didn't know you were in here" (there was literally a window into the room, they just didn't care to check or mark the room as occupied.) Then it happened again, and again, and again, each time thinking it would be the Doctor returning to speak with me to provide an update, but instead a team member using the room as a walkthrough. I joined the annual Dr. Treat membership ($150) Monday morning when I noticed my cat was not acting himself. I made a same day urgent care appointment. I saw Dr. Alex Lee who ultimately recommended I hospitalize my cat overnight at another emergency hospital for overnight care and monitoring. I walked out paying about $1,500 at Dr. Treat - which among other things included some take home food, take home medication, as well as a half day hospitalization fee. Because Dr. Lee recommended I have my cat hospitalized overnight for emergency care elsewhere, I did not end up being given any take home food nor medication that I was charged for, and my cat ended up only "hospitalized" with Dr. Treat for one hour instead of half of a day when they called me to come pick him up. Dr. Lee mentioned he would initiate refunding me for the food and meds I did not get. After not seeing a refund on my statement I emailed the Dr. Treat email address and did not hear back. Unfortunately, the following day the emergency hospital identified a foreign body in my cats intestines and suggested immediate emergency surgery. As Dr. Treat was our primary veterinarian, my mother called Dr. Treat immediately and left a tearful voicemail asking if they could operate on my cat, or if they had any recommendations for other hospitals they work with or recommend. She then sent a follow up email to them reiterating that this was a life or death situation and asked for a call back as soon as possible. After FIVE HOURS OF NOT HEARING A THING (luckily my cat had already gone into surgery elsewhere) I walked into the Union Street Dr. Treat office since no one was answering the phone or responding to us via email, I figured they must be slammed and overwhelmingly busy. Upon entering the lobby, it was empty - no patients or people in sight, except for the front desk staff who was refilling treat jars, dusting the benches, and twiddling their thumbs. Anything besides calling or emailing us back. I asked why I had not yet been refunded nor replied to, and asked why they did not feel the need to call back or respond to our urgent emails begging for help and advice as to where to take my cat to save his life. They had no answer for me, just AGAIN told me to email the same email address I had already been emailing without response. I emailed the address AGAIN and asked for a refund on the medication and food I did not receive, the membership fee as I had already decided they did not care about my pet or I enough to reply to us, and a partial amount of the hospitalization fee that was supposed to be for several hours/half a day and instead was 1 hour. Melissa responded to me with nothing but excuses - "we didn't have room for any procedures" "we say it may take 24 hours to reply" "you signed an agreement to pay for the hospitalization" etc. Regardless of if you had the capacity, if you reserve the right to have 24 hours to respond, or if I signed and paid an amount for what the team suggested my cat needed but was not delivered - none of these are excuses to disregard our emails and voicemails and pleas for help and move on and pretend they never happened. CLEARLY their team had ample time to give us a call or shoot us an email letting us know they did not have room to accommodate us in surgery since they were doing absolutely nothing when I walked in and had no reason for me as to why they did not reply, just excuses, excuses, and more excuses. It has never been more abundantly clear to me that a Vet's Office only cares about profit and corporatizing veterinary care and wringing every last dollar out of their patients. read more

We really enjoy our visits each time when we see and only see Dr. Tony Huynh. However, the -3 stars are for: - The app's user experience is terrible. There is no back button on any page. I can't find any previous appointment paperwork to share with other vets or dog daycares. - The phone number attached to their invoice and on their site redirects to the Pinoy team (people in the Philipines) or to an automated VM. It is insane to get ahold of someone at the SF office. If I am running late or if I have a quick question about the hours or anything small, it gets routed to VM. - The Pinoy team are not very knowledgeable on any medical terms or medicine in general. They have given me false info more than twice, and somehow they're still able to respond to customers baffles me. Besides the app and the communications at Dr Treat, some of the nurses at the SF location seem very green (don't want to call out names, dates, or details). - Sometimes the nurse will mention a price and then I get charged a different price. Guess what? I can't get ahold of anyone without going to the office in person. - When it comes to more than 1 pet, a certain nurse couldn't multitask, all the notes at the end of the day were all wrong, and we even found vaccine expiration dates to be 1970?! This place is terrible. After signing up you will be unable to easily chat with anyone from their team on the phone (not even front office!). Instead, you have to use their app where you can text with someone who is wholly unfamiliar with everything happening and will generally tell you they have to investigate and call uou back. Their marketing pitch was incredibly misleading. Though you do get free "exams," each of those may often require tests (eg blood, xrays) which are incredibly pricey. My dog Maizy has always hated going to the vet, and I decided to switch to Dr. Treat since it's much closer to my apartment. She had a wellness check and while she was nervous at first, all the staff were so nice and she quickly warmed up to them, even when they took her to the back to get vaccines, blood sample, and urine sample (previously she's been difficult during those procedures at our last vet). The following week, she went in to get her teeth cleaned for the first time and I was worried she would be traumatized from the experience and going under anesthesia but to my surprise, she LOVES the vet now! Whenever we pass by, she drags me to the door and sits/lies down, waiting to go in and get some belly rubs and treats from the receptionists (photo evidence attached). The receptionists have been so nice whenever she's done this, even when we don't have an appointment So far, our experience has been great! The only critique I'd give is that since they're still pretty new, their systems have some kinks in them. I received about 20 text message reminders for her dental cleaning, all with different times and dates. I just called to confirm what the correct appointment info was. This is by far the most incompetent veterinary clinic I've been to in 30+ years. They forgot to give my dog antibiotics before the surgery, increasing the chances of infection. They then forgot to order the antibiotics after the surgery, thereby once again increasing chances of infection. The surgery did not make my dog better. Not enough reason to avoid this place? Let me provide more. They advertise themselves as providing free exams. Not exactly true. While the exam itself is free, any lab work, xrays, etc will cost quite a bit (could be $700+ for xrays for example). I dont mind the expense as long as the clinic is competent...they are not. Their customer service is terrible. Ive called multiple times and many times feel like im talking to someone who has no clue about anything and will tell me he will investigate and call me back. Sometimes, i dont hear back and have to call to follow up. Even the pharmacist was surprised that she wasnt able to reach anyone at Dr Treat when she was trying to fill a prescription. I love this place. I just signed up yesterday and got an appointment today. I've been wanting to switch vets due to relocating to this area and I am SO GLAD that I did! The staff is super friendly, and they are really straightforward with prices. They do NOT try and upsell you. They let you know what you could do ...just like if you were to go in for a physical exam after age 50, they would let you know that you should probably get a mammogram. It's the same kind of thing. Dr Treat has been our go to for over two years now and they are great to work with, especially Dr. Huang. I'm only writing this though because of the front desk representative being so rude on a call I had. They had a tone with me while on the call, was not friendly with trying to work out coordination questions I had, and hung up on me when we were wrapping up the call. Not cool. read more

My French Bulldog Gus is TERRIFIED of the vet. Was shaking like crazy when we first showed up and by the end was rolling around and playing with the front office staff. Everything was so clean and everyone was so nice. They are super upfront about costs for everything and making an appointment was super easy! I've never seen Gus so happy at a vets office. read more

My dog Axl was recently diagnosed with a tumor on his spleen. When my other vet was non-responsive in following up with me to discuss options, including euthanasia, I was able to book a last minute appointment with Dr. Treat and was seen by Dr. Lee. The compassionate care provided by Dr. Lee and Dr. Treat was exceptional. They confirmed the original diagnosis, but more importantly were able to clearly lay out the various options, including a thoughtful checklist to help you decide when was the right time to put down your pet. Dr. Lee and team were incredibly patient and kind, and treated Axl with the utmost care and respect. We felt much better about our decision when we euthanized our dog the following day. They even sent flowers the day we euthanized Axl. So thoughtful! I hope we'll have another pet someday soon. When we do Dr. Treat will be receiving all of our business. read more

Vets are great and membership is a good deal. I usually love this place. However, they say they are available for urgent care which is just not the case. My dog got bit while playing with another dog. They told me he would need antibiotics but couldn't see him today because they had other appointments. They also advised that I not wait to get antibiotics even a day. Was advised to take him somewhere else. This seems this would have been a very short appointment and if they advertise as an urgent care they should be available for urgent care. Very disappointing that they were unable to see my dog. However, I appreciated the advice that he needed antibiotics and not to wait. Interestingly they texted me 40 minutes later saying they could see him...by then I had already went across town to an emergency vet service and was waiting for service there. Unfortunate they couldn't realize this before I left the area and spent the additional money on seeing another vet, when this visit would have been covered with my membership fee... read more

It took me some time to complete this review to really think about our experience since this was the primary vet office for our dog. Unfortunately, my dog passed away a few weeks ago after a lot of things were missed by this vet's office. We adopted a dog from a local shelter and got a free one-year subscription to this vet office. The offices are clean and the staff is very friendly getting appointments is quick and with their app things are even more efficient. The membership covers the office visit so after a while it is supposed to pay for itself. Nothing is free I noted that the cost of the office visit is added everywhere else for example in the price of meds, X-rays, or blood work, I paid on average 20-100 dollars extra. The Vets here are ok but overall not the best. If you have a dog that has minor issues they will be ok. I would not recommend bringing a shelter dog here after our experience. We did the Senior Annual when we first got our dog and this vet missed so many things that ended up reducing the life of our dog. They had missed a heart condition and a collapsed trachea. We brought him a few more times and despite the vet checking his heart during the intake it was still missed. He always had a lingering cough and this vet did not seem interested in it. When we noted the possible condition we were not fully informed on the severity of the condition. We should have scheduled a second consult elsewhere but by the time we made this decision, it was too late. We took him here one last time for X-rays which ended up coming up blurry but we were told little and were sent home with some minor meds. When we got the call about the X-ray results they were vague and they did not note how dangerous this condition can become which was disappointing. When we left urgent care my dog was coughing violently and they did not seem concerned they gave me meds and wanted a follow up in a week. This escalated to a life-threatening condition and we had to rush him to the ER with respiratory distress there we were told the reality of this situation. The X-rays done at Dr. Treat were subpar. In the ER these were repeated and we were informed of the severity of his enlarged heart and level of collapsed trachea. If all these issues were caught earlier we may have been able to put him on preventive meds to help with issues. After 3 days in the ER and multiple consults, it was determined that my dog would not return to baseline and was at risk of suffocating due to the severity of this collapsed trachea. The enlarged heart mixed with his collapsed trachea was a recipe for disaster which made all issues worse to the point of no return. After days in an oxygen chamber and multiple meds, he passed away. I regret bring him here and wish I would have ripped the free membership and thrown it away. read more

This place could have been so much better. It's an okay place to visit if you have questions about your pet's diet and need general advice about pet care but if your pet has a genuine medical issue consider other options. My first visit was because my dog had a foxtail. Dr.Treat was unable to offer any treatment and suggested I seek out a surgeon. I was grateful for their honesty and searched for another vet (not a surgeon) who successfully extracted the foxtail from my dog's paw. My second visit was to address my dog's ears and to determine if he had an ear infection. The vet and his assistant were unable to calm my pet in order to swab the inside of his ear. As a result, the vet recommended sedating my pet for an ear cleansing. The cost estimate was $800. A few hours later, I was able to get an appointment with another vet who soothed my dog and performed an ear scope all without sedation and at a fraction of the $800 cost. The folks at Dr.Treats are very friendly and quite generous with their dog treats. The vet I saw was pleasant but in no way did he inspire confidence. The visit was a waste of time. read more

I took my cat Kiki to Dr Treat a few days ago and all I can say is WOW - all our animals deserve this level of care. Kiki does not like going to the vets at all, but every person we dealt with was so kind, competent, and loving that it made the whole process feel (almost!) completely stress-free. They had asked beforehand what her favorite treats were and not only gifted us a bag, but also used treats throughout the appointment to help her get through some of the checks she doesn't like. She loved it! Dr Moffatt (the lead vet) and her team were simply brilliant. They took the time to really understand Kiki's history, asked lots of questions, and explained everything they were doing and any tests that needed to be run. It felt like a far cry from my previous vets when I barely got to speak to the main vet and the battery of tests that were being run for $$$ went largely unexplained. This is a team that clearly cares very deeply about the work they're doing and the pets and people that they serve. A few other nice things: - The offices were clean, bright, and welcoming - it felt like a One Medical office for pets. They even had a little "cat nook" so kitties could be sheltered away from dogs if needed! - The online portal for booking appointments, reviewing after visit summaries, filling out prescriptions etc was all very modern and easy to use. - They were able to charge the credit card I had saved to my profile so was able to just walk out at the end (obviously they explained to me what I would be charged and why!). And you can always view the invoice afterwards in the portal. I highly, HIGHLY recommend you get a membership to this place and treat your pet (and yourself!) to this level of care. read more

Horrible experience at best. Dr treat marketing is good. But most of our visits were frustrating and sub par. Please look elsewhere. For our visit with our two rescue BFF wonderful pups today: Start with the tech saying "I'm not going to get near your rabies dog" for a rescue dog that has documented city full vaccinations when we rescued her from SFACC. Second that same pup that is due for puppy bloodwork has vet anxiety, and they neglected to say we needed trazodone (in addition to the gabapentin we gave in advance) for the blood draw. The technicians are rude. Third trip for this pup to Dr Treat just to try and get a puppy blood draw. Blood spurting incompetent techs. Rushed, no caring quality time with the animal or their human. Second pup's visit today for simple nail clipping was no better. We will never go back. (And of course it was $700 even though they didn't do anything. But, to be clear, this review is not complaining about fees. Vets are expensive.) We are finding another vet for our two perfect rescue pups. Strongly suggest you avoid this "franchise concierge vet" and go to SF Animal Medical Center on Fillmore. read more

The location and facilities were very nice. I do like the business model dr.treat has, a concierge vet service. I took my dog Louie in for his first visit but after completing my visit, I noticed their prices were much higher than my previous vet who was only a couple blocks down on Lombard. Very surprised about the price difference for routine vaccines such as lepto and canine influenza. Regardless it will be nice to have an emergency vet clinic to visit in the interim, but given how pricey they are I don't know if I will be going for routine checkups and vaccines. read more

What an amazing vet. I switched to Dr. Treat after some issues with my previous vet messing up important things like puppy vaccine schedules and medication dosage. It's a pain for me to get here because I live 35 minutes away each way, but I'm so happy to make the drive. I initially came in for an urgent issue and called the office. The lady on the phone so was friendly and helpful in getting me set up with a membership and I was able to get in the same day. The staff and doc at the clinic are amazing. They make you feel like a celebrity every time you walk in the door. I have now been there 3 times in the course of 8 days for a second issue and a followup to the first one. I came in today and 3 or 4 girls all come out shouting my dog's name and showering her with love. Two followed her around from the waiting room to the exam room and back, endlessly spoiling her with treats and love. The amount of positive energy in this place something you need to experience to understand. In addition to all the fun stuff for the pets and your emotions, they also make it a good experience with respect to other important stuff. They are upfront about costs, thorough with their examinations, and always make sure you have time to get all your questions answered with a thorough and thoughtful response. I never felt pressured or rushed in any way, and I always felt like everyone there genuinely cares about both you and your pet. It's so good I almost don't want to post a review so I can keep this place all to myself. read more

I already knew that Dr. Alfaro was amazing because she's been giving my dog amazing medical care for years, but I wanted to post a special thanks to her, as well as Erica, for taking my dog in after closing tonight, after my dog was attacked by another dog at the park. Dr Treat had just closed and Dr Alfaro and Erica were about to leave when I ran in begging them to help my dog who had just been attacked. They graciously agreed to clean his wounds even though they were one foot out the door. Rather then making me come back the next day for treatment since they were closed, Dr Alfaro ran back to grab him antibiotics and pain meds, and Erica kindly agreed to stay an extra 20 minutes or so to cleanup and his wound. It was extremely above and beyond and I'm truly so blown away by and grateful for their care and dedication to their work and their clients. My baby will go to sleep in a little less pain tonight, and on the mend, thanks to their generosity and kindness. read more
