Fairly new to the area, in search of a dim sum place to satisfy the craving should it creeps up... Growing up Chinese in the Toronto area and multiple trips to Hong Kong and Vancouver over the past 30 years+, I have had good and not-so-great dim sum. This place is below par in my book...I got excited when I saw "shrimp rice roll" in the menu to discover it is the frozen T&T ones which I can get from the Superstore (the imprint from the plastic tray was a giveaway). This place is good for anyone who may not have had as much dim sum experience as myself etc, but for anyone who have had hundreds of dim sum meals, I would advise checking out the place across the street from KLW... The restaurant looks newish. The dim sum menu is limited. We ordered: - Shrimp & pork dumplings (sui mai). They were ok. Nothing special. - Shrimp dumplings (har gow). Not a fan of that type of wrapper but they were tasty. - Shanghai pork dumpling- very tasty. Enjoyed the light ginger flavour. - Pork dumplings - just a lump of minced pork. No real flavour. - Black bean chicken feet. Are larger than usual bc they use the ones that are cut higher up the leg. While they were properly cooked, there was no black bean taste at all. Kind of disappointing. - Tofu skin pork rolls. These were good. Lots of stuff in there besides minced pork. Had things been more seasoned, we would have given them a higher score. But at this point we can't give them more than a 3.5. read more

Secured a table on Lunar New Year day (2026) for dinner. Busy night, of course, but service and food were timely. The food was tasty, as always. Adding to the receptive atmosphere, the owner checked on our table a couple of times, to ensure everything was to our liking. It was! A trip to Dragon King never seems to disappoint. read more

The restaurant looks nice, and the hot & sour soup is pretty good. No brown rice available. Sweet & sour pork has scant pineapple, green peppers, and onions; mostly just the battered pork with little sauce. Asked for honey garlic (spareribs) sauce on their fried chicken wings, but the substitute chef refused. Too bad; real honey garlic wings are phenomenal. Otherwise, the servers were pleasant and prompt, and my to-go order was received in an agreeable amount of time. read more

Service is terrible. No one greeted me upon arrival, or managing other customers. Line up at the door with customers waiting to be seated, food delivery drivers waiting for orders, and those there for takeout (me). Was told order would be ready at 5:20pm, I was there at 5:15 pm, however I did not get food until 6:00pm. No acknowledgment of wait despite knowing I was there long after. Food was not what I ordered. Food was cold and greasy. Atmosphere was terrible given how upset other customers were. Staff were seemingly hiding from customers given how poorly things were going. First and only time here, so maybe caught them on a bad night... they seemed incredibly understaffed, as I only saw two staff attempting to manage the chaos. read more

This is my husband and my new favourite Chinese restaurant. It is consistently good, with quality food. The service is great. We are never disappointed with Dragon King. The lettuce wraps are wonderful, as is Beef Chow Fan. Everything is delicious, actually. You cannot go wrong eating here. Hope this review is helpful. read more

Arrived at 1:50pm and was seated. Wait 10 minutes for the server to return. Asked for a dim sum menu and I was told dim sum was only until 2pm. We traveled for from West Kelowna to eat there. This place has disappointed me several times before. I told them I will not be returning. They willing let my family and I walk out. Last time! read more

Nice spot in Kelowna for Chinese food. The food is quite westernized, but decent and great value of $40 for two people. For the two person combo, you can swap two dishes for two alternatives from a list. The dining room is spacious and the waitress was friendly. Also, lots of parking is available. read more

New location!! Dragon King moved recently to this location and it's more spacious and elegant! The restaurant is located inside the same complex as the Kanata Kelowna Hotel & Conference Centre. There are ample parkings in the complex. Dragon King has become our go to Dim Sum Restaurant when we are in town, besides the food, it's the staffs that brought us back every time. All the staffs here are very friendly and helpful. Both Joy and Maria are very attentive even when they are extremely busy ( especially when they are dealing with the tour groups ), and at times we order take out, they always make sure we have all the cutlery & sauces. With our latest visit we also got to know Celia (owner), her courtesy and her cheerful personality adds to the experience of having an enjoyable meal and friendly atmosphere at the same time! I am sure this will be again the new focal point for Dim Sum and great Chinese dishes in Kelowna!! read more

We had an amazing time dining here for dim sum. The food was really good and the service was friendly. I miss dim sum so much since leaving Vancouver and it's awesome to have some options in Kelowna. I wish there were more dim sum selections but this is a great alternative to get your dim sum fix! Will be back again. read more

Was in Kelowna for the long weekend on a much needed family reunion of sorts. We had converged for a loved one's celebration of life and afterward we came here for a group dinner. The staff were absolutely fabulous. They accommodated all of our needs and requests with such grace. I don't think we were too crazy but I appreciated all they did for us. Then came the food. Well. Pleasantly surprised. Food was good, not Silver Dragon good but still a great destination if you are a Dim Sum fan. We had sticky rice, shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings (just ok), black bean spare ribs, black pepper beef Shanghai noodles, pan fried pork dumplings and salt n pepper squid. If this is the best Chinese food in Kelowna, I'll do without. For 4 people we ordered the dinner for 3 (subbing beef & broccoli for the chop suey) and an order of ginger beef. The beef & broccoli was probably the best item, with fresh broccoli & tender meat, but not much flavour. The spring rolls, fried rice & chow mein were bland, and while the sauces for the sweet & sour pork and the ginger beef were fairly tasty, the meat was mostly awful - dry, overcooked & chewy. There was the odd piece that was moist & tender, but otherwise almost inedible. Overall a very disappointing experience & we will not be back. read more
