I recently had an incident where a curry they made was too spicy. When you order online, you have the option to select your desired level of heat. We had ordered a Level 1, which is the lowest, because it was for our daughter. We have eaten here many, many times and the Level 1 was always perfect. When we got our food home, however, it was far too spicy for her to eat. Even I couldn't eat it, and I usually like mine a little spicier. I am typically not a complainer; however, this time I did call to let them know, in the hopes that they would re-make it. Instead, they just chastised me for ordering curry if I didn't want it spicy. Finally, I convinced them to remake the dish and then drove back to the restaurant to pick it up (a 20 minute drive). When I got there, they wanted to charge me for the remade dish. I was pretty incredulous, given that it was their mistake and that they had already given me the gears over the phone for ordering a mild curry. Finally, they let me take the dish without paying. Another time, I ordered and my husband picked it up. When he arrived, they handed him the order and told him to have a nice evening, so off he went assuming I had charged it to my credit card. I had not. I assumed he had paid when he picked it up. He had not. Blissfully unaware, we enjoyed our meal. Later on, we received a phone call from the restaurant letting us know that no one had paid for the order. This was completely accidental on our part, and ultimately it was the restaurant's mistake. Since I live and work in a different area of town, it took me a few days to get back in to pay. They called me every single day to remind me. Shouldn't restaurants absorb the cost of a missed payment when it's their mistake? As much as I enjoy their food, I will likely not go back. They have a lot to learn about customer service.
