We just had the most amazing family dinner for our son who turned 25 and I can't say enough about Megan our waitress. She's not only On point, kind curious, friendly, organized but remembered everybody's names of 18 people in our group. She was the best waitress I've ever had honestly. Went there for lunch the previous year and the best thing is the veiw and with the restaurant was big, airy and bright. I thought the food was decent - my chicken thigh burger was tasty and messy of course! My hubby had a burger and it was piled up high and I don't recall what hubby's sister had and his dad had. The sister had been there before and enjoyed the appies. The server was friendly and was the one to recommend the chicken thigh burger which definitely didn't disappoint. Came here after a date searching for one more drink and a better dessert. We sat on the patio late in the evening so it was relatively quiet and not hot. Our server was sweet and friendly. The view was absolutely stunning. I ordered a delicious sauv blanc which was very nice. Hubs ordered a non alcoholic beer which we think was served in a soapy glass, sadly. He was not a fan. We also ordered the homemade pie which was blueberry rhubarb. Sadly also disappointing, the pastry was pretty good but the filling was too tart. As we didn't order any food, I would still come back and try again, but it definitely left us still searching for a better dessert. read more

A perfect location with a decent size patio overlooking Lake Skaha. Naturally, due to the location it gets very busy, and there can be a long wait to get a table outside. However, there is plenty of room inside with lots of TVs showing many different sports. Food is average overall. Some is very good, like the nacho appetizer, and tacos, but I found the burger to be too dry and nothing special. Drink service can be quick and it can be slow. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our first drink, a second arrive minutes later. Overall I would go back because the location is fantastic, and despite service hiccups, we still had an enjoyable dinner. read more

Went to this pub after a 2 hour e-bike ride. This is on the shores of Lake Skaha. It was busy and the patio and view were fantastic. I found the pizzas very good. Thin and crisp crust. They lots of variety of beer and wine since you are in wine country. Seating was not a problem. read more

Came to this new Pub today! I'm excited for this new establishment for this area. Had the spring rolls, jalapeño poppers, grilled cheese & burger with GF bun. Everything was sooooooo good! All the food that came from the kitchen looked really delicious. The margaritas are good & the beer on other tables looked awesome. Kid friendly. The views are awesome! We come to Penticton a few times a year to visit family. We have frequented this establishment multiple times with very good service, but today changed all that. Immediately as we were seated our regular server was rude and abrupt. First my wife asked for a drink menu and it was treated as an imposition to get us a second menu. We then waited a good 20 minutes before we flagged down another server that was from a different section to take our drinks orders. Things looked to be turning around. We ordered food and about 20 min later, when it came, it was the wrong order. We sent it back. Then, my wife noticed our orginal server giving us the hairy eyeball and talking to another server, presumably about us. What had we done? We came in, we sat down, and we wanted to have a few drinks and a bite to eat. Instead we got rude service. At this point we decided to just head home as this was not going well. Our alternate server did comp the few drinks we had. She was pretty great considering the situation. She cancelled our food order and we left. I would say she tried her best to correct a bad situation but this dining experience was lost. We left with my wife in tears. My wife has social anxiety and does not go out often. Interactions like the one we had today, just make her want to stay home more, as it drew attention to usand was very uncomfortable. We were having a good day until this. Thank you Dragonboat for ruining our day! This is strike one, two and three! You are out! I will spread the word that this place is not worth the trip. They seem to be trading on their location, but that only goes so far. Pretty soon, someone else has a better location with better service. I'm sure it's already out there. If you like rude service that takes forever with mediocre food, by all means check this place out. They will treat you like garbage if that's what you're into. On the other hand, if you want good, friendly service, find another place. To the wonderful young server that ended up helping us. I would find another pub to work at. I'm sure there are much better places that will appreciate your hospitality and commitment to customer service. read more

The bar manager on duty had no customer relations training or sense of customer needs. Came in right at 4 pm Saturday, my wife and I walked to the pub, for happy hour and he told us straight out no and was rude about it. No sorry or friendly response. I just left this place in tears. It started with the server being upset that I didn't know what I wanted to order to drink. The server was completely impatient until she realized I didn't have a drink menu. I laughed it off. She never came back to our table. I then asked another server if she could help us. She did. She was lovely. We placed our drink and food order with her. When our food arrived, about 20 minutes later, it was wrong. We asked for it to be corrected. It was 20 minutes later and our correct order still had not arrived. In the interim I saw our original server and our server whispering between themselves. That was the last straw. I do not need any "extra" sauces with my food. We asked to just pay for our drinks and just leave. They comped our drinks but that was not the point. I can easily pay for my drinks and probably for the whole place if I choose to. Will not be returning and I will spread the word far and wide. Do not go to this place. They obviously feel like they don't need your patronage. read more

Stopped in on a weekday for early happy hour. I'd say happy hour is their thing. Good happy hour drinks. Nice margs. Food was a 30 minutes wait even though it didn't seem busy but they did tell us when we arrived. Had a lovely table outside overlooking the lake. Beef dip and fries was seem average. The cauliflower quesadilla however was gross.It is supposed to be a mexican dish yet they put curried cauliflower in it and served it with salsa and sour cream. Opening weekend and it was very busy. Food took a whole but understandable given that it was busy and opening weekend. The calamari was excellent and the mushroom Swiss burger was solid. Partner had the fish and chips and said it was on par with barley mill but not as good as buy the see. Patio is quite nice, and has heaters for the colder days. read more

We were really excited to try the Dragonboat Pub and went on Canada Day. We were not impressed with the food and probably will wait a few months before we try it again. Nachos We ordered the Nachos without beef. They were a good size but the cheese was not fully melted and the sour cream and salsa was only a couple table spoons big. They could have used more cheese and been cooked longer. Pulled Pork Sandwich Lots of pulled pork, not enough sauce so it didn't have much taste and the bun was too thick. Ham and Pineapple Pizza Nothing special. Felt like they used a frozen dough and the cheese wasn't melted. Seasonal Salad The salad had a light dressing and could have used more. It was nothing to write home about. It could have used more flavour. Drinks The drink selection was great however we were confused that their special for Canada Day was Jell-O shots. This place has great atmosphere but the food is not great. The menu is also confusing because it's not laid out in sections, you have to keep flipping the page to figure out what you want. Made a first visit yesterday as a single patron to get a feel for the place. Must say, I was underwhelmed. The layout is a large, square, sterile room with the bar at one end and a patio facing the lake. I grabbed one of of the 5 or 6 barstools facing a blank wall (very poor room design and lack of consideration for single customers), and after a full 10 minutes had been neither acknowledged, greeted nor offered a drink. Decided to take my business somewhere that the CUSTOMER is the focus. I predict that once the initial interest/curiosity for a new venue wears off and summer ends, this place will struggle to attract a regular customer base. Nothing special to see here, folks. My cousin took me to his hidden gem today... wow! Quick service, delicious food and the view from that side of Skaha Lake is beautiful. You can eat inside or out... and there's even a dog & owner entrance to access the outdoor seating. Attractive interior atmosphere... I will return! read more

I have been to the Dragon Boat Pub at least a dozen times now I've had breakfast there three times and dinners at least 9. The service is always been good when it's super busy and packed I expect a little weight of 15 minutes or so no biggie the view is beautiful. The layout is open so you can see the water no matter where you are. The food has always been excellent meets my expectations. Staff is friendly and willing to stop and chat for a couple minutes when they're not running food. Keith and the Gang will do well there. Keep up the good work read more

Tried it the other night, 4 of us, we all thought the food was okay, beef dip was lacking flavour, mushroom burger was dry, drinks service very slow. Tried it again tonight, stayed for 20 mins, not even a water as I sat in the sun. Moving on, I'll drive across Penticton and get a beer faster. read more

The location and building size offer plenty of potential, however, the interior layout is seriously unimpressive. A large, square, sterile room with a bar at one end that offers 5 or 6 barstools and a view of a blank wall. I grabbed one and after sitting there for a full 10 minutes hadn't been acknowledged, greeted, or offered a drink. I decided to take my business somewhere where the CUSTOMER is the focus. Extremely poor room design, especially if they're looking to attract any single customers who enjoy sitting at a bar at a lakeside pub. I predict that once the initial interest over a new venue wanes and summer ends, this place will struggle to attract and maintain a regular crowd. Nothing special about this place......
