We had accommodations for a proposal. It was confirmed with an employee that everything would be fine to do. Unfortunately at the last minute we had to scramble to change plans. All I asked was if they practiced industry pricing for other local golf course employees, i told him where I worked and I was told "it depends on when you want to play... we only reciprocate with courses that reciprocate with us" 1. Why would that make a difference it's a yes or no question 2. Why would you even say it depends if you're going to say the next sentence basically no. 3. Wild that I couldn't get a straight answer 4. The fairways and greens are well, but there's a few things that I think you should know Wen is if you're going to the range in the morning most likely it'll be muddy and wet when you hit the ball you'll have mud all over your legs, your pants and your shoes before you even start the game. They will from time to time allow people groups of 4×2 to start off on one single teatime to have eight working together while others are jammed up behind them for hours. Another thing is the court girl or car person does not smile at all brings down any motivation you may have if you're working on that. Their Phillies cheesesteak is steak with no cheese so ask for extra extra cheese if you wanna have any cheese at all. The golf carts will be back you constantly even when you're not doing anything wrong telling you to fix ball marks and just continually chiming on a nice relaxing day it will keep you busy with just noises after noise. God forbid you get off the course wrong then you'll be jammed up and stopped. If that doesn't bother you have fun. I'd enjoy nice fairways greens and a nice process and relaxing time so I can concentrate on my game and also forget about life. read more

Advertised as the "longest corse in CA" and absolutely zero water available on the corse. This is Fresno man... its hot. 18 holes and saw the cart girl twice. All and all a great corse but for $100 a round, they need to execute on the simple things. The greens also need some attention. 15-20 digits per green. So close to being an amazing corse. read more

I'm writing this in the hopes that someone at the course might read it and decide to give a shit. This is one of the most nicely laid out and scenic courses in the valley, at least that you can play without a membership. Staff are all nice, courteous and professional in all interactions I've ever had with them, even though they're mostly younger college age type kids. They're great though. You just get the constant sense that no one is really running the show here. First off no one seems to be in charge of making sure groups go off with proper spacing between them, and there's no one announcing who is up and who is on deck, and so it's always, ALWAYS slow. No matter what time you go off. The last few times I've been out there, I've ended up behind a fivesome. I go out as a single a lot and they never ever pair me with anyone. I don't get it. It's just kind of a cluster fuck all around. No marshal, ever, but that almost goes without saying. Meanwhile I don't know what the groundskeepers were attempting, but they mowed the aprons all the way down to nothing so the fringe on every green looks like road rash meets bad plastic surgery. Or like a chemical spill hit it. Both ugly and not super fun to play on. Even the greens are in absolute shit condition right now, but it was insanely hot all summer so I'll give them a mild pass on that one. For the most part it just seems like no one is running the show or gives a shit here. They had a tournament with like 300 people out here and no one thought to premake any sandwiches or burritos, they were in there trying to cook everything to order. Just lack of thought and carelessness all around. A shame, because this really is a beautiful course and it could be special with just a little leadership. read more

109$ today and the greens are terrible have been like this for a minute divots everywhere, leaves scattered on some of the greens you think they would keep a Milwaukee blower near the greens, cart girl never spun around to us it was 103 degrees out there. It Cost 350$ today for myself my brother and pops to play with two carts. I will change my review when the money is worth it gonna give it 2 months before I go back. Professionalism is key. Have never played here, and with my brother coming back from Army training, thought we'd try something new. I called and phone rang for about 3 min straight. Finally the receiver picked up and hung up immediately. I called back and got a busy tone. So I called one more time, and was greeted by a laughing woman. This didn't sit well with me after trying to talk to someone for some time. So, I mentioned trying to get through and being hung up on. It was completely silent, it got awkward so I mentioned that I wanted to set a tee time for the following Friday--about two weeks in advance. The woman on the line mentioned she cannot set up a tee time that far in advance... This course is charging close to $90 a round without cart I assume and cannot set a tee time for 2 weeks ahead? That's fine. I remained courteous and said bye. That whole interaction just left a bad taste in my mouth, didn't feel professional at all. So I called up Sherwood Forest GC and set up my tee time there. Friendly interaction and even put me down for a foursome in case I found additional players. You know, customer service. Que sera, sera I guess. Rating is based on first impression/interaction with staff and not on the quality of the greens or course. Will update this review when I play here. read more

Overprice; not in best condition around the greens. I use to love this place but recently the price does not reflect its condition. @ 1pm the green rates still at $92 if online and if not it will be $5 or $10 more (that's drink money already). Haven't played out here for a while. It used to be my go to course but it got so ridiculously busy with stacked up tee times and 5somes taking 5 hours for a round. Gave it a whirl again today and what a total shit show it was. At least 3 lots of 4 balls playing their own scramble tournament who were taking ages and then drunk guys blasting music out of the golf cart driving all over the course not knowing what the hell they were doing. Absolutely no Marshalls out there to do anything about it. We had to skip a few holes just so we could actually hit more than 1 shot every 20 minutes. Spoke to the person in the club house ( as a few others did) and he didn't give 2 shits. Pathetic. I won't be back. For $85 gi elsewhere. read more

Course was ok. Been to better with better rates. $218 for two and one cart. Little high for the quality of the course. The reason for two stars was, they seriously do not accept cash. I'm a cash guy and refuse to use credit cards. No mention was made of this when my son called for a tee time. Furthermore, we called for a tee time, I heard my son on the phone, and the time was not reserved for us. Staff looked miserable and very unhappy. Played a tournament here. Staff and manager took my bag off the cart I was using within 5 minutes of finishing the round. My entire bag was unzipped. Money missing from my clip. Loaded my bag back on the cart after I asked them to and that's when I realized what had happened. I know exactly what I had on me before playing and how much I spent and I shouldn't be missing $60. Not worth the $100 fees, especially if they rush you off your cart and go through your bag. read more

Not much choice for public courses in the Fresno area. This course definitely exceeds expectations however. Great course layout. Can play as long or short as you like. Always in very good shape given the weather here. Staff is great. Range could be in a little better shape but they get a ton of use. Always grass, never mats. Lots of money put into the place. Just put in a new $35K sun shield with fans for when you need to get out of the sun on the range. Carts have GPS which is a huge plus. For a public course, they definitely go above and beyond. Great value. Only complaint is the pace of play is very slow. Lots of 4-5somes that can barely play golf with heavy drinking involved. Won't let you play around. If you can go off in the evening, it's pretty quick and cheap. read more

They have got to do something about the slow play and allowing 5'somes. Course conditions are good, layout is fun but the slow play and hackers teeing it up from the blues is going to drive people away. The challenge is to hit as straight as possible! Lot of hills and mounds! Rinsed a few golf balls too. It was warmer than expected so take plenty of water with you for sure! Shot high score but it was my first time at Dragonfly! No houses, no traffic noise, no side by side fairways! Quiet for the most part! FUN! Even riding cart you will get your steps in! Please though be respectful and pick up your trash and rake the bunkers!! I saw discarded cigar butt, lid to a box of balls, wrappers to who knows what! Hope to try course again soon. read more

Fresno/Clovis has very few public courses, and even fewer solid public tracks. It's quite frustrating if you are an avid golfer. Simply put most public golf course here in Fresno are unimpressive at best. But Dragonfly is an exception. Wow - I was very impressed. First, it's only about 20 minutes up 41 freeway from Clovis. It's very scenic and beautiful. Grass driving range is any golfers dream come true. Our rate for Saturday round was $90 - a bit expensive but I think I worth it. The golf course is challenging with a lot of dog left and right. The fairways, rough and greens are in amazing shape. I highly recommend this place. read more

I love this course, my favorite in the valley. The course is challenging and no two holes are the same. Very well maintained, I have never been there when the course looked neglected. The carts are great, always clean and of course, the GPS is a huge plus! If I were to complain about anything, it is the lack of real restrooms on the course. The two outhouses can be downright nasty . The staff is always helpful and they are all nice. Great driving range and putting area. I always look forward to golfing here. read more

Course is in bad condition. The fairways are super dry but the employees keep saying it's Bermuda grass and suppose to be that way. I think they are having water issues. They are charging $69 bucks which is way too much to be charging when the course is in bad condition. Spoke with the GM just to give him a heads up but he didn't seem to care and had a bad attitude. Pretty much have no complaints about this place. I had been playing regularly at Sierra Meadows in Oakhurst but it closed. Needed a new 18 hole spot to play at least weekly, some times more, so we tried this out. I've gone twice now always at twilight. Their service and equipment is top notch, carts have gps and are supplied with an ice chest and water. Everything is computerized, carts don't let you get too close to the greens or native plant areas. The course is well laid out with quite a few dog legs. No real hills, but tress can add challenges and land does have plenty of undulation, craters and small mounds. Snack bar is standard golf course fair nothing too special. Will continue to play this course when possible. read more

The staff was helpful and friendly , it was $79 to play sat morning the pace was average . The course was nice and green , the greens had just been punch so they where a little on the slow side. A jewel of a track, Riverbend is easily Fresno's best golf course. It does not have the gimmicks of Brighton Crest nor the back and forth holes like the impossibly crowded Fig Garden. The whole scene is understated, relaxed, yet challenging. The clubhouse is designed like one of those old plantation boat houses out of the Carolinas. The layout and game play are perhaps the best testaments to the quality of a golf course and Riverbend has both in spades. The course looks as if it has been a part of the scenery for years, as it meanders in between majestic California Oaks, through nature preserves, around hidden ponds, all set in lovely basin against a butte. It's a cliche, but it's true: at Riverbend you'll play every club in your bag. The best holes are #12, a short par three right out of Pine Valley that just oozes character, and #17 which contains some of the best bunkers in the state and begins with a tee shot set back deeply in shady oaks. Extra credit for the frequently placed cold water coolers. The $25 super twilight rate (including cart) is easily one of California's best bangs for the buck. A steal in the summertime... read more

The best public golf course in the area! I recommend that you join their e-club as they will send you weekly promos that could save you $20+ per round, depending on when you play. Only CON that I have is that they don't have water out on the course. It's Fresno. We're in the middle of the San Joaquin Valley. It gets very hot out there. The course is nice however the pace of play is SLOW!!!!!! SLOW!!!! 6 hour round! I wrote an email expressing my concern about the long round and how there were no marshals out on the course, all they had was a little alert in the golf cart saying your behind. Kurt replied and pretty much told me oh well sorry you wont be back.... 4 of us drove 2 hours to play at this course, not only did we ALL play 36 holes but we bought from the bar and food area as well. That is a lot of money! I'm very disappointed in the customer service I received especially from the general manager. Even though it was a nice course.... pace of play and customer service ( even to comp us a drink ) wasn't there. Our group of 4 will not be back! My email to Dragon Fly when they were giving discount tee times: Unfortunately the last time I played it was nearly a six hour round. We can track pace-of-play on our GPS units and they day was our longest ever in my nearly three years here, with some rounds that day at 5 hours and 40 minutes.
