Bell serves all the right purposes: they sell comic singles, collections and books; they sell gaming cards and accessories, board games, novelties, snacks, and even have a selection of fantasy and scifi books which I consider a bonus in a comic shop. Did I mention the dedicated gaming space? The greater Dayton area is blessed with a lot of shops of this nature but they all have various strengths and weaknesses. Bell has a certain homey feeling that not all the shops around here can replicate. Although I love Maverick's, and I'm fond of Epic Loot, Bell has become my comic stop of choice on Fridays after work (since they stay open late on that day!). I read the other reviews on Yelp and I can understand why some people aren't entirely satisfied, but this shop does everything I need it to, and often does more. Someone mentioned that John is sometimes less than approachable. To that I would say that he is one of a small handful of staff members, and it's entirely likely that he has his stressed out days just like anyone else. I've never seen him be outright rude to a customer. Hell, one night as a teenager I wandered in there after they closed because I didn't see the sign, I misheard him when he said they were closed, and despite my stupidly barging in he let me browse anyway without any trouble. No shop can be everything to everyone. For me though, this one is wonderful. I highly recommend it.

The selection is pitiful, almost all of the games are getting sunbleached every single day because the store has them all displayed near the front window with the sunlight pouring through, yet they still want top price charting value for the rarer stuff. This store either needs to act like they care about their inventory, or just clearance off their video games if they can't be bothered with them any more. I also don't get the impression that the staff doesn't know anything about these games except what they sell for on ebay.

I was amazed at the amount of merchandise for Magic and Pokémon. After looking around for half an hour, I asked one of the employees if any of the cards behind the display cases were for sale, he had to price them out, but was willing to pull any out that interested me. I had him pull out my grail - an EX/NM 1st Edition Dark Charizard from Base Rocket and he gave me $50. I decided it was too good to pass up and he rang it up for me. The experience with the great prices and relaxed atmosphere will have me checking out the Mason location very soon.

There's everything here: puzzles, board games, card games, logic puzzles, and more! All of the products are arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner. This store is very neat and organized, and there's so much to look at! My favorite area is the front right, where they've currently got the logic puzzles. I'll admit, I buy most, if not all of my puzzles online... But now that I know there's a local store, I'll come here instead. I'd much rather support this business. One employee was checking out another person and the second employee told me to use a self-checkout. I was really hoping a new store would be better.
