Nick stopped over to have a look and put together a quote. The price was more than fair as compared to others who quoted us, especially after he said it included all supplies and paint. After checking on his reviews here and elsewhere, we decided to hire Nick and move ahead. Nick and his team showed up at the date and time scheduled. After setting up, everyone left for other worksites except for the guy Nick had assigned to do the work here. Removing wallpaper is a miserable, messy task but he did a great job, and went around and fixed the problem areas after. Nick uses Sherwin Williams superpaint and we were really happy with the result and coverage. (Nick also has cards at the local Sherwin Williams store, which was a good sign). It was nice hiring someone local and working with Nick and his crew was totally painless. The dining room looks great and the cost was excellent. Cleanup after was thorough and we have a bit of paint left over for future touchups when needed. We will definitely be hiring Nick and his guys again when we move ahead with the other rooms.

We have used ModernTek for three projects in our home. All of them have finished beautifully…read more We are very much accustomed to renovation projects, and for our most recent complete kitchen remodel, we worked out a mutual general contractor agreement. We were very impressed with ModernTek's willingness to cooperate - from demolition to rebuild. As in the other projects, we worked with Marc, and his attention to detail is second to none. We had no problems communicating concerns with him as the project progressed. As usual, there are many unexpected glitches that pop up in a remodel, and ModernTek overcame them all. The cabinet installation was impeccable. In particular, Marc was able to convince the fabricator to customize a specific set of round edge shelving that may have otherwise proved problematic. Additionally, he made sure to be present to make panel adjustments when the appliance installers arrived, and made additional modifications as needed. His recommendation for, and the consequent installation of wall and floor tile was stellar. Again, his ability to work out the logistics of that installation was impressive. Our kitchen trends toward Mid-Century Modern, but we have seen ModernTek's work from traditional to funky, to ultra modern - all beautifully executed. We highly recommend ModernTek, and look forward to working with them again.

Foolishly, I paid in full for a…read moreproject prior to its completion and now I am left with a deck re-build that has left exposed wiring on the outside of my house. And, after handshakes and his word it means nothing. He ignores my calls and texts and will not respond. The deck build was a complete nightmare from day one. First, it took 2.5 months because it is a crew of one and he showed up sporadically throughout the build with no communication until we called to see what the hold up was. Second, build plans were changed without authorization such as using screw instead of nails. A specific request from the beginning that was just changed. Third, seamless deck boards were the plan from the beginning. But our deck has seams. The reason was because they were out of stock. I called and they were in stock just more expensive. Another non-communicated change. Fourth, the "expert" shot nails through the outside of the house into and through the drywall on the inside. Need I say more about that??? Finally, while power washing he gouged up numerous boards because he's got no clue what he's doing. In conclusion, spend you're money with somebody who knows what they're doing and is trustworthy and sticks to their word. If you're looking for those qualities this is the WRONG "company" for you!
