I found J.R. Interior Painting through a facebook recommendation. After talking to Jennifer, and detailing what we were looking for, Jennifer prepared a quote and I had it in hand the next day. She came back out with stain samples. We selected the natural cedar stain, wondering how that would look applied to the yellowish stain currently on the deck and structure. Jennifer's communication skills are excellent. She texted each morning to let us know when she'd be here, or when the weather wouldn't work for staining. She started with a cedar cleaning product which stripped off the discoloration, we had, there were dark areas as well as funky golden patches. After allowing the wood to dry, she returned and painted each piece of wood, each slat on all four sides, getting into the groves to give it a uniform appearance. The wood was soaking up the stain, so she applied two or more coats as needed. I've attached a before and after showing the side of the hot tub enclosure. It looks brand new. read more

Amazing attention to detail. My walls are flawless. I can't begin to count the number of nail pops Jennifer found and fixed. She painted over wood trim and it turned out stunningly beautiful. We had an intercom system in every single room of the house and she removed the boxes and repaired the holes and they are indistinguishable from the original drywall. Jennifer's price was fair and included all supplies. She arrived on time every day. I felt she was very trustworthy and we allowed her access to our home when we were not there. She explained what she would do and how she would do it. When she found a problem, she came to us with solutions. We have had Jennifer come back twice now to do additional work and I have a few more items to bring her back. read more

First of let me tell you that Jennifer of JR Painting is absolutely wonderful. Why? Because she is a professional. A true artist. I tried to remove years of wallpaper in my bathroom and on doing so ruined the walls to put it mildly. I called several other painters but either they were a no show or talked down to me. I am saddened to have to write this review, however Jennifer did not finish the job at our home. We had a bathroom tub leak the week the job was to be completed - we asked if we could have some time to get everything repaired before the ceiling was painted as we didn't want to have it painted then more water damage. We all were in agreement with the plan. When I reached back out to Jennifer, she was unresponsive. Despite numerous attempts to get in contact. Eventually she responded to an email and stated she had left the state and had no one else to recommend to finish the job of which we paid her for. She also was to come back for some touch up work - our ceiling upstairs has a horrible spot she was going to "fix" never did, and our moulding had paint all over it from her work. The only reason she isn't one star is because she did a great job fixing all the holes in our walls, but honestly - it isn't worth the hassle. I was really disappointed to find out she had lied about leaving the state, rather than honestly saying she couldn't fit us in at that time and issuing a refund. read more

Jennifer came out to give a quote, and at the time, we weren't sure exactly how much of our condo we wanted painted. She patiently took measurements of all the rooms we POSSIBLY wanted painted, and sent me a detailed quote for each room, and made it easy to piece together a final project. We then had her out to paint master bedroom, master bathroom, office/sun room, AND to touch up the ceiling in the 2nd bath that we had previously painted ourselves. She made all the drywall cracks, nail pops, nail holes from previous hangings, etc all disappear before painting. Additionally, when we saw how wonderful the new paint looked, we asked her if she'd be willing to take one extra day and extend one of the colors into a small cove in between the office/sunroom and the hallway. Even though she drove a long way to get to our place, she agreed for a very reasonable price. In addition to the amazingly detailed work she did, one other thing sticks out about this experience. I'm used to contractors giving a price, then, when they're doing the work, some new, never considered, expense pops up and you're forced to either pay it or abandon the project in the middle. However, Jennifer pointed out any potential problems for us BEFORE the contract was signed, along with a quote for what happens IF we find that the light color we chose isn't covering the one dark wall. So we knew in advance what problem we could encounter, what the remedy would be, and how much that remedy would cost. 5 stars! A professional who does fantastic work. read more

After only a few minutes on the phone with Jennifer, I immediately knew she would take care of our home as if it were hers. She is honest, upfront, and extremely easy to get along with.
