Getting even a good iPhone picture can be difficult! That said, after being a little disappointed with my daughter's six-month photo shoot results, I went in search of a new photographer for her nine-month/family session. Luckily for us, we found Tony. He impressed me from the beginning with his responsiveness and the instant willingness to do an outside photo shoot in December. Tony has an amazing eye for detail and carefully explained how he wanted to set up the various shots. He has a way of making you feel at ease and like you're not posing. My husband enjoys photography as a hobby, and Tony was generous with his tips and tricks. The results were amazing! He was able to capture her little personality beautifully. The pictures really are pieces of art-his skill just shines through. His way of capturing the light and the colors is pretty incredible. He answered all our calls, emails and questions promptly throughout the whole process, from booking to receiving our final photos! During our session we discovered how very warm and clearly passionate he is about what he does. We would even go so far as to call him the "baby whisperer". We were so impressed with how gentle and patient he was in handling our 14 day old newborn girl and his ability to swaddle and calm her so adeptly. We were so grateful to have the professional detailed handout on what to expect during the session and how to prepare. It just made it so much easier for us to know how the morning would go and what we could do to make it as pleasant of an experience for our baby and ourselves. On the morning of the shoot he was exactly on time. For us new parents trying to balance preparing with everything from nursing, eating breakfast, getting ready, and twelve other things, it was so appreciated that he was neither early nor late, the timing was just perfect. Tony is nothing if not prepared, he came with his bag of goodies and brought a good variety of baskets, outfits, wraps, backdrops, and even professional lighting equipment for our shoot so that we would receive a variety of unique photos and poses. He even brought a custom travel themed backdrop and setup after we had mentioned how much how much we love to travel! He was very flexible and patient during our shoot and even extended the session since we lost some extra time due to changing, feeding and general fussiness from our newborn. The final images we received are gorgeous! You can see a few of our favorites here, but there are so many beautiful ones... it's hard to pick faves! He designed the layout for my book and put it together in a professional looking conventional style, but with lovely artistic touches throughout. His cover art is dramatic and eye catching, and truly captures the essence of my story. The engagement session was conducted on the coast at a nearby beach. Kevin's attention to detail and instinct in having us perform some fun poses proved to be really memorable. We had so much fun and he captured our love of one another and family spot on. It was the perfect preamble to what was about to come at the wedding and solidified our decision for engaging with Kevin for the wedding. The wedding was a beautiful day. The months of hard work and romance of our special day was captured from every perspective. Not ever working with a photographer, we were anxious but excited to work with Kevin, but unsure of what to ask, what to expect, what to pay, etc... Kevin was great from start to finish. His attention to detail and his listening skills are amazing. He was able to capture our day, our happiness and the laughter of all our family and friends from so many vantage points. We remember thinking back, oh yeah, we did ask for that and he remembered and worked the request from beginning to end with expert attention. We've heard horror stories about newlyweds and not having their day captured the way they wanted or the photographer missed certain aspects of the day. Kevin not only captured everything we wanted, he went above and beyond and captured so much more. The still shots on DVD are wonderful, but when we finally went through the experience of selecting which photo's should be part of the album and received the finished product- we were blown away. That accompanied by a full set of DVDs (including a video which we didn't even know about) have memorialized our special day forever.
