Months prior, I booked chairs from Unique Party Rental and communicated multiple times with Simon Marwa, the business owner. We confirmed the wedding date several times, and about three months out, we even met at the venue to go over logistics. Everything seemed good, and Simon agreed to have the chairs delivered and set up by noon on the day of the wedding. Fast forward to July 12. I arrived at the venue around 12:15 PM--no chairs. Our day-of coordinator hadn't received any updates from Unique Party Rental, and began calling them--no answer. Eventually, they called back saying they had a flat tire and would arrive at 12:40 PM. Frustrating, but understandable. But by 12:45, there were still no chairs. More calls--no response. Around 1:00 PM, they called back and said they weren't coming at all and would issue a refund instead. Our coordinator told them they needed to bring the chairs, but after more waiting, nothing changed. At 1:10 PM, we told them not to come. Thankfully, our venue had an emergency backup set of chairs, which saved the day. My now-wife and I decided to wait a week to allow time for Simon to reach out, and resolve the issue with us via a refund, but no call ever came. I had to follow up with Simon multiple times to get our refund. He was slow to respond and dismissive, even saying that he wishes we "would have called to remind him to bring the chairs." A month later, when I called to confirm the refund came through and asked about compensation for the stress and the extra cost of the venue chairs, Simon finally apologized--but also changed his story, saying a system error caused the no-show. That means the original flat tire excuse was a lie. He offered to pay half of the extra money we had to spend. I told him I didn't think that was fair due to the fact that we had family and friends waiting around in the sun for a long time, in addition to the stress, and setting our wedding back over half an hour. Plus, he lied to us, which he refused to acknowledge. I began to tell him we would be more apt to write a better review if he would be willing to take responsibility, when he suddenly interrupted me, started yelling at me, accused me of threatening him with a review, and hung up. That was the end of it. Some people may have had decent experiences with Unique Party Rental--but based on mine, I strongly recommend you don't take the risk.

The upgrade dishes were corelle ware. Cheap silverware and tacky stem ware. Luckily we brought our own linen napkins. The meal itself was inedible. I had to leave the table. Dry meat, soggy , wilted , brown salad . Paid for food we didn't even get. I had to get up and clear dishes. They served the dinner so poorly. The first served tables were done eating before the other tables even got their food. Most people didn't even eat the food ! And it was only 47 people . I can not even begin to wish this catering service on anyone. Stay away from them. It was beyond awful !!! I can't even list all that were done so poorly!

While I was aware they might arrive the day before the event, they gave no heads-up or confirmation--just showed up unannounced and only called when they were already at my front door. Thankfully, I happened to be home. Otherwise, they would've dropped the inflatable wherever they felt like. Even though I gave them clear instructions on where to place it, they ignored me and set it up in the wrong spot. When I asked them to move it, they said they couldn't--it was too heavy--and only had two people on the job. Then, without asking or informing me, they plugged one of the blowers into my neighbor's outlet. They told me the blowers needed to stay on for over 24 hours (until the event) because the inflatable was top-heavy and might not reinflate properly. That is absolutely unreasonable and a huge liability concern. Pickup was just as bad. They were two days late and again showed up with just two people who couldn't move the inflatable. Instead of calling for backup, they dragged it into my wild grass so my lawn service could mow--completely flattening that part of my yard in the process. Then they left it there for another full day. When they finally came back, they again brought only two people, had to call for two more, and it took them over an hour and a half to get it off my property. The complete lack of professionalism and communication was outrageous. I had to make multiple phone calls just to get basic updates. At no point did they take responsibility or show even a shred of proactiveness. I will never use this company again, and I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the stress.

From the first time that I spoke with Marissa, I knew that she was going to be the perfect person to work with! She truly went above and beyond throughout my entire wedding planning process! I hired Marissa as the "day of coordinator" but she really did so much more than that! Marissa was available to me any time that I had any questions. She met with my family and I in Minnesota a few months before the wedding when we happened to be in town and had dinner with us. She had at least three to four conference calls with us throughout the wedding planning process. She even went to the venue with my mom a month before the wedding when my mom happened to be in town. And any time that anything came up, Marissa was always there to help me or to answer any questions that I had. On the day of my wedding, Marissa was at the venue early in the morning setting up my fairytale wedding. She worked tirelessly all day - in the heat and humidity. She kept the wedding running smoothly. She stayed for the entire wedding and even picked up afterwards. As an out of town bride, I was somewhat needy. Overall, I would rate the services provided by this company as "Good, not great." That said, I found Marissa's personality a challenge. At our rehearsal, for example, she was very dismissive of our officiant's plans/suggestions and seemed to respond to mildly challenging situations (e.g. corralling people to walk down the aisle) by getting visibly annoyed rather than calmly directive. There seemed to be a tension underlying a lot of her tasks and, though things got done, I didn't feel great about the atmosphere and, in some cases, felt like I needed to apologize on her behalf (e.g. to the officiant) for her demeanor. With that said, the wedding day went smoothly and my (limited) interactions with her that day were fine. So, perhaps this is down to personality differences. In which case, if you are considering this company's services, I would merely recommend that you take the time to meet with Marissa and evaluate whether she is a good fit for you.
