In the process of attaching the new steps, they inadvertently missed placing a 2x board against the beam. This created a trip hazard between decking and first step. Once I realized I asked for a work stoppage until it got remedied. They refused, and consequently because of the additional work that occurred, the only remedy available was to cut the deck board at the steps. This left a raw edge of the composite wood exposed on the deck. They would not admit to their mistake. And.. that is the issue... they will likely make this mistake again. I paid top dollar to get a deck solution that looks like an amateur did it. Construction is never perfect. But if you can't admit to your mistakes, then how can you get better? I literally wanted them to admit to it, so that this doesn't happen with their next customer. This is a painting company trying to do construction. Be careful.

This process was a bit different than I was used to but not difficult. I would only recommend that you pay attention to what you need to get with an eye on your budget. We were on a wait list for about 2 months or so (which is a good sign of a contractor in demand) and the project started close to the estimated date. Luke and EJ are extremely professional and pleasant which makes it easier to have in your home for an extended period. We were pleasantly surprised how extremely neat and clean they kept the house during the project. Each day after work they cleaned up including vacuuming and neatly placed everything out of the way.
