I was in Downtown Ithaca and saw this poke place that I parked close to. Inside, the place was clean and spacious. I do enjoy a good poke bowl, and I often order the sauce on the side to see how good it is without the sauce. Well, this poke bowl was pretty light on the poke. That's always the most important part of a poke bowl, lol!! And it did need the sauce, so I would say it was just ok.

I am consistently on the hunt for the best poké and bubble tea spots & was excited to try Dream Tea & Poké after it opened around mid-April of this year. Unfortunately, after both visiting in-person and ordering takeout? Dream Tea & Poké leaves a bit to be desired... especially when ordering poké for takeout. I'd much rather receive my poké in a compostable/takeout bowl, for example, than a folded together takeout box. This is especially the case when the poké arrives unmixed (i.e. a big scoop of rice to the side with the various proteins and toppings just added, but not mixed together). I want to get a bit of all my proteins, toppings, and rice in every bite... but the takeout box made everything awkward to eat together. (Admittedly, they're also missing some of my preferred mix-ins and toppings from their menu of selections... like, I'd love to see hijiki seaweed as an option or diced mango as options). As for the bubble tea, it hasn't been my favorite. Something about the texture of the boba doesn't really seem right & the tea itself has often lacked flavor. I'm going to give it more time before I order anything from Dream Tea & Poké again... give it some time for this place to hopefully get in a groove. In the meantime, I'll be trying other options.

This is a bubble tea, poké, and Taiwanese dessert spot. Think Mango Mango but with a larger variety of food options. I love dessert soups, and this cold Bao Bao bowl hit the spot. Their bubble tea is also delicious. You might not spot it right away but it's next to the Starbucks, almost integrated with a hotel. The interior is also pretty, and a great spot to bring your laptop.

Food and service were both excellent! I ordered the fresh fruit bowl which came with strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, mango, coconut milk, mango and coconut jellies, and mochi balls! My order came out fast and the bowl was delicious and refreshing! I wish the pineapple was fresh, but I loved the mochi! They were soft, chewy, and slightly sweet! Ambiance was nice too- clean and lots of natural light from the windows- plenty of seating as well. I would definitely return!

First off, I love the owner of this place. She's the nicest woman and gave me an extra egg in my soup on a holiday! The poke is also excellent here and as are the boba. Very solid place!

Great sized portions and everything was very fresh. Service was speedy and the restaurant was clean. I'll definitely be returning.

The fish isn't quite as fresh as what…read moreyou'll find on the islands (because, well, geography), but it still satisfies the craving. And honestly? I love the toppings. Pokelava leans into the chaotic joy of "build-your-own," and sometimes I want that maximalist experience -- crispy onions, spicy mayo, seaweed salad, and every crunchy thing they'll let me pile on. It's like a flavor party where everyone's invited. But Hawaii poke taught me something: restraint. Simplicity. Respect for the fish. There, the bowls are quieter -- no sauce tsunami, no mountain of mix-ins -- just fresh ahi, a dash of shoyu, maybe a sprinkle of green onion. The kind of bowl that looks you in the eyes and says, "I don't need a crunchy topping to be beautiful." Still, Pokelava isn't trying to be Hawaii. It's playing its own game -- fast, convenient, and comfortingly consistent. After tasting the gold standard, I've come to appreciate Pokelava not for what it lacks, but for what it unapologetically is: a solid, build-your-own poke spot that lets you be a little unhinged with your toppings and still get a good meal out of it. Would I fly across the Pacific for it? No. Will I still walk across the street for it? Absolutely. And if they keep giving me quarters for laundry? Lifelong loyalty, sealed.

I got a build your own bowl with zoodles and rice as my base. There are lots of protein options, all cut too small imo, but they were fairly generous with portions. I had the seared tuna and salmon. For mix ins I added cucumber, edamame, mango cabbage, and onion. I liked how they mixed everything together instead of just piling it on top. They also mix in the sauce which is great. I had the sesame ginger. For toppings you can choose three, and I opted for seaweed salad, kani salad, and corn. I also got nori strips and wasabi/ginger. Kani salad wasn't the best but other than that everything was fresh and tasty. Idk if I'd rush back but it was good! I would get it again. Bowl with two proteins was $13.50 before tax.

I've had brunch, lunch, and dinner at MIX, and all with varying levels of enjoyment. My recent…read morebrunch experience included ordering a Where the West Begins omelette, which includes "Braised short rib, butternut squash, red onion jam, spinach, smoked gouda". I wasn't sure how to feel about butternut squash with everything else (I'm not necessarily a huge squash fan - but I'm trying to learn to enjoy it), but the omelette was decent... it's the other side on my plate that looked less than appetizing. The biscuit was still covered in flour (and who wants to bite down on a clump of flour?), the cheddar hashbrown casserole lacked in flavor, and the brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal just... wasn't doin' it for me. Other recent experiences have been similar... there's usually one item on the plate that's flavorful or imventive (sometimes a main dish, sometimes a side), and the other parts of the plate are lacking. In reality, I think MIX is suffering a bit from rising food costs and inconsistency in their service and offerings. They've also changed the style of their menu from the original tapas-style to now being more typical entree options. Again... they've lost some of their innovative, experimental approach. In terms of ambiance, it really depends. I've been here for a work event and, because of the number of people, it was SO LOUD... they had also done a buffet offering for the event. As you can imagine, the food from the buffet was lacking, but that's often what happens when you're more mass producing your food (and it's left in a chafing dish, trying to be kept warm). On the other hand, I've been here for a dinner on a random night and was able to enjoy one of their Thai noodle bowls (and split some other apps with friends). The reality is that experiences at MIX are... well... a mix. Whether service, menu offerings, etc., I've found MIX's recent inconsistencies to be a disappointment. Will probably only visit in the future if it's suggested by others.

The guy behind the counter came to get our order- he seemed kind of standoffish. I noticed we also got a different presentation of food with chips in a paper bag rather than plated with our food like the others? The food seemed to be good but honestly was overshadowed by the uncomfortable feeling we were being treated differently? We were the only people of color during that time- and all of us felt like that could've been a factor... Otherwise, I try to stay impartial- so the vibe was cute and the food was good- but the experience was not comfortable
