The interior is a bit ghetto-looking, with some poster boards nailed to the otherwise bare walls, but you're not here for the ambience. The girl behind the counter explained that most drinks are powder (bad), but some can use syrup or fruit (good). I had my benchmark strawberry bubble tea. You can taste the fruit with this one. I don't go to West Edmonton Mall all that often but when I do I like to check out the T & T market and wander around with a bubble tea from Dream Tea house. There is normally a line up at this kiosk which is a good sign! They offer so many flavour options! And have some funny posters up with emoji votes on the drinks being yum or yuck. There is a pikachu wearing an oilers shirt which must be their mascot. It's quirk and cute but what about the bubble tea? Now I always get an avocado bubble tea and this place does it just right. I felt like the last person on Earth who has ever tried bubble tea, so I finally decided to try it. I always thought the Dream Tea House looked interesting, and it's always busy, so I figured it was a good place to go. There were so many choices on the menu, that I wasn't sure what to get. I thought strawberry would be a good choice, since I love strawberries. I paid for my bubble tea and the nice lady gave me a piece of paper with a stamp on it. I asked her what it was for, and she said it was for a draw. I entered my name, not knowing what I could possibly win. Then I sat down and waited for my bubble tea. I saw her put the cup of bubble tea in a little machine that lifted the cup and sealed the top with plastic. It was so cool. I got my bubble tea and chose one of the thick, colourful straws. One end of the straw was sharp, so I assumed you I was supposed to stab the plastic top. That seemed to work well, so I guess I did it right. Upon my first sip, I was somewhat disappointed. I didn't really like the taste. It was like a sweet milk and not at all like tea. My dislike might have been because of the strawberry flavour though. Although I like strawberries, I've never liked fake strawberry flavour or strawberry ice cream, and this is what it reminded me of. I was also scared to suck up on of the balls from the bottom of the cup. They looked kind of gross. When I finally did, I was kind of disgusted, because it reminded me of a fish eyeball (at least that's what I imagine a fish eyeball would feel like in my mouth). It was squishy and jelly--soft on the outside and a little firmer on the inside. Eventually I got used to the jelly balls, and I started to really enjoy them. It was just like jelly candy. When I left the store, I noticed a big sign outside that said the draw was for a round trip ticket to Vancouver and gift certificates for Dream Tea House. That's a pretty awesome draw, and I hope I win! Although I wasn't crazy about the bubble tea, I still want to try it again, but this time I'll get something other than strawberry. read more

Related to the famous Whyte Ave location, this places serves the best bubble tea on the west side. I started my bubble tea experience at their Whyte Ave location and I was happy when they opened up a closer one. Service and atmosphere are alright, but the bubble tea is amazing! They also offer slushies, ice cream, iced tea, and also shaved ice. They have many flavors of bubble tea to choose from; from familiar flavors such as strawberry, mango, coconut,to something different like iced chai tea. Their bubble tea is provided in a thin layered plastic cup and sealed with some stereotypical Asian anime designed plastic. Keep in mind the drink sizes are HUGE, and can be considered a meal itself. Good thing you can walk it off in the Mall. Only problem is that they do not accept credit cards...so make sure you bring some cash with you. (Warning: Do not order this to "tie you over" to a meal like we did, as my boyfriend and I ended up being too full to even eat lunch after this!) This Dream Tea House has great bubble tea - I maintain that Dream makes the best bubble tea in the city. But this location of Dream, isn't very big and they don't have the comfy, cozy atmosphere that the other location has. This one is very basic - a few tables, a few chairs and that's it. They are efficient here, but not as efficient as the other location. But if you're looking for a great drink to grab and walk around the mall with - this is the place to go. There are a lot of choices on the menu, but if you don't see it, ask, they probably can make it for you . They are one of the few bubble tea places where I have seen soursop. A few of the menu items are listed in Mandarin, but like I said, just ask. The staff is quick and efficient, but could be a bit more welcoming! This one is a new discovery for me while picking up some groceries at T&T Market. I love the milk tea with caramel pearls. Good value, most of the beverages are around the $5.50 mark. From my experience of trying different bubble tea places around the city, i find that this one makes them the best. It's always full of flavor and the fruits they use are very fresh, im guessing cause they buy them next door from the T& T supermarket. I mostly order the Avocado smoothie, just cause they make it to perfection. Had Bubble tea for the first time ever from here and it was good. This is a nice little place right outside of the Asian supermarket in West Edmonton Mall. They took about 3 minutes to get the bubble tea ready and I liked it. It's a milk based drink with some type of balls in it. I like to get my bubble tea here if I'm at West Ed, even though they have it available in the food courts too (at the Chinese food vendors). It's just simply the best bubble tea you will find in Edmonton, aside from their original Old Strathcona location (which is my ultimate favorite). There's usually a line-up when I pass by here. I'm not sure if their menu is as big as the other location's, but I don't see any reason why it would be different. This shop is smaller, so they have limited seating area -- it's really just a corner of the store. Although you could get your beverage and then just sit on the fake rocks outside the shop and T&T. This place is always pretty darn busy. The ambiance of the shop itself isn't amazing as a result as it's mostly folks waiting around for their bubble tea. But oh my goodness they're fast and their red bean bubble tea was absolutely delicious upon my last visit! I'm sure you've heard of bubble tea. It's a type of drink (juice or milk based) with balls of something (you choose from a list, tapioca is an example). It's a really refreshing drink, depending on the flavor you get. If you get the wrong flavor it's not so great but if you choose wisely it can be really good. I suggest you try the ones that are not milk based. They just seem really heavy and with the wrong type of fruit can make the drink taste less than par. I find it really hard to choose between all of the flavors they have. But I really like the raspberry one. A friend of mine really likes the peach flavored one (not with milk) and Curtis really enjoys the melon or the strawberry one (again with no milk). read more

They mix flavours as well as the kinds of pearls and jellies they add. I like the "Dream" mix, which is coconut and taro, with sago pearls and lychee jelly. Most of the flavours here are fruit - bubble tea is usually not tea at all, but just a general name for the entire spectrum of drinks prepared from fresh fruit or powders, milk or juice, and pearls or jellies. We got the barley germ with pearl, and avocado with pearl. So happy that the avocado is fresh here! We found that drinks to be more milky than in YYC, but they were still very yummy. The pearls had good chew to them as well. I have been really fortunate to taste alot of great bubble tea here in Edmonton but this was the first one that ever made me stop and go "mmmmm". I had the watermelon with tapioca pearls and the flavor was the perfect marriage of fruity and sweet. It was a great value at $5.00 and with all the choices on their menu I see myself coming back again and again. I would feel like I was doing this place a great disservice if I also didn't mention how unbelievably clean it was. Everything here is so white and the metal counter tops were literally sparkling. The lady working had their back door propped open with a mop bucket and I could see even the floors and shelves in the back were unbelievably clean. I ordered 'Smile,' a strawberry-rose slush with lychee jelly, and found it perfectly sweet and flowery, with tons of lychee floating around the bottom of the cup.
