When the doors opened at 11:00 there were 7 more locals waiting. The warm and comfortable dining area had four tables occupied. All of whom got the daily lunch special which looked delicious. We were there for coffee and pie. There was a young gal running the front of house and she was fantastic serving tables and taking to go orders. The coffee was delicious and the strawberry rhubarb pie was amazing! By the way, all the wood dining chairs had comfy seat cushions which was appreciated by this bicyclist. After trying what it was like cold we had to make a stop here for good, hot fresh pizza before we came back home to Washington. And we did. We stopped by here one evening and ordered a Supreme pizza and a Pepperoni pizza to take back to where we were staying. The fresh pizza was simply amazing and all those features that we liked on the pizza slices were magnified when it was fresh and hot! It did not take long after chowing down on a couple of these slices and we were full as ticks! Steven and I often drag our feet when it comes to going to visit rural America but whenever we go see his sister, Judy it will give us an added spring in our step because we will insist on having to fit in another trip to the Wolf's Den! Once we received our food, and started to eat, a young guy came to ask us the same thing. To pay for the food that we had just started to eat. He would not leave, was very insistent. With food in our hands we paid so that he would let us be. After this no one came to check on us to ensure that the food was alright. This one, which is listed under several monikers ("Seth's Down Under...", etc.) turned out to have excellent food. My husband and I both opted for burgers, for which there were numerous options, some quite unusual. I wasn't bold enough to order the Juicy Lucy with peanut butter, but I did get the one with an overeasy egg cooked into the upper half of the bun. The meat was very tasty and well-seasoned with what appeared to be steak seasoning--cracked black pepper, coriander, probably toasted garlic and onion powder. The burger came with a generous side--a full-sized basket of tater tots, nicely crispy on the outside and enough to share. Fortunately, Wednesdays are "burger nights," during which you can order a burger without a side for a discounted price ($12 rather than $15) and also get a discount on your second drink (not applicable, as I had a soda and my husband had just water). My husband had the Salty Dog burger (sour cream, provolone cheese, chopped green olives) sans side; he said it was good, but "a bit busy." Service was good--friendly, helpful, but attentiveness dwindled toward the end of our meal, resulting in drinks running dry.
