ALL THE WAY FROM CHICAGO! This is by far one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. It is absolutely worth the 5.5 hour drive from Chicago. The entire set up is beautiful, cozy, and relaxing. It's such a stress free place and a great escape from the Chicago city life. When we first arrived, we saw a beautiful flower arrangement. You can pick out whatever flowers and as much flowers as you want for a self-serve 5$ donation. It is basically right where we parked, so it was our first stop before walking into the farm. The entrance is basically the ordering station. There's a window with menus and decor all around it and a fridge with drinks for purchase. After you place your order, you are directed to the back with a number for another window and a bar to pick up your food and drinks. The scenery is just breathtaking. There's a few outdoor seating options, however, it seems like most people bring their own chairs and blankets and cozy up by the fire pit. I even saw a few people roasting marshmallows. There is also a great play area for kids and tons of farm animals like chickens, goats, sheep and cows. Quick heads up: Pizza nights are Friday's and Saturday's from 4-8:30PM during the months of May to September. In October, pizza nights are Saturday's only from 3 to 7:30PM. I noticed that they have one event coming up in November in which they celebrate the fall season with a "Dinner on the Farm". I believe the farm is closed throughout the winter season, but I'd double check with the owners just to be sure. It was just my boyfriend and I, but believe it or not, we ordered three 12 inch pizzas. We wanted to try everything we desired. It's not everyday we get to go to a farm and eat pizza! We had the Zippy Roadrunner and Thai Chicken pizzas from the seasonal menu, and from the original menu, we had the Mushroom and Herb pizza with the butternut squash upgrade since they were in season. I had the Heirloom Tomato Salad also from the seasonal appetizers menu. I'm not sure what it is, but my lord the freshness of the food here is out of this world. It's truly farm to table and you can definitely tell the difference. There was a little bit of a wait on our pizzas, but that's totally expected. I also realized that this farm seems to be run by women and I'm all for that. The ladies are doing an excellent job. On the day we visited, they had a pie contest and numerous people brought in pies. You had the option to try as many pies as you want for a donation starting at 3$ per pie. The money goes to help a school down the hill, which made us want to get even more pies. We ended up trying 4 different pies, but hey, it's for charity! The farm is not only pizzas and just sitting around. There are also live performances and movie nights that go on, so just make sure to log onto their website and double check what's going on the evening you decide to visit. This was by far one of the best trips I've had in my life and I can't wait to be back!

We live on a farm. So, initially, I wasn't taken with the idea of eating on a farm. I can do that at home for less money. However, we were traveling and we wanted something different, so we drove a bit out of the way to Suncrest. This is a very casual and relaxing place, set amidst the beautiful bluffs and valleys of the Wisconsin Mississippi River country. They could use better signage and instructions. It wasn't clear to us, from driving up, whether they were open or not. You have to continue past the house to the parking in the rear. That's where the barn and food is located. We happened to hit on the second Saturday, during the summer, when they are serving small, 8-inch wood fired pizzas and some other unique food items from their garden cafe. There was a long, slow moving line when we arrived. It seemed to take a lot longer to order than it should. It's not obvious what you're supposed to do once you order, but they hand you a bucket with a number on it, a mason jar filled with water, and then it's your job to go find a seat, or move tables and chairs to make yourself comfortable on the farm. You can either eat inside or out. Outside it more enjoyable, as you can watch the chickens running around, pet the pygmy goats, see the ducks, and watch the shadows from the clouds pass over the green covered bluffs in the distance. It's quite tranquil. In time, our pizzas arrived. They were quite good, with a generous amount of cheese. Don't expect crisp crust. It was more like a soft New York style pizza. You could fold the crust easily if you wanted. It was delicious. Unfortunately, there was no live music the evening we arrived. That's on certain Friday nights during the summer. If you want to know what's happening on certain nights, definitely give them a call before you go. There are outhouses for use here. If that bothers you, go before you arrive. This is nice alternative. I think it would especially appeal to families. The children can play on the playground equipment and watch the animals while the adults enjoy their meal.

Take the time to drive to this place !!! It's magical beautiful setting, relaxing and fun. We are so glad that this place was recommended to us by the World Cup Coffee place in Fountain City. We lucked out with gorgeous weather! The pizza here is the best I've ever had !!! We ordered the house pesto 16" and we demolished it hahaha The drink selection is awesome with great variety. Loved our date night here it's one that we will be talking about for years to come.

This is my favorite pizza farm. Out out of town guests are always impressed. Bring a lawn chair and be ready go to chill and enjoy the outdoors. There is typically a campfire going and live music. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages are available for sale as well as various appetizers and of course wood fired pizza! Everything is made with fresh local ingredients. Expect a wait for the pizza as this place gets very crowded. The pizza is worth the wait. In addition to traditional toppings, there is also a seasonal pizza or two. We had a Hawaiian, a BBQ chicken (minus the onions), Mushrooms & Herb, and a Supreme. They were all scrumptious!

I visited the pizza farm Thursday night around 5pm. Unfortunately it was drizzling when we arrived, so we chose to sit inside. There were not many other people visiting the farm that evening which was nice. Inside the building there are 3 sets of banquet tables with chairs. We ordered chips & salsa, mason jar sangria & a small classic pizza with red sauce & sausage. Sangria was delicious! I liked that the pizza came in the "green box". If you forgot plates the top of the box is perforated to tear into 4 plates. Everything we ate was amazing! Must get the s'more kits to make at the fire pit after dinner. They offer two different options: Hershey chocolate bar or Reese's. Each s'mores kit comes with 2 marshmallows, 2 graham crackers & the choice chocolate. The weather cleared up after eating our pizza & we were able to make our s'mores by the fire. Pay attention to the way you drive in... Little to no cell service. Cell phone GPS could not connect on our way out. Will definitely be back!

This place is magical. We traveled 4 hours from Milwaukee to eat here and we're not disappointed in the slightest. The drive in is like no other. Dead center in gorgeous valleys of driftless farmland. Rolling fields of vegetables and sunflowers. Pigs, chickens, cows, goats, and little bird we couldn't ID but were adorable nevertheless. Exiting the car we could hear music and laughter. I'm getting stoked just thinking about that moment. The staff is extremely friendly and are happy to talk about everything the farm has to offer. It was packed that evening (the woman who took our order said they were probably going to sell a record amount of pizzas) but such a wonderful ambiance. Smiles everywhere. We ordered the Sunshine and Summertime Love pizzas, which were seasonal and gosh dang delicious. Couldn't have been happier. Final and important note: gentlemen, the urinals are around the back of the small building housing the bathrooms. Don't wait in line for the bathrooms that face the eating area. That's for ladies and families and the little girls waiting in line behind you will laugh. At least that's what happened to me. :)

    BLT pizza at Suncrest Gardens.

FRESH- I think they run into the gardens and pick your toppings after you order. It tastes so fresh. Unique- Order the basic pizzas you're used to or get creative with their "in season" specials. On this trip I had the BLT. They also have a nice variety of beer and wine. Atmosphere- Outdoor seating (indoor seating optional), lots of space to spread out or come with a large group. Most nights there's live music. When the sun sets grab a marshmallow and make a s'more. Con/ or is it...? Be ready to wait a little while for your pizza. Don't go when you're in a rush. This is an eating experience. Not fast food.

Wild flowers, sun flowers, other flowers I didnt even know the name for.... Their season is short (Minnesota summers are short) but that makes it all the more special when you can sneak away from the city and explore Berry and Bloom Farm. It's also the most instagrammable spot ever, and the most quaint. The U-pick flower portion is on the "honor system." It is family owned, they only ask people leave a couple bucks for a few flowers (vases can be purchased for a few dollars more.) And I would probably hunt someone down if they took advantage of this amazingly open, kind, gift to humanity. I didn't take any flowers home, but left a few dollars any way because you truly can FEEL how much love and passion goes into this farm. Please understand that if you plan to visit: family owned. Small farm. Trusting people. Dont ruin the kindness :) Its about 30 minutes out of Rochester (great spot to explore if youre visiting the Mayo Clinic on a health trip.) Be sure to check their website though to ensure they are still open. This is going to be a permanent stop every time I visit this part of Minnesota.

Whether you live in Stillwater, MN, or live in Seattle, Washington - a visit to RBA is a must. The moment you drive up to RBA, you know that you are in for an experience to remember. Lorna and Shelly greet you with big smiles, positive energy and true joy in sharing the amazing animal sanctuary they have worked hard to build, grow, and maintain. The animals are the true stars on this farm. Each one of them has a gift just waiting to be shared. Maybe it is a hug from Zeke (one of the mini donkeys), or for you to kick back and lay on Dave (the mini cow) or let Kenny (one of the goats) snuggle up against you - you will be loved. These animals can pick up on how you are feeling, and they offer the healing capabilities they have to offer. Pull up a mat in the pasture and just let yourself relax. I have had the honor of volunteering AND visiting the farm multiple times and every time is a new experience. I'm so thankful to live close enough to visit as often as I would like. Make sure RBA is on your list too! Tips for when you visit: 1. Dress for a visit to a farm with LIVE ANIMALS: Know you will be licked, rubbed up against, sat on and loved on by animals. You will get dirty, and it is fantastic! 2. Don't be afraid of the animals: These animals are worked with every day, and they know you are there to learn and love. Let yourself love on them - let them love on you. 3. Help keep the farm up and running: It is not mandatory to donate, but I strongly encourage to do so. Whether it is $10 or $100, every dollar is spent to keep this sanctuary available for others to experience. If you can't give money, they also love when people want to come and volunteer. 4. Most importantly - have fun! It is an experience you will always remember!
