When my child then started first grade at public school, the public school had to put my child in an intervention program bc my child placed one and a half years behind the normal first grader. Charlotte Montessori is a daycare only. I advise all parents to choose a kindergarten program elsewhere.

My child attended this school for many years. I have a very low opinion of this school for the…read morefollowing reasons: 1) a male child exposed himself to my child and another child at this school. The school did not notify me of this issue - my child had to disclose it to me. When I told the school director about it she effectively did nothing about. Additionally, she did even notify the parents of the other effected child of the situation. 2) My child was vicitimed by a bully in her class for years. This situation resolved itself when they child left. The school's director tried many times to get me to understand that things like this happen with children and that I was blowing it out of portion. 3) My ex-spouse and I were involved in a very nasty custody battle for many years. The school and its adminstration constantly took sides. At one point when I lost custody the school's director effectively told me that the contract was with the other parent and that as such I would not receive any communication about my child and that I would be removed from the email update list and that they would not provide any updates on my child's progress. 4) Very high teacher turnover. The school only has 3 full time teachers and within a couple of years the school fired 3 teachers. 5) many parents fall into social tribes - the child see this behavoir and copy it. I found that child tended to function in groups that excluded other children. Even a teacher at the school who had children at the school were victimized by this type of ingroup/outgroup abuse by other students.

Everyone is happy, warm and welcoming and most importantly passionate about  their work and bringing out the best in each child. Our son has been thriving in the small family type environment and he enjoys the focused attention he receives. He enjoys school so much that he even requested to stay for after-school-care. I would describe myself as a very protective parent, but knowing that my son is at Anami gives me a tremendous peace of mind. Aside from the warm and caring environment, the curriculum is excellent and his learning and growth has been tremendous. It is a tight knit community were parents make new friends among themselves. The school hosts many community evenings and events to get the families together and keep everyone informed about developments. I highly recommend Anami!

I went to the directors and explained to see if we could get out of our contract, and they informed me that they work with children with this problem all the time. Then proceeded to ask me what they need to buy. If they work with this learning issue, then why don't you have the products. Rachel never returned my phone calls, so I tried to talk to Wendy who is I believe Regional; her communication skills are lacking, and she was zero help to get us out of our contract after we had proof that my child was doing better with a one-on-one tutor geared towards his learning disability. If I would have gone with my momma gut and had my child assessed, then I wouldn't be dealing with payments after the fact. Parents don't sign the contract and believe that they are going to do so great for your children. They sit at an iPad and work through a program parent you can do that at home on your own. Please find a one-on-one tutor. This location is absolutely not worth your time, I actually got more information and help from other locations and they didn't have great things to say about this franchise in fact they had clients move to their facility because this location was so bad I wish I could get the rest of this contract erased so I wouldn't have to make payments and focus on the new tutor payments

I would HIGHLY suggest people to steer clear of Sylvan!! We have a high school student that has…read moresome learning difficulties so we turned to Sylvan. We had a consultation, explained to the director that he needs one on one tutoring and was told that they would be a great fit. When he started, we did in person tutoring at the facility so he could get one on one, in person tutoring. The director had told us about her degrees in education and that "she" couldn't wait to work with him. We were very surprised when we picked him Up from his session how young the "tutor" looked. The tutor looked to be in high school himself. We spoke with the director, whom we thought would be working with our son, and learned the tutor was older than we thought but none the less, didn't have a teaching degree. There is no one on one tutoring and there were usually 3-5 students per tutor. The sessions consisted of my child answering questions on an iPad. Waiting up to 15 minutes either for help or for the tutor to load new questions. This could happen 3+ times in a 2 hr session. When paying 50 bucks an hour and you sit idle for 30+ minutes, waiting on the tutor to help the other students, is like flushing $ down the toilet. We had many conference all's with the director and promises that they'd fix it. We eventually started doing the tutoring from home since there was no one on one teaching. Tutors would be talking very loudly to each other about movies etc which made it very hard for my student to focus. Every issue we brought to the director, she promised to fix. She only was stringing us along so we would miss our 60 day window to get our money back. Don't let them suck you in with promises that they can correct your child's learning issues. They don't care about your child at all. They only care about the money. Don't be fooled!! You'll loose 4 grand and your child will be no better off.
