THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH ON "REAL" LAWYERS:…read more Recently I got into a bit of trouble. Strangely, it was not like me at all!! I've NEVER been in trouble before. Not with the Law anyway. It was one of those nights I've heard people say before like you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. A night out that you never intended to end up that way. Not nearly as bad as that movie "The Hangover" but similar as I woke up in Jail and had no clue how I got there! There I was in SERIOUS trouble with the law! I had to act immediately and I hired a lawyer that was recommended to me by a friend and without doing any research I hired him desperately...BIG mistake! Eventually I found out he was just wanting my money and telling me the things I wanted to hear at the time. After an appearance in court, I started finding out the information he gave me was not completely correct. Questioning him on it, he told me he would get back to me. I then had to follow up with his assistance several times with NO response from him! It was a firm and I never got the same lawyer on my court dates. I knew I was in trouble and I was SCARED! I eventually had to fire him after meeting with him about a list of complaints and misinformation that was given to be by the firm. He was what I later found out to be a paper-pusher type lawyer. The type that tell you all the magical BS words and mind games to make you feel like they care but really they want to do what will get them the most money and leave you with the outcome to your case that will make it easiest for them. This was a very reputable firm and I could believe how disappointed i was. This was my LIFE! I needed a lawyer to take it that seriously! Could this be the BEST I could hope for? I fired him and started searching for the "Real Lawyers." My search started online as I did as much research about my case and trying to select the right lawyer to interview. I soon found out that it was going to be tougher than I expected. After much research I narrowed my search down to three lawyers. The first was like my original lawyer that I had just fired promising me everything he could do and saying how easy this was all going to be. How easily he could win my case for about the same fee. The Second lawyer was charging a lot more money for my case and told me how difficult my case was going to be. He pointed out my charges and sternly asked if I knew the severity of them to the point of making me FEEL like I was guilty and a bad person. He promised to win my case but it was going to be tough and because of that it was going to cost more. The third lawyer was Chip Lewis and he turned out to be the one I would hire. Chip Lewis was the ONLY one to call me back himself. He also was the only one who looked into my case before he even met with me. The other lawyers told me to bring the paperwork with all the information I had. Chip took my case very serious and told me all the facts about what could happen to me with my case. His fee was just a little higher but realistic, and now I know he was worth every single penny! From the very beginning he was different than the others and worked with me side by side. I FINALLY felt like he was on my side and it wasn't me against my lawyer! It was US against the courts. He didn't make me any promises and told me he would work diligently to get me the very best outcome that we could get from the court. Chip Lewis had the knowledge and the wisdom to back up every single thing he told me to expect. He told me that it was innocent people like me who get lost in the system that he was working hard to try and protect. For several months he did work hard and showed up with me in court every single time. He called me back, not his assistant, and he worked hard for ME and HIM. In the end, he got both of my charges dismissed. It was a miracle and it was ALL because I hired a "REAL LAWYER" named Chip Lewis! Thank you Chip Lewis...thanks for my Life!

While on bond for a manufactured felony robbery (I had four grand on me when they arrested me so…read moredidn't need to steal, and even though the store tried to make it look like a robbery by not processing the transaction the items never made it outside anyway) I got arrested for a misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief. I had 15000 on me when they arrested me that time, and even though bond was set at $5000, I was not informed until after Chip sent his associate to come see me in jail. I still owed him 20 of the $40,000 fee for the felony...and the associate collected the 15 I had on me toward that when he visited. Even though he did not quote me a fee to represent on the misdemeanors the fact of an attorney visit of course implied he was trying to get me out on the charges relevant to why he was visiting me in jail rather than his office. I'd already been there a week and heard no mention of bail so took his silence on the matter to mean it had been waived on recognizance. Surprised the hell out of me that I was assigned a public defender in the days it took me to get to the phone at a time when I could reach Chip because I sorta doubt I'm eligible. But this whole ongoing fustercluck continues being an unimaginably obnoxious waste of taxpayer money anyway. I was assigned a public defender, and remained in jail for 60 days even though I'd had three times what I needed to make bond with me--and it's still not over. Writing this review now because there won't be any chance to do it if these misdemeanors Chip seems determined to let destroy the felony case (in which one can't help but notice he's using an associate to shield his own win/loss ratio) do what they've obviously been intended to all along. Despite the misdemeanor judge (Linda Garcia) setting my bond promptly after I was arrested, she and the public defender (Eugene Newsom) did not advise me of my bond until about a week after Chip sent someone to relieve me of my bail money -but not represent me-. In summary I do agree with the other reviewers that Chip knows exactly what he's doing. Whereas it's their fortunate privilege to offer that as a recommendation, from my experience thus far it's a warning.

This review is long overdue but I told myself I was going to one when I get a chance so here goes…read more A friend and I decided to visit Houston from California to kick off the new year in 2017. We arrived around 7pm that evening and met up with a few more friends. Around midnight that night, we ended up at out final destination which was a nightclub. While waiting in line to get inside, I looked inside my purse and realized that I didn't have my ID. I told my friend that I didn't have my ID and was immediately approached by this stupid b&%#@ of a female cop and told to leave immediately. I asked her why should I leave. She didn't say anything other then telling me to leave. I informed here that I wasn't going anywhere and that she should just allow me to find my ID... that is might be in the car but that she should just hang on a second. My intention was to call our other friends who were inside to see if they had my ID. The stupid a-hole cop comes charging at me and says LEAVE NOW! I told her that she didn't own PRIVATE PROPERTY and Im not going anywhere and that she wasn't going to do $hit about it. She then cuffed me (super tight btw) and spent the next 16 hours in jail. The charges were so FRIVOLOUS ( terrorstic threat and criminal trespassing). Ruined my trip. Got home on Monday and was immediately on the yelp search for a good attorney. Spoke to about 3 lawyers (whom ALL believed these charges we a joke) before I settled with Mark. His office assistant Jolynn is pretty cool too and helpful. Anyways, Mark was able to reset a lot of my court dates that was accommodative to me and my schedule. Did some digging on this trash female dog cop and found out that she's no clean whistle. Had a habit of lying and wasn't even wearing her body cam that night. Non the less, the DA was kinda harsh and wanted me to have a class C misdemeanor because of course the law is never on your side. Mark was able to work out a deal for me which eventually lead to both charges being DROPPED. Bottom line Mark is super swaggy, upfront and doesn't BS. Unfortunately, houston left a BAD taste in my mouth and I will NEVER return. But Mark is definitley the way to go! I sincerely thank him for getting me out of this BS.

I am leaving this review as I should file a complaint with the Texas State Bar. I opted to allow…read morethe public an opportunity to read a public complaint as the State Bar will likely be dismissive... no need for Mark to "set the record straight on this one, as I've obtained some very telling text messages from him I could add to this review --if he'd prefer. My experience with Mark Moracsh was marked by rude and unprofessional behavior. Communication felt dismissive and, at times, condescending, especially when asking for basic information about the case. In addition to the poor interpersonal conduct, there were serious performance issues--missed deadlines, lack of timely updates, and inaccurate filings with the court. These are fundamental responsibilities of any attorney. Clients should expect both competence and professionalism. Unfortunately, I experienced neither here. Mr. Morasch made decisions in my case without my knowledge, consent, or approval. As a client--particularly one who is knowledgeable about legal matters--I expect transparency and collaboration, neither of which were consistently provided. There were also basic errors in filings. In at least one instance, he incorrectly identified me as the defendant when I was the plaintiff. Additionally, he filed discovery without my authorization, and the timing of that filing was late, resulting in a change to a scheduled hearing date. More concerning, Mr. Morasch entered an appearance in a separate matter after I had explicitly instructed him not to do so. Despite clear direction, he proceeded anyway. When I raised these issues directly, his response was dismissive and unprofessional, stating, "I don't give a shit." Overall, this experience reflected a lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and disregard for client direction. I cannot recommend his services.
