William dolch was good to work with, but his son David was horrendous. Extremely rude and abrasive both in person and on the phone. They scheduled an appointment without confirming the date that I was unable to attend, I called 3 days in advance to reschedule. The lady who answered the phone confirmed that it was rescheduled. David still came out on the previous day when I was at work and when I answered the phone and told him I rescheduled the appointment he started yelling and being very unprofessional when clearly there was a lack of communication within the company. When he did eventually come back out, he didn't bring the proper supplies to patch the wall that had previously tested positive for black mold. We asked for him to come back when it could be properly patched up because we didn't want to risk being exposed to black mold if it was still there. He got an attitude about it and said we would have to pay an additional fee for him to return. It's not our fault he came out and didn't have the proper supplies when he knew in advance which areas we wanted retested! Then they never walked through the test results. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

They utilize fear mongering sales tactics to rope you in and charge astronomical prices for work that they do (in reality don't do). They are very good at this shady sales tactic. We contracted with Indoor Environmental Systems (IES) for several projects and ended paying almost $100,000 when all was said and done. Because of the issues we have experienced as detailed below, I am going to utilize an independent inspector to review all of the work that IES has done for us to make sure the rest is legit, safe and performed as contracts indicate. One of the projects was for 'Closed Crawl Space Repairs'. The scope of work detailed: Ground & foundation walls covered using insulation liner; Foam/foil (150mil) radiant barrier - Provides moisture, radon & temperature control. The main intent for these repairs was to eliminate (at the least reduce) radon. The IES salesman indicated that their process will 'most likely eliminate the radon completely' but that there was a small chance it would not and in that case we would need to contact a radon mitigation company. The completed work had zero impact on the radon levels, so I reached out to a radon mitigation company. They came and did their inspection and informed me the product used by IES is not safe for crawlspaces and does nothing to help with the control of radon. Not only is it highly flammable (they showed me by holding a lighter up to the material and it instantly combusted) but is also against building code ASTE E1745-11 CLASS A, B, C. I contacted IES with this information and was provided with a link to a general product page https://www.insulation4less.com/house-insulation-stop-cold-moisture-air-and-heat by the owner Stephen McLeoud. Nowhere on this page, or any of the specific product detail pages is there any mention of radon, let alone being able to control radon as the scope of work indicates. In a very poor attempt to further divert from being held responsible/liable, Mr. McLeoud also sent me this link: https://www.insulation4less.com/installing-insulation/how-to-insulate-a-crawl-space. He stated, "When reviewing the HOW TO INSULATE A CRAWL SPACE refer to Benefits of Prodex Total Insulation In Crawlspaces, find #7 which states radon resistant." This link talks about sealing the ceiling with the product that was used, however our ceiling wasn't sealed. And using Prodex Total Under Concrete for the floors, which wasn't used on our project and is specific for being used under concrete slabs. Therefore, the statement of being radon resistant is false. Important to note that I tried contacting insulation4less.com (sole distributor of the product used) multiple times over several days to get feedback from them. It went straight to some sketch voicemail every time and I have yet to receive any call back. I even tried to contact the product manufacturer and their phone number is disconnected, and their is no email address on the website. Crazy...

Their consultant (Jeff…read moreVaughan) indicated to me that they "knew my area" and that the soils in my area were likely unsuitable for anything but a very expensive/advanced septic system. Despite their discouragement, I hired him as a consultant to come out to my property and sample the soils for suitability. Their visit confirmed to me that the soils were in line with his preconceived notions that my property couldn't support an expansion of the current LPP system on my property. Shortly thereafter, during the permitting process, Wake county indicated soils suitable for a new repair area. I then hired another soil scientist who determined that my soils were suitable for an expanded LPP area, and were not too far from being acceptable for a conventional septic system. In short, the AWT engineer I hired (Jeff Vaughan) started out with the mindset that it couldn't be done, and ended up coming to the same conclusion. He was pretty adamant that a very expensive system would be required to achieve my end goals. In short, I wouldn't recommend this company - there are soil scientists in the area that will take the time to try and find a workable solution based on your soils - my impression with AWT is that they try to steer you to costly systems (both to install and maintain) that are perhaps better for their bottom line, but not necessarily for the customer.

Fast forward a couple years, we have no water in our home. Come to find out the well she "tested" had been out of commission and didn't even have power for years prior to her examination. Have spoken with several people in this office, they do not care, they will not even provide their insurance carrier information so that we can follow up appropriately. Our family would never have bought (nor been approved) to buy this home without a known, tested and functioning well. Their dishonest report and lack of interest in providing even the most basic assistance has left our family without water for over a month while we try to work with the county to resolve this issue. Hire someone else.
