Well the spa is called Driftwood Spa now. I had such a great experience! First, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I had a 60 minute massage, a sea salt scrub and a paraffin wrap. I felt like a pampered princess the entire time! My massage therapist was Dee and she was wonderful! The whole massage experience was fantastic. The room was dimly lit with calming spa music playing and a diffuser was going with a very calming scent. Dee was great. She was very respectful and professional and the massage was perfect. I felt like a whole new person. The scrub and wrap were definitely great too! My skin felt amazing and it was a great time to just empty my mind. Their sauna is so perfect. It's not too small and they have water available to you as well. After you're done, there is a relaxing room where you can enjoy a complimentary drink and just soak in all all your pampering. I booked a one-hour massage. When the therapist came into the room I asked her where she went to massage school. I was a massage therapist for 14 years. She told me that she was an Esthetician, not a massage therapist. This is not legal! To do massage in the state of Missouri you must have at least 500 hours of massage therapy training plus take the state licensing test. An Esthetician may be qualified to massage a client's face and hands but not a full body massage. This Esthetician had no idea what she was doing so she just rubbed me lightly with oil and it was beyond annoying! I spoke with the manager Shelly and she kept telling me that the Esthetician can give full body massages which is not legal! Shelly told me that the Esthetician could give relaxing massages but couldn't work at a chiropractic office, which isn't how massage therapists work! Shelly didn't even know how many hours a massage therapist even needed to work in the state of Missouri. read more

I booked a shampoo & style for an event I was attending at the Resort. First impressions of the salon was that it was very dated. After getting my hair washed, my stylist started blow drying my hair on low heat. After 20 mins, she stopped drying it and went to plug in a rusted curling iron and asked how I wanted it styled. My hair was still half wet. I asked her to continue drying it, as it was below freezing outside, and, in addition, couldn't be curled without first being dry. She told me she only had another 30 mins until her next client. She offered to let me curl my own hair after she dried it. She didn't comb or part my hair once and didn't know how to properly wash or dry hair. While she was very nice, she had no business doing hair. I ended up styling my own hair for the event and would never go back. I toured the "spa" side as well, and was glad I didn't book a service - changing area had 1 shower and lacked privacy. Could hardly be called a spa. The resort itself was great, but the salon/spa is not owned by them, which could be why it's not up to par. read more

This spa is now called Driftwood and my friend and I just had the most marvelous afternoon there getting massages and facials plus a mani pedi. The women working there were professional and sweet. They truly cared that we totally enjoyed every minute of our experience. We sat in the steam room. We lounged in the relaxation room. I would highly recommend enjoying a service or two. The receptionist was awesome calling us a golf cart to haul us up the hill to our car. We will plan another afternoon next time we're together! read more

My 5 stars are based on service, not necessarily surroundings. Yes, the "Spa" is a bit dated but their friendly service is right on target! I stopped by on Thursday around 1:00 to see about an appointment for the next day. They asked if "now" would work. It did. I had Cassie do my pedicure. It was wonderful. I asked if they had time for my fingernails as well and Dee came in for that service. Perfect timing. So I am getting my fingernails done and another guest was getting a pedicure. It was a pretty small room with only two stations for mani and pedi. Soon all four of us were deep in conversation and really enjoyed our time together. read more

Very interesting facility. Friends going for facial, didn't realize we'd be in one room together. We were running a little late, brought right to the room and asked to lay on the tables, no changing into robes. One table, your head was right at the door; estheticians in/out a couple times during steaming process and disruptive of efforts to relax. Estheticians very kind, offered steam room time since the spa was booked for any additional services inquired. Brought into a bathroom with many lockers and a shower, no lock on door, for showering privacy, nor any space to get dressed after a shower with other guests are needing their own privacy as well. read more

We came to the resort to try this spa based on the reviews... they were WRONG. The spa is small and poorly laid out. The changing room is small and coed without any lock on the door. The robe is a one size fits all. It doesn't! I'm 6' and they had to find a 2x robe... there was not one available in the changing room. There also was not a slipper above size 11. I wear a 13 so I never fit into the slipper. I didn't think it would be a problem until I realized we would be walking up and down the hallway and check-in desk. But I was here to relax so I let it go. The steam room was very noisy and felt dirty. Then we had a wrap. This was the least bad thing my wife and I did. The only bad part of this was the beep from the truck reversing outside for 15 minutes and the lack of a bolster to take pressure off the back and neck. Then they took me to the vichey shower. It is as close to water boarding as I want to get. Absolutely ridiculious. It was a lay down shower. Lay on my front, feet don't fit. May on my back and get sprayed in the face for 20 min. The bath wasn't ready so I was told to sit in the hallway to cool off. That's when I noticed the spider on my shoulder crawling down my robe. I killed the poor spider and then off to the "aroma therapy" bath. We asked before booking and were told is was NOT a bubble bath. It was. It was like taking a bubble bath at your grandmother's house. There were no cool down showers in between services that you normally expect in any hydrotherapy. I asked for something to drink. I expected a bottle of water or to be offered tea or a glass of water infused with fruit. What I received was a glass of water that looked like they stole from an old Pizza Hut. I We paid over $200 for a bubble bath, a noisy crowded environment, to feel very awkward running into other people there having the same odd experience, and a lesson in water boarding. DONT GO HERE! It is where disappointment lives. I left more stressed and with a horrible headache. When changing back to our clothes we discovered that there were no amenities to fix your hair or anything. When we tried to charge this adventure to our room, they couldn't look up our room number despite presenting the resort's card to authorize it. As a parting note, we also asked the woman checking us out where the indoor water park is located. She said she didn't know and directed us to ask questions of the concierge. We later found out that the water park is only one building over. read more
