I have done business with Driggers without issues over the years including purchasing some small but expensive outdoor power equipment. Things have changed. I had an off-brand protable generator that would not start. I changed the carburetor myself. The engine started, but it kept backfiring through the carburetor. I decided I needed some help, and I did not want to disassemble the engine myself. I took it to Driggers. I was greeted with, "We don't work on those!" I came back home. Pulled the valve cover to check for stuck valves. None found. Pulled the head to check for bent/leaking intake or exhaust valve. None found. Reassembled, adjusted valves. Problem persisted. Pulled the flywheel to look for a broken key which would affect engine timing. Not broken. Offshore manufactured spark plug had a small chip out of the tip of the insulator. Never thought that would be a problem. Found a used Champion spark plug in a toolbox that I inherited. It would fit, so I tried it. Nothing to lose since I was about to scrap the machine! Hit the key, and the engine started immediately! Ran the generator under load for an hour with no issues. Bottom line-these people were no help at all! No, I am not from San Fransico. Some default address in the system, I suppose! read more

Had our small residential sized mower there for a blade replacement. I had to call over and over again to get status updates. Several months later I was able to get them to replace the blade and be done. I do not recommend at all. read more

Unfortunately the fix did not work when I got the machine home. So I brought it back, and they had a good record of what they had done I took it back for another look. Recently, Drigger's repaired a 31 year old Stihl string trimmer - w/o & tag #585230, Tech "Steve." The unit was a victim of years of hard use and a leak probably caused by ethanol fuel. It's running fine now with an invoice warning, " ... if it starts leaking again, it's DONE. Carb no longer available for this unit." Most small engine repair businesses wouldn't have even attempted the repair let alone forewarn me about the carb. Kudos! In an age where "customer sevice" seems to be an oxymoron, Drigger's is an exception. Over the past 30 plus years, all my sales, parts, and service interactions with Drigger's Small Engine have been EXCELLENT. Even a cursory glance of their store indicates quality - seemingly low employee turnover, very good housekeeping, well-stocked, high-end product inventory, and a clearly regimented system to handle repairs from drop-off to delivery. I own the following Stihl products all purchased over the years at Driggers: garden tiller, backpack blower, pole chainsaw, chainsaw, 2 hedge trimmers, a Honda generator and self-propelled lawnmower. Wow, hard to believe the bad reviews. I do business with Driggers an average of once per month. We've bought new equipment and lots of parts. We also take equipment their for servicing. Everyone there is very courteous and very knowledgeable. Amazingly they have most parts you may need whether Husqvarna, Briggs & Stratton, Honda, or Stihl. If they don't have it they will get it for you in just a few days. Their repair department has always done a great job on our repairs. When I've taken in equipment that is beyond repair they have always been honest and upfront. Not sure why anyone would have a problem paying a small fee to have a problem diagnose if you don't make the repair? I'm sure their mechanics don't work for free! All in all I'll give them 5 stars for service, price and product knowledge. They are trustworthy and a great go to source for our small engine needs. Kim G. read more

Brought my chainsaw in for a tune-up and sharpening. When I got it back it would start and stall and hard to restart and keep running. It was also leaking gas which never happened before. I brought it back and when they straightened it out they presented me with a $43 bill to replace a gas tank vent that was "missing" after their tune-up. I met the owner who adjusted the bill but still wanted me to pay for a gas tank vent that was "missing" for $14. I told him that I believed it was his tech who lost the vent when he was working on it. He finally wrote it off. Not impressed with Mr. Drigger or his customer service. Will be looking for another dealer. He lost a loyal customer. read more

I wished that I had listened to the reviews. DO NOT take your small engine repair business to this place. I took my lawn mower in on Monday, March 11th, for a minor tune-up (replace spark plugs, change oil and filter) and to sharpen the mower blade. I was quoted $40 for the tune-up and I estimated $10 to sharpen the blade for a total of $50. When I picked up my mower the following day, the price skyrocketed to $116. I asked why the cost was so high when I was quoted $40. I was told they replaced the carburetor, the cable (because the self-propelled aspect of the mower wasn't working) and another part the mower blade is attached to. First and foremost, the self-propelled aspect of my lawn mower was working because I tested it before I took it there (if the self-propelled aspect wasn't working, it was something they did while working on it). Therefore, there should not have been any reason for them to replace the cable. Mind you, my lawn mower is only two years old, so I saw no reason why the carburetor had to be replaced. After much complaining, they took $30 off the $116 they were asking for. When I got the lawn mower home, it wouldn't start. After pulling the starting cord about 8-9 times, it finally started. Then I noticed that anytime I turned the mower or raised it on its rear two wheel a clanking sound could be heard coming from under the deck (as if the blade was hitting on something). I took the mower back to Driggers and informed them that the mower is in worst shape now than it was before I brought it to them. They have had my mower for four days now and I have not heard from them. I just called and was told they will check on the status of my mower and call me back. I went to Driggers for a minor tune-up and a whole lot of other work was done without calling me and without my authorization. As I stated earlier, my mower is only two years old and I did not have any problems - everything worked before I took it to Driggers. USE THIS PLACE AT YOUR OWN RISK. We came to purchase replacement tires for our mower. After talking to an employee, he recommended we bring our flat tires in to see if they could be repaired before spending $60+ on replacing each one. We brought them in, and he was able to repair them on the spot in about 5 minutes. He filled them up, sealed them, and gave them back with no charge. Top notch service, friendly, and informative. Driggers just earned themselves our business. With 18 acres to take care of, I'm sure they'll be seeing a lot of us. read more

Don't shop here or have equipment repaired here. They are well known locally to take advantage of you. They ripped me off, got caught like a bunch of rats and then continue to lie about it later. After about four years I said "I'll give them another try" against the advice of several friends. I let my wife take in a mower for a simple repair job. They returned the mower with the work undone and told my wife that the mower wouldn't run and it would cost another $100 to fix. She said no and brought it home. When I checked it out they had disconnected the safety bar that stops the mower when you let go. I fixed that, changed the air filter and oil and I'm still using this mower three years later. I REPEAT DO NOT bring a mower in for warranty problems without expecting a bullshit story. They will try and tell you there is more wrong with your mower that isn't covered under warranty just to make a dollar off you bc as anyone knows in the major trade field, warranty work doesn't pay as much due to the company compensating the business. So instead they lie to the customers and tell them farfetched stories to try and get their hard earned money. My father is a Korean War Vet. Someone gave him a Husqvana weed cutter. He used it three times. It would not crank. It had an extended warranty on it . They charged him $58 to clean the carb. Our friend paid for the extended warranty and we had no paper , they never gave our friend one. They charged my father for a spark plug and it was only used three times. I'm very unhappy with this business. They were very happy to take my money a year ago when I purchased a Husqvarna lawnmower and Stihl weedeater, only to have to replace a part on the lawnmower this year with no warranty value that I supposedly had. I waited for two weeks for a part that never came in!!!!!!!! Then I got told the part was on back order(very big lie). The part was suppose to be in on July 15th, it is now August 7th, I have yet to hear from them regarding my part. Luckily I went on the internet and recieved the part within two days of ordering it The only reason they got a star is because I couldn't post without it. If you value your hard earned money, don't give it to this business. They will not value you as a customer. Took my DR field mower to be serviced here and after a month of calling they still hadn't looked at it. They called and said it was ready and charged me $120.00 for the service. When I got it home it didn't start and after looking at it I noticed that nothing had been done. I went in to get a zero turn mower. I had a brand in mind. Bruce showed me the one I was talking about. Made me sit in it. Asked me if I was comfortable. I said not really. He took me over to the EX Mark, he made me sit on that one. It was more comfortable. The price was the same as the one I thought I wanted. It had all the features I was looking for. Sat with Tyler for financing and the deal was done. The experience was fast, friendly and no pressure. I asked about delivery, no problem. It arrived as promised, a complete overview of the mower he watched me on it asked if I had any questions, I did they were answered. I was like a kid who just got a new bike for Christmas. They insist it is the carburetor from running ethanol gas. We run ethanol-free gas in ALL our small engines. Too much to repair a trimmer. I think they make money just paying their techs to say it is the carburetor. This was their last chance. Update- after paying $18 for them to tell us it was the carburetor, we discovered it needed a small filter. Son was able to fix it with no knowledge of small engine repair. I wish I would have read the reviews before bringing in my mower. It wasn't ever a year old. Pulled it out for the first time this year and it wouldn't start after the winter hibernation in the garage. Gas was emptied out last year before going in to storage. Filled it up with fresh non-ethanol gas and checked the oil. Wouldn't start. Checked the air filter and it looked brand new. Brought it in to Driggers and when I picked it up had to cough up $107. The mower itself cost me about $250 a year ago. They said it was a combination of bad gas (just put fresh gas in), air filter (checked the filter before bringing it in and it was clean), the spark plug (checked before I brought it in) and having to rebuild the carb. I know that they were full of BS on most of these. I paid the bill and have to admit, it did fire up on the first pull once I got home. I just don't believe all they told me and will not return there for any more service. read more

This staff is a bunch of crooks!!!!!I brought a tiller there to get the pull string re-attached and the spring aligned. At first the lady at the service said the charge would be $26 plus parts. I asked her how much would it cost and to look for the parts needed... she explains that it would be $70 for the part. I explained to her that i would rather buy a new one if that's the case. Next thing you know, she explains that the part would cost $5.00...Funny how that works. Anyways, I received the tiller six days later and paid around $45 for the labor and parts. Upon putting gas, the lower part of the tiller where the fuel lines are located started to leak. I noticed that they have disconnected the line and I re-attached it myself. It constantly leaked and I called and spoke to Michael and he states to bring it in.It did not leak before taking the tiller to them. Once face to face, he accuses me that I deliberately caused this incident. I explained to him that why would I come here, all the way from Moncks Corner, to bring it to him and spend more money. In addition, I explained to him that I took the tiller here to get the pull string re-attached and that the fuel line did not leak before and now it does. He tells me that his guys are HONEST guys and that they have no intention of deliberately sabotaging for pure profit..... WELL BE FOREWARNED EVERYONE, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE BY TAKING MY EQUIPMENT TO GET IT FIXED HERE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
