07/29/13. Update to…read moremy previous rating on Randall Pratt. Today, my husband received another package from Mr Pratt's office demanding John again file answers to an interrogatory on the case. I called Pratt's paralegal, Tim McKivergnan, advising him that as of 07/11/13, the case had been dismissed with prejudice - meaning they can never come after John for this issue again. McKivergnan asked me to hold, then came back to the phone several minutes later stating they had not heard from the court. I advised him that because Pratt had stated he "would not jump through hoops" for John, that John would not extend the courtesy of faxing the now 18 day old letter from the court. It appears Pratt is in desperate need of a good office clerk as he has been unable to submit filings in a timely fashion, on 2 occasions didn't show up in court (with no notice), stated he couldn't find evidence because his computer was broken & now can't find a dismissal by the court. If I could rate this lawyer lower than the 1 I previously gave him, I would. Stay far away from this man... unless you're the defendant, I guess.

We spoke to her assistant who took all the information for our particular issue. The assistant stated they would check for any conflicts of interest and get back to us. This was in October 2022. After not receiving a callback, we contacted them again. Again we spoke to Susan Lowry's assistant who took more information and said she would call to set up a consultation. We called several times over November and December. They never returned our calls or set up a consultation. This was a particularly difficult time, involving an unexpected job loss. If Upton & Hatfield was not interested in providing help, a simple return call saying "we're sorry we cannot offer a consultation" would have been a polite and professional response. Very frustrating given this firm came highly recommended. I spoke to several of my professional contacts letting them know that this firm doesn't seem to care about providing services to individuals. Perhaps just corporate customers and municipalities, but not the little guys.
