My experience trying to obtain a driver's license at this DMV was extremely disappointing. When we first arrived at approximately 12:30 p.m., the employee at the check-in counter was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She informed us that they would not be accepting walk-ins until 1:30 p.m. We asked if there was a numbering system, ticket, or any method to hold our place in line so that we would not lose our position. She stated there was not. Based on that information, we decided to remain in the waiting area near the counter. Within seconds, however, other individuals began walking in and were immediately checked in as walk-ins. One after another, people were added ahead of us. By my count, 21 walk-in customers were checked in before us. At approximately 12:51 p.m., I approached the counter and politely asked why other walk-ins were being checked in after we had been told they were not accepting walk-ins until 1:30 p.m. Her response was, "It's up to my discretion who I check in as a walk-in." The statement itself was concerning, but the rude and condescending manner in which it was delivered made the situation even worse. Another troubling aspect of the experience was the apparent inconsistency in how customers were being selected for walk-in service. During the time we were waiting, I observed numerous individuals being allowed to check in as walk-ins despite being told that walk-ins were not being accepted. Based on my observations, those who were permitted to check in appeared to be Black, while other individuals of different racial backgrounds were told to wait or were not checked in. I cannot know the reasoning behind those decisions, but the appearance of unequal treatment was difficult to ignore and raised concerns about whether all customers were being treated fairly and consistently. Unfortunately, the employee at Counter 2 was also unfriendly and unprofessional. The overall atmosphere in the office felt negative, as though customer service was an inconvenience rather than a priority. Obtaining a driver's license is an important milestone and should be a positive experience. Instead, we were treated with inconsistency, discourtesy, and a complete lack of professionalism. Public service employees represent their organization, and customers deserve to be treated fairly, respectfully, and consistently. To those employees who clearly dislike dealing with the public: if you are unhappy in your role, please do not take it out on the people who come to your office seeking assistance. A little courtesy and professionalism can make a significant difference in someone's day. read more

The building on Michael Blvd is much nicer, and unprofessional!! The people at this facility lacks the requisite skills for their position I don't see how the personal board hired these people. You will be better off getting a passport than a STAR ID, I wish someone would do an TikTok on their experience there to see how they turn people around. read more

I was impressed with the speed here. I came to get a star ID and was slightly worried about the line and wait time because the line was very long, but they do open on time and get the line moving pretty quickly. The space is small inside which explains the line outside but they do get you in and out once you make it inside. The staff that I came across was very friendly and helpful to any questions I had. Everyone in there is miserable and the wait is very long. A very large black most likely lesbian woman with dreadlocks and a nasty attitude was my driving instructor and she was very unprofessional. She was on her phone for the entirety of the exam and failed me for complete bullshit reasons (I consulted with other people who also said she was full of shit). If you're going to hire people, hire professional people who know how to drive and be polite to people. I waited from 7:50 to 11:45 just for this bullshit. Any dmv is better than this one. My sister took her driving test Friday with the best instructor she could get she was lovely as can be & she did not pass do to one error bumping a curb at a 3 point turn in a narrow street which was understandable, but the instructor explained and I wish I could've got her name!! Now today Monday they had the worst most ugliest attitude instructor assigned and I cannot tell you I wasn't the only one who noticed the excruciating vibe from this lady my sister did exactly as she did the first exam and this lady turned her around two min later due to "not looking both ways" c'mon you know she did like if you want her to break her neck to make it stupid visible I'll let her know for next time. Ofcourse it might be a little wait time but I expect that from an busy office . Examiners were all nice and very helpful . Patience is the key and visiting offices like this you have to have it . A news crew just left....I've been here for an hour just to replace a lost license. The BIGGEST PROBLEM this place has is an issue with TIME MANAGEMENT as well as a efficient use of clerks. The employees here seem to be more concerned with a lunch time..They seem to not have a problem telling people they will have to wait 2 hours. There has literally been one window doing most service and the others remain empty. These issues could be fixed with PROPER MANAGEMENT AND LESS LAZY and UNMOTIVATED EMPLOYEES. I work 12 hours a day and rarely get lunch and I damn sure wouldn't take one with 50 people waiting on me. This place could do better with 2 committed employees than however many is in the break room right now. read more

The office is supposed to open at 7:00 am. The finally opened the door about 10 after. I was first in line. Only waited for about 10 minutes, meanwhile, I filled out the questionnaire. The scanned my documents in and took my photo. All in all it was about a 30 minute visit. This was to the the "Star" license which requires more detailed documentation. Overall good trip. Recommend going early on Wednesdays. read more
