Overall, I had an okay experience with this driving school. I usually had a different instructor each time. Sometimes, instructors would be on their phone or using their phone at a red light. This happened with almost all instructors. Margarita (an older female instructor) had 2 full phone conversations during one of my lessons. When I had my lesson with her, I got into a car that wasn't clearly marked as a student driver car (though it did have a double break) and I felt really uncomfortable driving it as it felt like the steering wheel needed to be realigned. I also was frustrated when instructors would start my lessons late and finish early, losing almost 10 mins of practice sometimes. As I was finishing up with the school and trying to schedule my road test and reschedule one lesson, it was a little difficult to get this done. I had to call 3 separate times on the same day because the person who answered the phone was too busy and asked me to call back later to finish up. This was a little frustrating. Still, I think there are some good instructors and good qualities to this school. To start, the price for what you get is really unbeatable. I purchased a 10 lesson package with a road test and 5-hour class included. The instructor, Chuckie (I'm not sure if that's his name) was my favorite. He was very straightforward, focused, and helpful when I asked questions. He also gave me a lot of pointers and tips that made me feel more confident as I went into following lessons. You have to advocate for yourself a little bit as I find this school to be slightly disorganized (probably due to how many student drivers they are working with), but you'll definitely get your license if you put in the work and communicate well. I earned my license on May 7th on my first try and am looking forward to practicing more and getting better. I would recommend this school to anyone just trying to learn the basics or anyone who needs a few practice lessons before their road test. read more

Honestly the service is horrible and they find an excuse to scam you for your money. If you call the day before/ week before or even an hot ahead and ask to push your lesson back a bit they'll deduct it from your time (the time you PAID FOR ). I spend a good $300 dollars with this driving school and you'll think that they'll be alittle bit more helpful or they'll provide decent customer service but no not all. ANY CHANCE THEY GET TO SCAM YOU THEY WILL. I paid for three driving lessons with one person that way I can progressively improve with ONE person. But guess what? Each three lessons was with three absolutely different Hispanic men. & they don't even remotely resemble one another. One has a pony tail, one has a bald cut, one wears glasses. They all look absolutely different. At the beginning of the lesson she even wrote down the initial instructors name & number next to my appointment. But still gave me different men. Then said its MY fault AND the guy I wanted is not working that day BUT I was later told he was working that day but given to some one else. I paid for a 1.5 hr lesson I got there 9 minutes late but called 3 hrs earlier and asked for a 20 minute grace period b/c I KNEW i was coming late since I was traveling from Canarsie Brooklyn to the Bronx. They said "NO YOU JUST GET WHAT EVER TIME IS LEFTOVER". I got soo annoyed and brushed it off my lesson started I 1:00 till 2:30. I arrived at 1:09 and seen a different man as my instructor and questioned her about it but she instead gave me the run around I got in the car at 1:15 and the instructor brought me back at 2:10 ( LESS than one hour of the 1.5 hr that I PAID FOR) Then the day of my road test I paid for a warm up lesson. My road test starts at 2PM. I reached at 12:15 she said because I was "late" she can't give me my warm up lesson that's absolutely scamming! It's really unfair I never met a company so greedy for money that they'll absolutely embarrass, scam, disrespect and belittle their clients. This place needs to close down. read more

I took 10 lessons. My instructor had his phone out while texting every time we went driving. Overall, there are probably much better places to go to. Needless to say, I failed my road test. I don't necessarily 100% blame them since I should have practiced more, but I felt my instructor had put in the bare minimum effort towards my lessons. Very disappointing. HORRIBLE!!!!! DRIVE AWAY!!!!!!! My bf got the short end of the stick going to this place. He found it on Groupon and was really eager to learn. Like the girl below said.. The woman whose English was horrible WAS THAT BAD. He speaks Spanish and it was still that bad to understand since she kept talking in English. She told him everything opposite of what the male driver stated what to do, SHE EVEN TOLD HIM TO DRIVE ON THE 2 YELLOW SOLID LINES??? SHE WAS EATING WHILE "TEACHING" SHE KEPT POINTING AT THE TURN RATHER THAN SPEAKING BC HER MOUTH WAS FULL. She doesn't care about teaching and NO patience. I am writing this bc he doesn't have yelp and he's not the type to really complain but I feel bad since his road test is in 4 days! He did say the guy driver was helpful but now he's discouraged from being taught by a bad teacher that contradicted everything he was previously taught from the male driver! Your driving school needs to get in sync with its teachers updates of rules and guidelines or only have one teacher teach one student because this is horrible. HE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! read more

This driving school and its instructors have helped me do the damn near impossible.......After 21 years and i failed test, I passed my Road Test and it was all due to them and their abilities. I don't recommend this business. On May 11, 2017 the morning of my driving test, they told me show up 7:30am. I was there at 7:30. I waited no one showed up. I called the number several times no one answered. I waited for 30 minutes before the guy finally showed up. After getting in the car, I was pretty mad and it was obvious because my facial expression showed it. The guy said nothing to me. No apology no nothing he just drove, finally he stops at havemeyer Ave and Randall Ave in the Bronx. Still no word. We have been in the car for the pass 30 minutes still now work just awkward silence. Am already nervous about my test, this experience is not making it better. So now the car has been in park for more than 30 minutes am I don't even know why we stopped. We are just here. Silence and more silence. Awkward and more awkward. , terrible Service. Do not recommend. Finally I broke the ice. I asked what are we doings here. I would not recommend this school at all ! I purchased 8 lesson package and I completed 6 before taking my road test which I didn't pass ! so I had 2 remaining . I decided that I would use the last 2 to make them into highway lesson and another one before my next road test appt again . a couple months went by because of life situation so when i reached back out they said they couldn't find my file and had me on hold for 20 mins while they looked. no one every picked up so I hung up and called again this time I provided them with the original date i purchased my package nd walah they were able to now find my file -__- . whatever but than they proceed to tell me I must pay them because i missed my last two lessons. I know that was a lie because after failing my first road test I never scheduled the last lessons I had because I was so discouraged . when I explained this they told me I was lying and I had to pay in order to schedule the lesson. I got a package here for the 5 hour pre licensing course with 4 classes. At the beginning, scheduling was a bit of a hassle because instructions were not very clear by the receptionist and it was quite difficult to get through the phone line. When I initially called, I was told to just come in for the 5 hour pre licensing class on Saturday, even though it was full. I wanted to play it safe so I waited for the following available Saturday to attend. I went to the school on Saturday for the pre licensing class and scheduled all my lessons along with my road test. After four lessons, I DID NOT FEEL READY. I kept getting different instructors each time who told me different things to do while I was driving and it got really frustrating. It was also annoying because the lesson structure varied from instructor to instructor. Each time I got into the car, an instructor would ask me if I had been taught x,y, z. Some instructors were o-kay -- too much talking not enough driving, others seemed like they did not want to be there, and then there was one instructor, Mike, whom I had the most positive experience with. I ended up requesting specifically for him (if he was available). Mike was super patient, knowledgeable, provided constructive criticism each time I had a lesson with him, and overall a good instructor that led to my passing of the road test. Here's a tip -- If you feel like you are not ready for the road test, buy your additional classes or package EARLY because scheduling fills up so quick. I had finished 4 lessons in April and was not able to book until June for the lessons I added on. Overall, this school is OKAY. I think some things can be improved. For instance, giving students consistent and PROFESSIONAL instructors each time they have a lesson so there's no question of "did you learn this already? each time they get into the car. I understand that this is a money making business but perhaps leave some space for current students who want to add on lessons sooner rather than waiting a MONTH later. And of course, as a paying customer, please speak up for yourselves if you are dissatisfied with a lesson. You CAN ask for a specific instructor and if you want to improve in an area more or want feedback, JUST ASK. This is a two way street (See what I did there?) :) read more

Felt ok about them until today. The lady at the front desk is very accommodating and helpful (the only reason for the star). I purchased a package from groupon which included one lesson. After the first lesson, which went well, I decided to pay for another one closer to my test date. My second lesson was with the female instructor (I believe she is the only female driving instructor.) She is the worst! Not only did she show up thirty minutes late, when I got in the car she was on the phone for an additional 5 minutes like I wasn't there. Her English is terrible! I would have been fine working with it if her attitude wasn't so nasty. All in all I went on the road with her lazy, nasty self for about 10 minutes before I cut it short because of how uncomfortable she made me feel with her belittling tone. This school aint what it used to be. 3-4 years ago they had excellent teachers. Now? They will rip you off. I recommended people to this school and they were all pissed when they left. Their bundles aren't good because, it honestly takes more than a month to actually learn how to drive SAFE. They give you a early date for the driving exam and you pick a package. Its set up for failure. You have to practice on your own because you going to need more than 5-8 classes. And you never get the same teacher now which is uncomfortable. One of the teachers kept touching my brother while he was driving and he got very uncomfortable. He took his 5 hour class certificate and never came back. They charge 30 dollars for driving exam...people you can register yourself for 10 dollars! I highly don't recommend this place. read more

Let me preface this review with the following. I really wanted to give this place a chance and had high hopes. I was excited to begin the process of learning how to drive, especially since I've never been behind the wheel. When I first came to the office for information it was busy (considering the prices) but the woman at the front desk as well as the gentleman who sat behind her were very pleasant (so far so good). They advertise that they provide a free assessment to see how many lessons you would potentially need (which never happened). I consider myself a relatively competent person but knew I would need to learn to finesse some things so I blindly went for the eight lesson package (@$299) After the 5hr course my lessons were scheduled. On my first lesson I was told to take the drivers seat, albeit a bit jarring since again I've never been behind the wheel. I was asked how many lessons I purchased (to which I responded eight) and I was told that I should be fine. Out of the eight lessons I took, I had FIVE different instructors in FOUR different vehicles (in fact I took my road test in a vehicle I had only had one lesson in). It was difficult to gauge my progression with those factors taken into consideration and needless to say, I failed my road test. What is perhaps the most irritating part in all of this was that I had asked my instructor during my last lesson whether or not I in fact needed more lessons to which he responded "You should be fine." Obviously I was ill prepared. I personally would not recommend this place for someone who has never gotten behind the wheel in their life (because of the inconsistent instruction) however if you've had some experience and need the lesson on a technicality then by all means (considering the price point) go for it. Pros -Groupon -Lowest price point for packages I've found in The Bronx -Pleasant Staff/Instructors Cons -Inconsistent Instruction/Instructors -Old Vehicles -Not guaranteed that you will you use a familiar vehicle on road test (by familiar I mean having had more than one lesson in said car.) read more

If you want to learn how to drive I would not recommend this school to anyone. I requested lessons from this school in early August the lessons I received were in late September. My friend who chose the Castle Hill school got five lessons and road tests before I stepped foot in one of their cars but I was told late September was the earliest date possible. Later I showed up late to my first lesson and asked If I can reschedule they asked me to pay $20 fee for it. Then it gets worse my 2nd, 3rd and fourth lessons were all thought by different people who did not know what I did the previous lesson which was very frustrating for someone learning how to drive. Lastly, my lesson before the road test was missed because I am a college student and had to take an exam I was told the next lesson I can take is in November which is in two months out. Furthermore, I offered to pay $85 to rent out a car for the road test they told me the slot I wanted was booked because they can only take one person at a time. I ended up not taking my road test and not evening getting my last lesson because according to them I have to wait two months for one missed lesson. If you are a student driver and want to learn I recommend the Castle Hill progressive school they are much more flexible and reliable which are two very important things people need with busy schedules. I got my package on groupon , which included the 5hour class, two 45min lessons and the roadtest appointment, it was a good deal .My instructor walter was great ! Made me feel at ease and suggested i take one more class before my roadtest(which i did) on june 15th i passed my roadtest! Passed my Road test today! Would definitely recommend Alfredo great instructor very kind and patient. There was an issue on the administrative side my sister also received a few lessons but on her last one they called her to reschedule the lesson from 5pm that day to 330pm then called Again to reschedule her to 230pm when she told them she couldn't make it that early they told her she hadn't finish paying off her lessons when she did. In their defense though, it was paid under my card. But they still need to work on the organizational part. All in all though the end result was great! read more

I went to this driving school because of their Groupon deal, which included the mandatory 5-hr class and a lesson. After the lesson, I asked the instructor's honest opinion as to how many lessons I needed before the road test. He said, about 4, and I appreciated this honest assessment (he could've said more). Michael was my instructor and he was calm and knowledgeable. He gave me techniques on improving my parallel parking skills and acceleration (I'm kinda heavy footed). I'm proud to say that I passed my road test. Definitely recommend...the staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Got an AWESOME coupon on Groupon (cheapest in the Bronx). VERY simple and easy process and was able to schedule my driving test in Yonkers the same day I received my 5 hour class. I highly recommend this driving school! I felt comfortable with the instructors throughout each and every lesson. Although, I had different instructors in each class and had to practice on two different cars, I think this actually helped me become more comfortable behind the wheel. Needless to say, I took my road test, in a car that I had never driven. I've noticed some reviewers complain about having different instructors but I actually loved this because (from a personal experience) I learned something new and different from each. I've worked with other driving schools in the past that made learning how to drive a horrible experience; however, the staff here provided a high level of professionalism, understanding and patience. I started driving early January with my dad. He showed me the main techniques i needed to pass the exam. I was still nervous about parking and the 3 point turn. That's when my best friend told me about this groupon for this driving school. The groupon was for the 5 hour class, 1 lesson and the scheduling of the road test. I called to set this up early April. the first step is to take the 5 hour class. Once that's over, they schedule you for the lesson and the road test. They were very accommodating with my schedule. My lesson was scheduled for early May and the road test was May 22. I took the lesson with Chuck. He was very nice and helpful. He gave me a few pointers on what i can do to make the parking and 3 point turn less stressful for me. Also helped me remember what i was doing (gear, signal, wheel). Needless to say, i passed my road test on the first try using my dad's car. They were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for new drivers especially those who already know how to drive, just need reassurance. read more
