this driving school is the BEST in NYC. Staff are very knowledgeable , friendly and professional. they displays great altitude at all times. I highly recommend the first class driving school on Westchester / Simpson. My instructor was junior and he made me feel as comfortable as possible. Always kept me calm, even if I were a tad bit nervous. If your looking for someone to show you everything you need to know the right way to be able to pass your driving test, he's the right one to go to. you won't regret anything one bit because they want to see you pass and care to the max. Good prices, mediocre service, rundown vehicles. I purchased the 5 lesson package and unlike some driving schools, here you are taught by multiple instructors so each lesson is like a fresh start which may be a pro or con depending on how you view it however, I did not really care for it. At the beginning of each session I was asked the same questions - Have you driven before? How many lessons did you purchase? and When is your road test? On the day of the road test I went in a car with 2 other students and it took hours to complete the process but I passed and that is what really matters. I went to this driving school after looking at a bunch of reviews on Google. Boy, did I make a terrible mistake. Everyone that reviewed this place was raving about the prices and the great driving instructors. Yet, my experience was a bit different. This place advertises that you get multiple instructors. However, even with the 10 class package, I was only taught by one instructor, Ghufri. The instructor asked me if I drove before. I told him two or three times, which meant I had almost no experience. I guess to him that meant I had all the experience I needed. He was always either on his phone texting or taking phone calls which really got in the way of my class and he'd spend more time going to the deli store to get red bulls. At least offer me some if you're gonna use my money like that. He never taught me the basics of the road, and never told me what to do till I did something wrong. For the most part, as a student you're just told to do turns and park. We wasted about 10 minutes driving back and forth to the site and back and each class is about 45 minutes. What a scam!! After 10 classes I was still did not feel comfortable. If you have a driver in your family, you will be fine here. However, if you do not have any drivers in the family and never had any experience at this location DO NOT GO HERE! They will waste your time and money. read more

Just passed my road test today. Had 3 lessons with 3 different instructors but Orlando was the best once and he also took me to the road test site. What I learned from him is what stuck with me the most and I now have a license. Only negative is that the lessons started late at times but other than that they're solid. read more

After spending close to $500 on lessons, I wound up failing my road test. Now, I can't say with all certainty that my failing score was the result of subpar training, but I CAN say that there were many warning signs that the instructors (and the administration) were not at all invested in me as a client nor were they concerned with whether I passed or failed. In fact, I got the sneaky suspicion that they'd rather me fail since then they could charge me for more lessons. The whole driving school's model seems to be set up so as to maximize the number of students and have them take as many courses as possible in order to yield the greatest profit margin -- even if it means them failing their road test two or three times. The whole thing started feeling like a big scam around lesson number 5, when I realized that the instructor still didn't even recognize me, know my name, or have any clue regarding the date for which my test was scheduled. Even worse, he couldn't say exactly what I needed to work on and gave me no insights on what to expect during the test. Another five lessons ensued, three of which were with a different instructor (this one rather rude and too busy looking at his cell phone to worry about my performance on the road, save for the occasional shout about how hard it is to pass the test, which wasn't exactly reassuring). The day of the road test, my original instructor was nowhere to be found (apparently he was in DR on vacation) and I was stuck with the rude instructor I'd had on three occasions. He was abrasive and disinterested throughout the day. Moreover, I had to use a different vehicle than the one I'd practiced in for all those weeks (again, because my original instructor vanished into thin air and no one felt it necessary to give me a heads-up). After I failed, the instructor just said, "You'll try again" and shrugged it off. Meanwhile, I'd spent all my cash on the lessons and felt like a complete and utter failure. Now, they're basically telling me I have to wait another 2 months for a new road test and that I need more lessons if I'm to pass. My gut instincts were apparently on point: this is one big scam, folks! read more

I went to this driving school after having paid over $500 for a total of ten classes at another driving school and HATING the instructor I had. I purchased an additional 8 classes at this driving school and passed my driving test on the first try. My instructor, Joseph, was absolutely wonderful, to say the least. He was calm and he coached me through the process. Keep in mind that I am/was a very nervous driver and I was so so scared of the road. Joseph worked with me and helped me calm down. He explained the importance of staying calm while on the road and gave me awesome feedback on how to make my turns, how to park and how to stay in my lane. This driving school was horrible. DO NOT GO WITH THIS SCHOOL!!! They continually canceled my appointment and the instructor even had me stop for him to go get fruit at a store. The worst part was that the car was in horrible shape. You really had to push down hard on the brakes. The day of my road test, the car wouldn't even start which made me nervous about missing my test. They got a boost from a taxi driver and it turned on, but I was worried the whole time. I highly recommend First Class Driving School. I was a late learner (age 39) when I started my lessons. If they helped me- they can help anyone! I called many driving schools in my initial search for a school and I found that they were the most organized and responsive. If I needed to make any changes to my schedule, First Class was very helpful. I balance work and family, so that was a must. The teacher Ghufri is super relaxed, and has the perfect personality for a teacher. I initially tried to have someone in my family teach me, so I know the difference :) He teaches you the important basics, and I found if you ask for specific help like extra parallel parking, or parking lot navigation etc. he will also accommodate. I felt exceptionally prepared for the exam, and I am pleased to say that I am now a licensed driver and loving it! You can trust them with your lessons. read more

This post is late but relevant. I went to the Westchester location in Sept 2018 and paid for the 10 driving class package. I had no experience in driving. I paid around $380 but I received a percent off because I was a college student. After reading the reviews I knew I had to be taught by Junior. When I went he was very professional and all of the employees there are as well. They want to see you pass your license. After I took my five hour class They scheduled me for a October 2018 road test. With the ten package I took one driving class a week. By the second lesson I had already knew how to park from Junior techniques.He said to me you are going to pass this road test just follow my techniques. By the fourth lessoned I mastered both parking and 3 park turning. The other six lesson we continue with parking,3 park turning, all road test requirements and making your I kept the appropriate speed. By the end of the ten lessons I felt very confident. The day before my road test I paid for one more additional lesson just as a fresher. The day of the road test he drove me and another student and prepped us. He let us know exactly what to expect and the day plan out just as he said. So to end this story I passed my road test on the first try .Junior held good to his promise.
