Good place to grab a quick meal, always hot and fresh. Quick service, very little wait if any.

It is only open for lunch from 11-2pm Tuesday through Saturday. We made sure we got in line a few minutes before 11am. Yes a line, so get there early. The doors opened right at 11am and you order from the counter and have a seat. The staff is welcoming and assist with the line and seating to have everything move smoothly. The prices were not bad at all and we got alot of food. The fried chicken is out of this world. A must get. You won't regret it. It is so flavorful with crispy skin, yet moist chicken. Also, it is not super greasy which was my favorite part. I enjoyed the green beans and corn on the cob. The jalapeño corn bread was amazing! My mom got the black eyed peas, mac n cheese, and regular cornbread with her fried chicken. She raved about the black eyes peas. We also ordered banana pudding and Mrs. Pearl's Cheesecake. The banana pudding was my favorite and a great sweet treat to round out my southern meal. The inside of the diner is not very large but does have plenty of seating inside and some outside. While we did not see Mrs. Pearl, her sister greeted us and was definitely running the diner while we were there.

Now, for the record, I love non-corporate truck stops, and there are still many out there, but they are a dying breed, especially when they feature a mom and pop diner. I've now been here on two separate occasions, and it hasn't disappointed me either time. The place has a kind of late 70s/early 80s charm to it. Tables on tile floor, art painted on wood trimmed walls. Feels comfy and familiar to me. My first go around, was late in the evening, and I was feeling breakfast, so I strolled up to the counter and looked at the menu. I'm a sucker for a good omelette, so I went with the Western omelette, and smothered it and the hash browns both in country gravy, so that's what I ordered. One of the things I love about truck stops is the large portions for a good price, and in today's economy, there's nothing wrong with that. I paid for the omelette, and found a table, and a few minutes later the girl who took my order brought it to me, with an exceptionally large glass of water. I dug into it, and while the egg was a little thin and not quite fluffy enough, it was stuffed with enough peppers, onions, sausage, bacon and cheese to make it filling enough on its own. The toast and hash browns were just a little something extra. But I ate every bite on that plate. That gravy was worth the extra cost and tied the whole thing together nicely. I was sated, and perhaps a little food drunk when I left. Today, I tried the Chili Cheese fries. Again, I paid at the counter and again they brought it to me, with that large glass of water accompanying it. The chili was obviously homemade and was of the beef variety without a bean to be found, there was plenty of cheese on it, and onions too! (Which I added to it.) it also was delicious and well portioned. Both times here, the service was friendly and great, and I left feeling full. Absolutely no complaints about this place. And since it's on my work route, I'm sure I'll be there again to try other things.

It truly feels like you just walked off the beach and straight into a laid-back island restaurant. The food? Unreal. So good I completely forgot to snap a pic of the shrimp and grits--they were THAT good. And the biscuit... wow. It tasted like something your great-grandmother would've had sitting on the table all day, warm and perfect. Coffee was spot on too (especially with a splash of Bailey's ), and the spuds were seriously mouthwatering. Add in the great music and chill vibe, and it's just a cool little spot you'll want to keep coming back to. Highly recommend!!

Liz's exterior appears a little downtrodden and parking a bit limited, but inside is welcoming with a bright and shiny Louisiana ambiance. We had excellent service and Liz herself dropped by and welcomed us. We ordered a variety of specialties, with me enjoying an egg scrambler with all the trimmings, my wife having a sumptuous roast beef po'boy and my son having a burger and fries. All were very good and our iced tea glasses were never allowed to be empty. We were seated immediately, but business is brisk and you may need to be prepared to wait at peak times. We look forward to returning!
