I then called the after hours service, and still was unable to reach a doctor. It's completely unacceptable!! I will file a formal complaint with Florida Department of Health.

Dr. Jonathan Cooper at the west Pines office is everything that's wrong with the medical field and…read moreI've been to so many hospitals and seen so many doctors in and out of the country in my lifetime. As soon as we started speaking it felt like he just wanted to debate or verbally spar. I told him my problem and explained what was happening to MY body everyday and he told me I was wrong while maintaining a very smug smirk on his face for the entire encounter. Not even could he fake concern or support during our conversation. When I told him I had an infection earlier in the year he told me that my condition doesn't cause infection-- as if the doctors I saw at urgent care knew less than him or I don't know what an infection is. He told me no other doctor would perform surgery as if his word was the be all end all. When I told him I disagreed that my condition would heal itself because I've been dealing with it for over 6 months now and it hadn't done what he said it would-- he said 'well I have however many years in this field'-- as if everyone isn't different and has different bodily experiences. I asked if he were able to help with temporary relief and he declined. Meanwhile, I researched prior to my appt and saw that ENT doctors are quite literally one of the only specialties that are able to safely assist and have the tool to help. When I said it can't be that there's no help or treatment, there has to be something that can be done-- his response was "that's a false statement", again while maintaining that smug smirk. Instead of listening to my concerns and even remotely attempting to help he just waited for me to say anything and then debated it. I've never had a doctor respond to my request for care with "that's a false statement" as if I were at work in a courtroom so cheers to 'firsts'. One thing I've learned in my life is when doctors debate your patient experience with you-- RUN! So I calmly got up and left after I told him I wasn't interested in arguing with him. His response: I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm not sure what other doctors are in this office, but it's interesting that they chose him to share office space with. To be clear, the front office staff were very nice and pleasant and it was a smooth process to check-in. Perhaps there are other doctors that are better and more caring at the office, but I'd steer clear of this one. I think I should have known when I was able to get a new patient appointment today for tomorrow. I didn't have to wait 24 hours to see this man, feels very ''my patient load is light' and I don't blame anyone for not wanting to see him.
