We did the Eat the Castle tour at the Fairmont back in August and it was an okay experience. We do…read morefood tours everywhere we go and honestly, wouldn't rate this one super high. For one, it's expensive - over $300 for the both of us. We've never paid that much for a food tour so we had high hopes. The content was okay and the portions were big but the food honestly wasn't amazing. Plus, we had one gal in our group that had multiple allergies and they didn't plan it correctly so instead of catering one plate to her allergies, they had one plate alcohol free, one plate meat free, etc - and instead of taking back the extras and fixing it for everyone else, they just handed out her allergy plate. For example, there was one steak with a fermented beet sauce and fermented blackberry and since I was sitting next to her, they gave me the plate without either because it was made to be "alcohol free". To pay $150+ for this tour and not get what you paid for was a little disappointing. It was fine, just nothing special. I think a walking tour in downtown Banff would probably make more sense!

I didn't know what to expect, or better yet, I wasn't expecting much. And what a surprise, it was AMAZING! Karen, the owner was so friendly and knowledgable. The ladies attending the tour were very welcoming, the bus was comfortable and the tour was great. Who knew that cookies were so enticing. We visited 5 different locations, all incredible. The samples were generous and each location provided for enough treats to gain a few pounds, LOL! It started at Calgary's Farmers Market WEST with a delicious orange ginger juice, coffee, berries and the best hamburguer ever. There we visited the chocolatier and Yum Bakery, omg, the chocolate and the cookies were amazing, then we visited Mercato, Metro Vino, Crave and others that I forgot the name. It was fun, informative, delicious, very well organized, great hosts. Learnt a lot about the amazing food happening in Calgary, so super highly recommended!!

We were lucky that our group was just four people; I can imagine it would not be as enjoyable in full season with multiple groups of eight (the maximum size) in the cave. I was surprised they run the tours year-round, as the hike to the cave must be a little challenging with snow and ice on the ground. Although they provide all the equipment: knee pads, crampons etc. And believe me, you will need all of it! My upper body was sore the following day; you certainly want to be in good shape to tackle this advendure! You also need your own car to drive first to the office, and then to the start of the hike. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and I am glad I did this tour. An experience I won't forget!

Huge shout-out to Brent: thank you for treating us like adults who can make our own choices, without trying to instill fear or hesitation. In many tours, choices are often "suggested" based on perceived ability, but you allowed us to embrace each challenge as it came. The whole experience was educational, fun, and lighthearted--truly unforgettable. I can't recommend this experience enough. I discovered so much about my own limits, all thanks to the supportive, carefree atmosphere you created for our group. The knowledge you shared was invaluable, and your demeanor was perfect. I felt challenged in a way that pushed me to grow without ever feeling afraid. This speaks volumes about the quality of the tour and the guidance you provided. Thank you for an experience we'll never forget--one we'll be talking about for years to come!

I had an amazing week with them horseback riding, white water rafting, biking, hiking, visiting a dog sled camp and taking an ice walk. Every detail I could think of was taken care of and every question I had answered! Heather and Katrina were SO much fun and so knowledgeable! They made the week come alive with their stories about each and every area we visited. In a world where customer service is sometimes lacking, the level of professionalism shown by this agency and the guides it supplies is beyond reproach. I can only hope that any guides I have in the future are as amazing and make my travel and activities so seamless, detailed and wonderful. Thank you Heather and Katrina for an AMAZING and unforgettable week!

Thank you for a most memorable week in the mountains!

Always an item on my Calgary bucket list, I decided to bite the bullet and register for a Calgary…read moreGhost Tour. We opted for the Haunted Pub Walk as I find spirits are most enjoyable in the company of spirits. Registering was easy and you can pay with paypal. You then need to check the calendar for any information regarding where and when to meet. We met our guide at the base of the Calgary Tower at 8:00 P.M., where true to his word, he was wearing a top hat and a cape. He started our ghost story with a tale of a workplace injury resulting in death during the construction of the Calgary Tower and offered anecdotes from "witnesses" that had felt the presence of the ghost. First off, I am on the fence about this ghost business. I want to believe, but I just can't commit to the idea of haunting. This stated, I do believe in the history that comes with the stories and found our guide to be very knowledgeable in this area. I was really happy that the tour was mostly historical peppered with the rumours of the "hauntings" The downtown haunted pub walk consists of 2 pubs where you stop in for a beverage and a few more tidbits of Calgary trivia. The general public would wander over at times during our tour to listen in and our guide was very respectful in letting them know that it was a private tour we had paid for, but they could stay for one story if they so wished. I will be signing up for another ghost tour -- hopefully the one in Inglewood. It made for an interesting educational evening and a unique date night. At $15 a person (not including your beverages), it's not unreasonable. The only suggestion I would make is to bring bug spray. The mosquitoes tried to eat us alive and leave us to haunt Stephen Avenue. Please note that they do not have a phone number and can be contacted via email: info@calgaryghosttours.com

It's a set price that come with pastry which was a blueberry scone, entree: 3 types of sandwich (egg, chicken, and salmon) and lastly dessert. The scone was a bit undercooked. We informed the server and she immediately give us another one to replace it. The sandwiches was ok nothing special about it and same with the dessert (the Macarons was a bit too sweet for me and the rest is fine). A bit disappointed with the food but I give it a 3 for good customer service and nice vibes atmosphere. Our server was really nice she constantly make sure our tea cup is filled and hot. She also let us try different types of tea and of course replace our scone. Overall, very nice venue hopefully they will improve on the pastry and dessert.

What is an additional bonus is the vegetables and herbs are used in the restaurant.
