3, 2, 1, Shakespeare! You don't have to be a fan of Shakespeare to enjoy this production. It's more of a comedy show with an element of improv and debauchery lol. My friend purchased tickets through Groupon. The second time we went, the employee gave us a free upgrade from balcony to mezzanine which was awesome. If you want to splurge, they do offer the royalty throne seats which they will auction off at the start of the show. As royalty, you do have some control during the show which adds to the fun. The Emerald Theater is small and intimate and is designed as a library. When you enter, you receive a welcome shot and a membership card. Each seat has a QR code that you can scan to order food and drinks before and during the show. I've gone to two productions and both have been hilarious! The cast was actually different between the two shows and they both did a fantastic job! I saw "Romeo and Juliet" last summer. The show was raunchy and went off the rails pretty quickly. If you're easily offended, I would recommend skipping this show. It loosely followed the plot and was so wild (in the best way)! A few months later, we saw "A Christmas Carol" (3, 2, 1, Dickens!). We were chatting with one of the actors, Tatiana before the show and she offered me the opportunity to take a shot with her. What I didn't realize is that I was going to be doing a shot on stage with her at the start of the show to prove that the alcohol was real (it was straight rum). She took 4 shots of rum and held her own! It was actually quite incredible lol. The show was so funny and not quite as raunchy as Romeo and Juliet. The Drunk Shakespeare Society also performs "Drunk Dracula" in October. They have a pirate show that's going to debut this summer as well (which I'm sure will be hilarious). This is such a fun experience and I am looking forward to going back!

We recently came here for a date night while Drunk Dracula was the premiere. This was our second visit, as our first visit was about 2 years ago for actual Drunk Shakespeare featuring Macbeth. Surprisingly, a few of the actors were the same! We recognized their faces and mannerisms from last time, so it's great to see that the troupe stays together. BUY TICKETS VIA GROUPON! They are heavily discounted there and while the Groupon deal may limit you to certain showings, there are still plenty of options and they discount the tickets by up to 50% vs. the Drunk Shakespeare website. We selected the 5pm showing on a Saturday as this was the precursor to our dinner plan. Timing worked out perfectly, as the shows are about 1.5 hours in length. Immediately upon checking in and heading to the showroom, you are greeted with a complimentary shot of alcohol. I won't say no to that! Seating is divided into side stage, mezzanine, and balcony. The Emerald Theatre is quite small, so the three sections are exactly three rows in the showroom. Because of that, there is not a bad seat in the house and if there are vacancies, you just might be upgraded to a row ahead. We sat in the mezzanine and the couple in front of us bought the throne experience, so we were basically in the front row. I recommend coming early so that you can order drinks from the bar via the QR code at your seat. Although they do allow photo & video, you don't want to be that person perusing through the menu on your phone during showtime. Drink prices are a little bit steep at $15 for a 5 oz pour of wine and $30 for a 10 oz pour of wine. They no longer sell by the bottle because of some rambunctious attendees who got too lit and ruined it for the rest of us. Drunk Dracula itself was great! The actors put their own spin on the classic Dracula with alcohol involved and some Houston-specific references (e.g. Daikin Park). My partner even got a free beer during the show just because, and we were thoroughly entertained and laughing throughout the entire show. All of the actors are very friendly and interactive. Before the show, they are walking around making conversation with the audience. After the show, you are welcome to talk to them and get photos. This was certainly not our last time here. I know they are premiering Drunk Christmas Carol for the month, so we are planning to come back for that and for more Shakespeare productions with a twist!

Our first time here and it did not disappoint. These guys know how to entertain and make the audience feel like they are part of the show. ! We became instant fans

We went into this experience cautiously optimistic. While we are a bit of a nerdy bunch and a lover of the arts, we didn't know exactly what to expect. Needless to say, we had a great time I don't want to give away spoilers, but essentially you watch a loose adaptation of a Shakespearean master piece (in our case "Macbeth), while a member (or members) of the troupe get "drunk." You also have the opportunity to sit back and enjoy libations This isn't a full reading or memorized version of the play. While the cast does know all the lines, and they recite most of them, the experience is infused with mostly topical pop culture references, fun audience interactions, and it feels almost like an almost improv show. The show itself lasts roughly 90min, and there are multiple showings a night The cast are very kind, professional, and funny. Once you scan your ticket you are lead into a beautiful cozy theatre that encircles the floor/stage. Everyone is given a complimentary shot to start off the show, and from there you have a QR code at your seats to order more. The drinks are clever, but a little pricey I would very much recommend this to anyone. Even if you don't get the references and you aren't familiar with the Bard's work, it is still a good time Some tips: There is a Groupon deal for this that will save you about 50% off your ticket. For parking, there is a parking garage right next to the venue, and before (or afterwards) you should take in the nightlife of downtown Houston. There are many bars and food halls within walking distance Cheers!

This has quickly become a favorite date night for us! We've been 3 times this year (drunk dracula, drunk Shakespeare, and drunk Shakespeare year in review). We have had a blast each time! We've been the king/queen for the night, laughed so hard we cried, and just have a great time! The drinks are delicious and they are strong as well lol.

First time Drunk Shakespeare goer here... I had no idea what to expect going into this but I am so glad I went! Easily one of the funniest nights of my life. Just go. You will not be disappointed.

I am OBSESSED with this cast. I've seen them four times and I can't get enough. From the moment you walk in, they are already engaging with the crowd and while I wouldn't scare you off with the threat of audience participation, it is an intimate venue and they do a great job keeping the audience laughing (and Fuck Yeahing) by engaging individuals. I don't know how they do it in such a small space, but drink service is quick and doesn't interrupt the show. You'll definitely have time for two drinks before last call. I do think the show is more enjoyable if you already know the play (spoiler alert: It's always the same play), but you can follow along just fine if you're new to Shakespeare (or go back four times). Pro Tips: Go to Goldstar for the best price and buy Balcony. It's a small space so there are no bad seats and they'll upgrade you for free if the gallery isn't full. I'm not saying the royalty option isn't worth $500 online, but I am saying they will auction it off if it isn't sold and it always auctions for less than $500. Being royalty is so much fun and perfect for a first-date night.

It was an absolute blast. I really enjoyed it and recommend others to watch the show. Lots of laugh of entertainment.

You walk in through the red curtains with a greeting of a shot. Not a strong shot. The room is like a library benches and high banister all around the rectangular room. The start the show with an open bid to get the queen and king in the royalty seats. Audience bids and highest bid gets the seats and get to ring a bell, have. Nice bottle of champagne, about an $80 bottle and small appetizer and a couple privileges. The SHOW is hilarious and worth every penny. Look online for discount codes. You can get drinks there. Very tasty and average price maybe a little more expensive. We laughed and laughed. Great date night!!! We will go again! Idea of show: ONE ACTOR TAKES 4 plus shots and tries to stay on track with play. Other actors keep him in line too. It's improv so never know what to expect. Funny inserts and definitely not kid appropriate. If you have sensitive feelings probably don't want to go. Keep an open mind always. Act

Who will be Royalty for this production of Drunk Shakespeare?

Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble! A delightful evening of Drunk Shakespeare. Actors consume whiskey to make Macbeth's tragedy enjoyable to watch. Ticket prices may be on the pricier side if you're on a budget. Do yourself a favor and Lyft it to this theatre in the round located in Downtown, Htown off Travis St. as you will be consuming alcohol. Bar staff needs improvement as our drinks needed to be fetched. Some credit card mix up, but friendly service made up for it. Bravo to a new form of drunk entertainment. Every show is different, and the entire cast did a marvelous job. Here's to a successful run! Break a leg Houston cast!

A group of 4 of us visited last weekend for DL Hughley and purchased a "preferred section" table…read morethat was pricey but worth the experience as we sat right at the corner of the stage. Online you will see a ticket price and the fee, Google will tell you that if you go in person, you will not have to pay that fee but if you call, she will explain to you that the ticket price goes to the Comedian and the fee goes to the venue. We went to the 930 show that stated doors were at 9 PM. That's not really correct though because the exterior door opened around 9 PM but you're not able to go find seats l at that time and you're still in line. If you are in the beginning of the line at 9 PM, then you can wait inside the lobby, otherwise you have to wait outside which is kind of crazy. Luckily, we were in the beginning part that made it inside because one of our guests that arrived 10 minutes after the lobby opened is pregnant. She wouldn't have been able to stand in heels outside all that time and when she walked up to the line and told the older Caucasian man that her mom was in the lobby with the tickets he was adamant that she needed to go to the back of the line and wait. Very visibly pregnant she tried to re-explain that we purchased a preferred table and that we were already inside the lobby, and there was plenty of room for her and her husband to come stand with us -he still tried to stand in her way so she could not walk around the line saying " well if I let you then everyone will expect to be able to go ". This is why I had already spoken to the young gentleman that checked our tickets into the lobby and he said it would be fine for them to walk up when they arrived, so I told her to ignore the man and go ahead and come around, and she was able to walk right in. Right about 9:30 PM the doors into the theater area opened and it is first come first serve to the tables. Server took our order after a short while everything came out surprisingly quick. We had to send back the fried pickles as they were swimming in grease. I asked the server if he could just have the kitchen remake it as my prego daughter really wanted that however he said they would just come out the same way again. We tried to blot them with napkins, but as you can see in my photo that's just for me barely touching one of them and my fingers are covered in oil. Yuck! The southwest eggrolls were good just your standard run of the mill. Do not order an old-fashioned! They cut the rind instead of just using the peel, use a maraschino cherry instead luxardo ( which I can still settle for both ) BUT the basic 3 ingredient cocktail was wrong! Service was better in the beginning because we were seated before all those that had been in line- then it took a while. 18% grat included so they def need to step their game up The show itself was really good. It was with one opening Comedian and then the headliner so about 2ish hours. Very interactive the last 30 minutes and we were sitting right next to the stage! Definitely worth the extra money for preferred

Went to Houston Improv Comedy Club and had a really great time. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed,…read moreperfect for a night out if you want to laugh and unwind. The seating is comfortable with plenty of space so it never felt crowded or overwhelming. The food was surprisingly good for a comedy venue and the service stood out the most. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the night. The location is also a big plus since there are plenty of restaurants and things to do nearby, which makes it easy to turn your visit into a full evening out. Overall, this is a great spot to go with someone whether it is a date or just a night out with friends. I would definitely come back again.
