For those asking, cost is $45 for a regular blow out. Drybar is such an amazing concept for the working woman on the move. I truly think it's nice to just treat yourself every once in awhile, and every few months, I find a special occasion for someone else to do my hair. The set-up is great inside. Designed beautifully. They ask what you'd like to drink, champagne, mimosa, white wine, red wine, water, tea, etc. A very nice, simple touch that really ramps up the experience. They ask which style you'd like, then take you to wash your hair and get to blowing ya out and styling ya! I have been here about 4-5 times. My only gripes are two things: the stylists are always very rough when washing and brushing your hair. Everyone of them has been. I know it's on me to say something, but it's something I've noticed. Also, on my last experience, I noticed that the stylists were loudly gossiping/complaining about their previous customers in ear shot distance of me. A little unprofessional. Let me start off by saying the customer service was fantastic here - they helped me pick out the most appropriate style, offered me drinks, and even gave me an umbrella as I left since it was raining. This was my first time getting a blow out and I just dont think the experience was worth the money I paid. There was no real scalp massage when getting my hair washed and it just felt like it was taking forever - my stylist seemed to be moving at a much slower pace than others. I also advised them my hair doesn't hold curls well at all so I had low expectations but they assured me it should hold - well, it fell within 4 hours. So, for me, personally I wouldn't go back but I could see this being a nice treat if your hair holds well or you get a really great stylist. read more

After a coworker of mine expressed how much she loved this place, I had to give it a try! I walked in, and they had one more spot left. The whole experience was pleasant. My hairstylist, Marina, educated me on all of drybar's products. The experience was paired with rosé, a Julia Robert's movie and incredible interior design. I got a blend of the old fashioned and mai tai hair style and absolutely loved the finished product. I was really excited to have a blowout and scalp massage before a wedding, and my first night away from my one year-old. I had an appointment for 1:30 PM, and had waited till 2 PM and there was still no sign of someone coming to help me for my appointment. This business seems to have no care for other people schedules. This was my first experience getting a blow out and I was not expecting much due to my heavy hair weighing down any style I have tried. On my drive in I hit some traffic and called to let them know I may be a few minutes late. The girl that answered was so sweet and reassured me that I have a ten minute cushion that they can accommodate. Luckily I still arrived five minutes early. The decor inside was so chic. All of the verbiage is "bar" style like "Triple Sec" the three in one finishing spray. I had a seat and browsed the "menu" for my hairstyle. I was quickly greeted by my stylist who took me back to wash my hair. He was chatty and our conversation flowed easily. He then asked a few questions before I ordered my "Cosmo-Tai," a combination of their Cosmo (loose curls) and Mai-Tai (messy beach hair). I was offered a refreshment and was given a surprisingly good glass of Sauvignon Blanc. To be honest, he could have stopped after the blow dryer. I already had gorgeous volume and body. He then curled my hair a little tighter so that there was room for it to loosen up without losing too much curl. I have seriously been considering joining the dry bar membership program. One thing to note is that this is in the third Ward so parking is tight. I was able to snag a spot less than a block away but that was at 4:30 on a Thursday. Initially, I was very excited to try out dry bar. I came in for prom and was very disappointed and upset with the result of my hair. I essentially paid 60 dollars to get my hair blow dried straight and hair sprayed. I left the salon and went home and redid it myself since nobody could even tell I went and got my hair done in the first place. I literally had to rewash and start over bc my hair was stiff and I was unable to comb through the hair spray. I ended up having to rush to prom and hated my hair the whole night. Drybar was a new experience for me so I wasn't sure what to expect. Right away upon walking in the staff was friendly, the decor was contemporary, fun and fresh and I began by looking through the look book. The hairstyles to choose from were all super cute and I was a little confused even how such styles would be attained with just a blow dryer! The wash was relaxing with a mini scalp massage and great smelling products, which my stylist told me what and why she was using throughout the entire process. Because my hair is so thick, I thought it would take forever to dry and style my hair but didn't really take any longer than my friend. My hair looked great when she was finished! My stylist was really nice and explained to me how to maintain the curls for the next couple of days, and then walked me over to the wall of product to show me which ones she used on me to create the look. While the curls stayed in for my friend the next day, mine had not really so much (and I followed the instructions exactly before going to bed). As a huge fan of Drybar my friend and I were super excited to visit the MKE location. We heard so many great things about it. Including a comment from someone we met from their corporate about how this was one of their best locations! We came in on a Saturday -- which as we expected would be on the busier side. We expressed we were having some issues trying to book our blowouts on the app like we usually do at every other location we've been to. Not sure if there was some kind glitch that day. The app actually listed two appointments within 15 minutes of each other open but we couldn't complete our booking The bartender said there was a possibility of fitting us in but she wanted to make sure. She ran back and had a manager (maybe) come out to check for us. She checked her book and let us know that they wouldn't be able to fit us in and if we wanted to do a dry style. We replied with no as we were only visiting that day and preferred a shampoo. The person who came out to check and offered the dry style did not seem very hospitable. I definitely didn't feel welcomed in the shop nor did my friend. It was a bummer, although we knew it would be tight. We just wished the customer service from someone in a higher position in the shop would have been better. Connie's friendliness, professionalism and skill (omg that shampoo experience!!) will have you booking your next appt before you leave AND texting your girlfriends on the way out. Specifics: the shampoo was amazing. Truly. Perfect scalp and temple massage with just the right amount of pressure. She explained her shampoo choices and why they worked with my hair. She read my cues and let conversation pause while I relaxed, picking it up again - seamlessly - when we went back to the chair. The blowout was amazing and she NEVER tugged my hair which I've come to associate with a good blowout. She worked quickly and confidently while explaining various products, asking about my kids and helped me choose the best products for my teenager - all based on photos. Terrible place!!! I do NOT Recommend this place if you're trying to get a decent updo. On Saturday, September 4, my daughter got an updo that fell apart within 2 hours. A blow dry is $45 dollars and an updo $99 dollars. They charged me nearly $100 dollars for my niece's blow dry because they put a pin in her hair as they claimed it was an updo-- VERY DISHONEST!!! In addition, they made me process my card twice for the payment $270.00 as the owner claimed the machine usually glitches! She promised to return the funds as of today, three days later, I haven't seen a return for the duplicate charge. I went to them the next day on Sunday September 5th, and explained about the duplicate/double charge-- the manager said she couldn't do anything about it as it was a weekend and the banks weren't open! However, she continued to charge me for two updos that day but couldn't give me a refund! I am from Chicago area where most retail outlets refund your charges even on weekends! This place Is scam. The manager said she could disturb the owner as it was a weekend! However, she offered to give me $20s off each updo for Sunday, September 5th. However, again they weren't able to create an updo for my neice!!! And again,, they charged me for an updo, even though they weren't able to create one, because they said they had spent time trying to create one! Horrible place. They don't know how to do updos!!! Had we not come from out of town for a wedding with a tight time schedule and other places were not already booked for that Sunday we would never have gone back there the second day! This charge is because they take extra special care with them, however she pulled and was rougher on them then I am at home washing and drying my hair. I make appointments easily online, have someone wash and blow dry my hair and have a fabulous style when I leave. The shop has been maintained very well and is beautiful and clean. My favorite products are Liquid Glass, Detox, Prep Rally, Chaser, and Sparkling Soda! My fave add on services are an extra scalp with the mudslide mask.....super relaxing and great for your hair. First of all, my stylist was lovely and skilled, which is where any of my stars come from. Unfortunately, her 5 stars is heavily counter-weighted by the poor products she has to work with. I'm not sure what the drybar "fuss" is all about and have been frustrated by their underperforming, overpriced, over-scented products for years. The classic hairdryer and roundbrush are a winning set, IMO, albeit overpriced. The larger blowout styler is nothing but frustrating, with its on/off settings twisting at the base of a slippery handle with a super hot top. Talk about frustrating to use. Even worse is that other brands have copied this lousy design! ‍ ok, so I had an event last weekend and decided to give another try - scheduled a blowout and had a quick, skilled, and lovely stylist at the Buffalo St. location. She is awesome. The problem is, the products only added static to my hair. No hold. I ordered up the Southern Belle, which is big big hair, and it was big for about 2 minutes. Even upon leaving, there was no evidence of the "red-level" air-quality amount of hairspray she sprayed all over my style - absolutely no hold - just a fog of musky, powdery scent . Within an hour, my hair was staticky and flat. Worse yet, I was out $100 for this sun-par service. Again, not the stylist's fault in the least. I'm so glad to have discovered the true wonders of Drybar Milwaukee! I had a fabulous time there. It's a chic atmosphere that truly treats guests to an hour or two of luxury when they stop in -- all for fairly reasonable prices. They offer a variety of drinks to customers (alcoholic and non alcoholic), give a lengthy salon wash, and get to styling! While you get your blow dry and style (seems like they can do any do you ask for), you're able to sit and relax and watch tv -- I enjoyed queer eye while I was pampered. They use a lot of product, which normally I don't like, however none of it seemed to change the texture of my hair negatively and all of it smells amazing. There's nothing worse than stiff, crunchy hair. My hairdresser was great at explaining what she was using in my hair and really asking what I wanted before just applying. My style has lasted a few days and still looks fresh and clean. All of the staff members were super friendly and sweet and I felt comfortable there -- they also didn't talk my ear off, which I really loved. :) For a long time before going to drybar I didn't understand the point -- when you spend money on a haircut you usually get a great blowout that lasts days too. However, if I go in for a haircut it might be double the price of a drybar treatment. This place is perfect for when you need a style done for any sort of event (or not!) and just want it to last for days. The space is absolutely beautiful; both classy and playful with beautiful decor and pops of yellow. The stylists explain all the products they are using and what they do which is always helpful and appreciated. And all of the products smell amazing!! The Triple Sec dry shampoo - incredible! And the Southern Belle line is really just lovely. My stylist, Carlos, was so sweet and so much fun. He made the experience even that much more enjoyable. They offer membership packages that include 2 blowouts a month plus discounts on products. They roll over to the next month if you don't use them AND they can be used at any other Drybar which is awesome if you're traveling for work or weddings. I think this was such a cool addition to the Third Ward. The owner was also there at the time and she was truly the sweetest woman and helpful in explaining everything. I can't believe I haven't written a review about the Dry Bar yet! Not sure what I was waiting for, but it's definitely a great experience all around. I've been a handful of times and every time I've been, I've felt pampered and most importantly, my hair always looks fab! If you're not following them on Instagram, you really should because they post model specials for certain days and they're definitely worth it! I was recently there and felt very safe, so if you're looking for a safe place to treat yourself, check Dry Bar out! Now that they have Sunday hours, you should definitely take advantage of the free parking in the third ward, but of course any other day is just as good! read more

I went to Dry Bar to get my hair done for my engagement pictures. Because of a weird confluence of events the pictures ended up getting cancelled, and I am so glad they did. Within an hour of my hair being done, it had completely fallen apart. I have thin hair, but it holds a curl pretty well (I do it myself regularly). The curls they did fell completely and my hair ended up being stringy and looking greasy. When my fiance saw me, he actually asked whether or not I ended up getting my hair done, since he said it looked worse than when I'd left the house that morning. My hair was in a ponytail the rest of the night. I got a survey the next day where I explained what happened, and they offered me a free upgrade on another blowout. I assumed that they meant that the blowout would be complimentary and the upgrade would be as well. When I clarified, they said nope - I'd have to pay for the blowout, and just the upgrade would be complimentary. Well, there was no chance that I was going to risk paying another $55 since the first time was such a disaster. I'd rather just go see my normal stylist at that rate. (As a side note, I did rate everything other than my hair as 5/5, but when your hair ends up a disaster at a hair salon, all other factors are pretty much irrelevant.) Moral of the story - make sure you ask if your stylist is familiar with your hair type. Mine clearly didn't know how to handle thinner hair, and the result was pretty abysmal. Very disappointed with this Drybar location I actually would not even give it a 1 star. The manager charged me a ridiculous amount of money for the services my daughter and I received. I went in for a blow out but chnged the appointment to just have the stylist put my hair in a ponytail. The stylist did not wash my hair and all she did was curl the ponytail ends and pin the hair. The manager labeled it as an updo and charged me $99.00! Since when is an updo ponytail $99.00 with not even washing my hair??? I walked out of salon and 15 minutes later the so called "updo" fell out. It was a ponytail that anyone could do....it had only 2 pins! That is not what I call an up do! My daughter was charged $55.00 for a dry style. She told the stylist that her hair does not hold a curl and needed hair spray when curled. The stylist did not listen to her. All the stylist did was curl her hair and did not put any hair spray on which her hair also fell out 15 minutes later. My daughter had to curl and style her hair all over again. I went to this salon last Saturday and I waited to write this review because I needed some time to decompress from how terrible my experience was. I made an appointment with my sister since we wanted our hair done for a wedding we were both standing up in. We both got dry styles and wanted basic curls with our bangs pinned back out of our face. Apparently they can't just pin your hair back slightly without charging for an updo so we decided to do the "braid" option. Terrible idea. The girl who curled my hair didn't use any hairspray - how are curls supposed to hold if no hairspray is used? At least the girl who did my sisters hair used some hairspray. Next the braids were GOD AWFUL. It looked like a 5 year old took random chunks of my hair and put them together in what looked like a sorry excuse for a braid. My sisters braids were also awful. Not sure how the stylists looked at our hair and were like "yes this looks good, I'm satisfied with my work." We went to check out and there was a girl in front of us who had just gotten a blowout (she was in the chair next to us). It looked like her hair was literally still wet so i felt bad for her - again horrible work done. Do all the stylists here do a horrible job? Where are these good reviews coming from? The best was when we checked out, the woman (who I assume was the manager based on these past reviews I've read) had the audacity to say to us "wow, both of your hair looks so beautiful" LOL HOW FAKE. I was embarrassed at how awful our hair looked and just wanted to get out of there ASAP so I could go to a different salon to get my hair done by people that actually know what they're doing! (Which I did do - thank God.) I got to a different salon and walked in and the workers LITERALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD at how horrible my hair looked. It was a running joke in the salon that morning at how horrible DryBar is. Multiple people commented how they were so sorry and they would fix it and lucky for me they were able to. Anyway moral of the story is this place sucks. They may have some good stylists but most from what I could tell were god awful. I've been here so many times, that I've lost count - and every experience was great. Mega-relaxing and I love the Drybar product line! I enjoy stopping in as a treat to myself, but I've saved so much time and worry just popping in to Drybar for my hair before a special night out. I booked appointments for my daughter and myself for her First Communion and both hairstyles were great. My daughter looked age-appropriate and my hair stayed in place on a windy day.
