The minute I walked in, I was greeted by the woman at the front desk. She was so friendly and welcoming from the start. Checking in was quick and easy, and she was happy to answer all my questions about the different menu options. I've never been to a Drybar, so I had no idea what to expect! One thing I loved was complimentary menu. I was offered coffee, water, and even several cocktail options as soon as I arrived. I treated myself to a mimosa, because why not?! They also have an add-on menu with extras that really enhance your experience. I went and added the scalp massage because who doesn't want a little extra relaxation? It was definitely worth it for the $15. The salon itself is stunning. Everything is spotless and stylish. They have you choose your style of blowout from a book of options. I went with the beach curl vibe, since I can never nail it myself. My stylist did a phenomenal job. I left with hair that looked and felt absolutely gorgeous! I have given this establishment 3-4 chances , purchased the Bar Fly Membership and was very disappointed , I popped in for a pick me up visit with no appointment and at first was told no one was available but it clearly stated walk ins are welcome , finally a young lady greeted me an said she would take me , so I was very happy , big disappointment I have long hair , thick etc, my hair was still wet and so frizzy but to her it was done , I said to myself ok I won't say anything it's my first time. The second appointment I set up I got Amber , Amber is a doll , very caring loving and give advice as to what would work with my type of hair , she did an excellent job, I scheduled my next appointment with Amber and on the day of the appointment I get a text message like 1/2 hour before my appointment letting me know my appointment was moved to a later time which I was fine with but cmon a 1/2 hour before but if you have to cancel an appointment with them it has to be 24 hours before or you get charged. I get there for my appointment and I get told someone else is going to do my hair because Amber was assigned to someone else when I stated very clearly to the young lady at the front desk that if my appointment was not with who I scheduled I would reschedule , but I guess they knew they were in the wrong and Amber did my hair beautiful as always. Now I make my next appointment and this time I was told that Amber was no longer there so since I had the Barfly membership I decided to schedule and give it a try once more , so when I get there I was assigned to Alex , Alex was great and understood my hair love her , At this point I was second guessing my membership because I had more bad experiences than good , mind you this was back in November 2025. So I decided to cancel but schedule my last two appointments that were already paid for. I had an appointment scheduled 12/19/25 with Alex and once again I was not notified that Alex wasn't there but scheduled with someone else when I got there and the worse of it was the young lady that did my hair didn't even know who Alex was and said that no one by that name worked there. I scheduled two appointment with Alex one for tomorrow 1/22/26 and 2/12/26 with Alex , so today I get a call letting me know that Alex would not be there tomorrow because that she is a freelance hair stylist now and it's on need be basis , please help me understand if my appointment was already scheduled back in November 2025 would this not be set in stone , I give up I tried to give this establishment business but their inconsistency and lack of communication is not where I would like to spend my money. I recently went to Drybar as a walk-in, and while the stylist was sweet and did a great job on my hair, the handling of payment and excessive follow up left me feeling uneasy -- especially when it came to how they handled my credit card information. When I arrived, no one asked for my name -- they just asked for my credit card. I assumed this was to locate my existing account, but I was told I was "new." After a brief and confusing conversation (including a comment about extensions I don't have), I realized they had mistaken me for another client. What concerned me most was that they had already entered my credit card into someone else's account. That's a serious breach of basic protocol. After I clarified my name and phone number, they discovered I did in fact have an existing account (as I had initially said). They then removed my card from the other profile and entered it under mine. At this point, I had handed over my credit card twice, and the lack of basic verification (like checking the name on the card against the account) was troubling. Shortly after leaving, I received a voicemail from the salon about a payment issue (apparently entered in something incorrectly). I was driving and intended to call back once I got home. But within minutes, I received another phone call which would be followed with more and another voicemail, despite having explained I was on the road and would call back once I was all settled in. I live 30 minutes away and had to pick up my husband and child, but I still called back and paid -- less than two hours after their initial message. That marked the THIRD time I had to give my card that day. I understand wanting to resolve a payment issue quickly, but the repeated follow-ups especially after their internal mistake just felt really excessive and a bit aggressive. Bottom line: the service from the stylist was great, but the way my financial information was handled along with all the follow-up was not. If Drybar is going to store credit cards, they need to do so with much more care and professionalism when making a mistake. read more

First of all, I don't like unmitigated upselling, which I got right off the bat when I called to make an appointment. It was my granddaughters 4th birthday. We arrived on time, and waited for almost 15 minutes before anyone assisted us. There were 4 employees there and one client, who left shortly after we arrived. But, OK When I called to make our appointments, the woman speaking for Drybar went to great lengths to emphasize that the wash and dry service usually takes 45 minutes but could run up to an hour at no extra costs. Fair enough. The hair wash was a meager effort, to say the least, but OK. My blow dry took about 10 minutes before my stylist put the blowdryer away and said she would leave it damp "to keep it from frizzing". Frizzing? It was more than damp, it was still wet! By this time, I was just thinking what kind of racquet is this place? At least my granddaughter enjoyed it, as her stylist did a few spiral curls in her hair. Price was $39 for her, which was fine, she was happy and it was her birthday, but mine at $59. They had already taken my credit card number when I called to make the reservation, so I didn't fight it. However, never again! read more

My sister and I had the best experience here! We got blow outs as part of my birthday celebration and we were so glad we did! We were warmly greeted at the welcome desk and offered complimentary beverages! I had the grapefruit mimosa which was refreshing and delicious! They seated us next to each other which was fun and my seat even had birthday decorations! It was very relaxing to have my hair washed and a scalp massage was even included. I chose the straight up hair style and my sister chose the cosmo! We are both very happy with how our styles turned out! Our stylist Amya and Belle were friendly throughout the blow dry experience! I visited this place a few weeks ago. I recently moved to Norfolk so I was looking for a place to get my hair done. All I wanted was a blow out. I come from Maryland and have been to the now closed Annapolis location as well as the towson. When I went to these locations I paid the standard price for a blow out and had great experiences. I am biracial and have very curly hair that goes about two inches past my shoulders when straight, but have had no issues in the past at the prior locations. When I went to check out the lady informed me that today I wouldn't be charged the extended time fee but in the future since my hair takes longer than 45 minutes to be done the fee will need to be added on. I would understand if I needed something extra to be done then to have fees added on but since I'm getting a basic blow out service, that I have received before at other locations, I do not think I should be charged because the stylists take a longer time doing ethnic hair. If the workers at this location aren't comfortable with ethnic hair then that's okay but I shouldn't be punished because of stylists inexperience. I know that this service can be down within the time frame since I have had it done before at the other locations. My stylist was very nice but the way she was brushing my hair was as if she was scared of it and going slow while brushing it. I appreciate the delicacy but that causes extra time being added on. Now maybe I would have a different take on this if this had been my first time with dry bar but since I have been to two other locations without issue, I think the standard should be carried out throughout the franchise and throughout all customers regardless of ethnicity. Overall, everyone was very nice and my stylist took great care of me but I wish to not be punished because of my hair type and or being assigned a stylist who is not well versed in all hair types. read more

I come here every now and then for special occasions and it never disappoints. I love that they have options for membership but unfortunately I live out of state and visit seldomly. If I lived closer I think I'd definitely take advantage of the membership/loyalty program. Booking online is always super easy and I have never been disappointed in the results. rating 1 star because i had the most awful, unprofessional phone call with this location. i'm currently 7 months pregnant and am about to go on a trip. i have super long hair that takes me forever to dry and style and i just wanted to go to dry bar to have it done for me as i get super winded from it. i had already washed my hair before i thought that i should go and have it done, so i called and said i'd pay for a full price appointment if they could just blow dry/ style my freshly washed wet hair. the lady on the other end of the phone was extremely rude and had an awful tone, and ended up putting me on hold for about thirty seconds. when she came back she told me they "have no availability for the rest of today" even though i'm on the booking page of their website right now and there's a slot for 15 minutes from now. i told her that there's a slot on the website and she just told me to have a nice day and hung up. read more

I am happy to say that each time I've gone to Drybar, I've had an amazing experience. I remember the first time I went here, it was the first time I had ever gotten a blowout in my life. I didn't even really know what to expect and I was nervous. How lucky was I that everyone in the shop was super nice and patient with me as we figure out what my hair needed to make it a fun time. After the second time I went here, I ended up getting a barfly membership and have been making good use of it. Two blowouts a month have been perfect for the photoshoots I've been doing and making sure my hair is photo ready is all thanks to Drybar. I'm happy with my membership and everyone on staff. The products have been amazing on my hair and I always feel like a superstar after a blowout. Can't wait to keep coming back for more. read more

I had a great experience at Dry Bar. It was my first time going and I just needed some nice big loose curls for my holiday party so I feel I was a pretty easy client. They took me 20 mins early which was awesome! My curls looked really nice and exactly what I wanted. I wish I remembered my stylists name but she was sweet. Pricing was fair too but little disappointed I couldn't pay in cash. Only tip in cash but I needed change and they didn't have any.. If you have any type of texture to your hair, I would not recommend going here. Me and my cousin decided to fry this place out after seeing how beautiful a blowout from drybar could be. We were very excited and had high expectations. We even added on a scalp scrub for an extra 15 dollars and we felt it was not worth the money for an extra 1-2 minutes of scalp massaging. The stylist who did my hair was nice, but I felt by blowout was rushed. I have thick but short hair with a little texture and I felt the stylist was not experienced enough to handle my hair. To cut it short, my blowout was poofy, frizzy, and ultimately didn't look styled. I was extremely disappointed to walk out the salon with my hair looking worse than when I walked in. I'm a US Navy disabled veteran with cancer in several places on my body. My stylist was very talented and provided excellent service. This location's manager openly discriminates against veterans. I paid for my subscription $90 and made the second appointment at their front desk. First, I was charged twice. Second, the manager called and openly stated she is canceling my subscription first no reason other than she's canceling it. In Virginia under Title 2.2 Chapter 39 it is explicitly prohibited to discriminate: B. It is the policy of the Commonwealth to: 1. It is my sister's baby shower. I flew in from Atlanta. We had apts at 7:00am. We parked in the parking garage at town center and my VERY pregnant sister walked from there over getting dropped off(lower back has been hurting and wanted to move her legs). Was told we arrived at 7:11am. No one was up front, no one in the salon getting their hair done. We were told that they have a 9min grace period and we would have to reschedule, have our hair washed and blow dried but NOT styled, styles only(dirty) or cancel for $25 per apt. None of us were aware of this very specific policy or would have dropped her off. We tried to see if I cancelled my apt and had my apt focus on her if she could still have her hair done. No. We expressed what had occurred hoping the woman would understand how important this day is for my sister and her current state. Nope. Held firm to a policy that was not expressed upon booking, also never received a courtesy phone call within the 9min. All this over 2mins. I suggest only going to local salons over corporate seeing the woman was not open to working with us. Lost a few customers forever today. read more

Upon checking-in I was greeted with a big smile and friendly customer service and a choice of beverage, I chose champagne. We started at the chair for a quick consult, picked my blowout style (Love the Cosmo), and then headed to the bowl for a relaxing wash. What a mess! My daughter had a 2:45 appointment, we didn't walk out until 4:35pm. Just a blow out with two braids. The stylist was overwhelmed and said they won't have enough time for updos, which we didn't schedule anyway. We were told they would need to switch off stylist in halfway. My first experience with a stylist at this location was not ideal. I wrote a review to recount my experience, I was not expecting someone to reach out at all. A few days after I posted the review I received a call from Sarah L. She called to talk about my experience and to gain some insight on what happened. She listened thoroughly and did not try to make excuses for the previous stylist. She assured me that the stylist would get additional training to help her to service future clients. Sarah asked if I would be willing to come back in and have her do my hair for no cost. I came back the following Saturday and everything was drastically different from start to finish. She took her time washing, blow drying, and styling my hair. Sarah made sure that the experience was top tier. I wish it would have been that way the first time but I understand there is a learning curve for everyone. We talked about the changes they would be making going forward and the additional training. Sarah let me know she would be more than happy to do my hair whenever I booked an appointment. I really appreciated her professionalism and kindness. The initial stylist I had was very nice, unfortunately she was overwhelmed and under trained. I feel reassured that due to extra training she will eventually be able to service all clients. Went in today and had the most amazing experience. I have been loyal to drybar tysons for years and was happy to see a franchise open up in Hampton roads. The entire staff was so friendly from the booking process until I left. Frederick did an amazing job with my hair and he was so kind and charismatic. Having natural hair I have a lot of anxiety about getting it done because it is very thick and dense and in the past I've had stylists complain about it. He made me feel very comfortable and took the time needed to get my hair straight. The shop educator even stepped in and helped straighten some sections. I will absolutely be back to this location and I plan to recommend it widely. **today the weather was awful and I really appreciated the complimentary umbrella as I forgot mine at home. Oh my god I love this place. First of all, 55$ for a beautiful professional wash and blow out is a flippin steal. The whole salon is gorgeous and in a nice convenient spot in town center next to the parking garage. The staff is 10/10. Everyone was friendly and made sure I was comfortable.
