Took my cat here to be shaved and bathed, $110 for reference my parents take their 4 dogs, 3 being poodles and pay under $300 at a different groomer. I get it cats are finicky but that price is crazy. His cut is also uneven. 2 stars because his matting is gone and he smells good but we won't be back. read more

It's hard to find a place that grooms cats. Our family cat is 20 years old (!) and had some large mats on his fur because it is difficult for him to groom himself. The groomer was very gentle with our old man and insisted that I stay there during the grooming for his comfort. She could have charged extra by asking if I wanted to bathe him as well, but she recommended not to do that as to not aggravate the cat even more. The only reason this is 4 stores and not 5 is because the place is a little dirty and because I didn't see any evidence of the supplies having been sterilized. However, they are still moving into their new location. Their team definitely is experienced and knows how to handle pets. read more

I can only speak to the self groom vending machine. NO WAY could I wash my 49 pound dog in 12 minutes and clean the tub as directed, so expect to spend at least $20. I don't think I could've even done my 15 pounder without feeling really rushed! Not if it's wanted her really clean and inspected. Bring your own soap, use the rinse option only, and call Dee if it's still coming out cold after two minutes like it did for me. Be sure there are towels and an apron if you need one. There is no table to place any of your own things so that can be inconvenient. The water runs out in a trickle if you set it to use any of their soaps or the disinfectant. The only time it flows well is on rinse. They don't tell you that you are expected to use the last couple minutes to disinfect and clean the tub. You can't pause the machine so if your dog sheds like mine does . . . I ended up giving it a quick disinfect, then ran the rinse, then used the towel when I was done to get any remaining hair. I'll go back if I have to during the winter, but hope I can find a place to wash him for $30 or $40. Worth it. read more

NO, NO, NO!!! Do not come to this place!!! My regular groomer was on vacation so I had to take my dog to a new place. I showed a picture of what I wanted to my groomer. She even took a photo of the picture to make sure she does the same haircut. First of all, they took 5 hours to groom a 17 pound dog (a mini goldendoodle puppy). Second, when I came to pick him up, he looked nothing like the picture! I thought " oh well, it doesn't look good but it's just hair, it will grow back" When I took him back home, I noticed two spots where he was cut because he kept licking them and it never happened before. I thought " ok, maybe he was just very stressed and moved a lot while she groomed him.. I guess it could happen". Later that evening he started scooting all over the carpet and the grass outside. He started to be in so much pain to the point where he would only walk for 3 seconds and then sit right down and start licking his butt. He couldn't walk normally! That night he was in so much pain that I had to take him to the vet the next morning. While waiting in line, I called the grooming place, asking them what they did to my dog's butt that he is in a lot of pain and can only sit and scoot. They said they did an anal gland expression on him and that they do it on all the dogs unless you tell them not to do it and that they are always careful when they do it. The vet said that that whoever did it, did a very bad job, because they only expressed one gland and left the other one like that, so there was a lot on inflammation going on and that is why my dog was in so much pain. The vet took care of the other gland and prescribed anti-inflammatory pills. God, how can just one groomer do so many things?? I wish I remembered her name, because I would have definitely write it down here!!! I am never coming back to this place again! Belive it or not we have been bringing our pets here before we ever lived in Bloomington. Seriously though, I'm talking, when we lived on the east coast! How? Why? You ask lol. Well before we ever made Indiana our home we spent a lot of time here visiting family. Many times our dog was in need of a good cut so we started to look around the area for somewhere to bring him. Interestingly enough, our first visit was just because we desperately looking to get his flea/tick meds. We didn't realize we had missed his treatment before our trip and since he was running around in unfamiliar woods we really didn't want to take a chance. After searching online, and going to countless local pet stores it seemed like we had to buy at least 6 months worth in order to get him one dose. (Not cheap) Knowing I had probably close to a years worth at home I was not very eager to do that. That's when I stepped in to D's shop. I could have kissed them! They sold single doses of the treatments I needed! After learning that I got to talking with them and about everything else they offered. They were so nice and helpful, I knew we had found our go to groomer while visiting. Our dog has probably been there just as many times since we finally moved here that he did when we were visiting! They are so sweet and kind to my baby and I always feel like he is in good hands. You don't feel like it's an assembly line or that he's being rushed through. They will even stay late to make sure everything is done! He actually loves going there and shows no signs of being uncomfortable when they take him back to be pampered and I walk the other way! He always comes out fresh and handsome :) Their prices are very reasonable too! That along with their friendly staff and proven skills has made them our go to groomer. If anyone is ever looking for somewhere to take their pets, this is who I always recommend! read more

I have been coming to Ds since I've moved here in January of 2017. The staff at this location are amazingly friendly and will help you out as much as they can. I have a Yorky and every time I have taken him here he comes out looking amazing. The first time I took Luke here I asked for a mohawk and he came back looking Rad! (Unfortunately I don't have a picture). I just took Luke here Friday 4/6/18 and got a before and after phone. My god the difference is amazing plus he smells amazing for a couple days after. My boy is 13 years old and I feel he is treated like a king. He's very calm when I bring him here and does have anxiety. Best of all for a small business they are always offering some type of discount when I come in. read more

I go there to use the self wash, it's super convenient, and has options for shampoo and conditioner. Their pet candles are also pretty nice. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for an employee to come out from the back, but they're always nice if in a hurry. read more

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience when I took my pair of yorkies here a month back. The woman cleaning the dog was not polite, she told me that I would have to wait till 2 or 3 in the afternoon even though I had a 10am appointment, so I came back at 3. The prices are more than other places, and the quality was just so-so. I think Petsmart does a better job. The issue that I really had though, was that when I was paying the groomer came to the front and started yelling at the receptionist! It was completely unprofessional, I will not be back. read more

This place is too cute! They have very friendly staff that you can tell are dedicated to what they do. I have nothing but glowing praise for them! After I moved back to California, they contacted me to check on me and my dog and make sure that our last visit went well because they hadn't seen us in a while and then offered us $5 off our next grooming. I brought my Lhasa Apso in here three weeks ago for a bath/cut/toenail trim. I had an 8 am appointment, but I didn't get her back until 3. When I got her back the haircut was not what I wanted. My dog gets very hot during the summer, so I asked for a lot of hair to be taken off. Instead they decided to only take a little bit off, because they liked her better with long hair. I told the groomer to re-cut her hair, but she told me that she couldn't because she was too close to closing time and still had some dogs to do. I told the receptionist that I wouldn't be paying unless they finished cutting her hair, so she told me to come back in the next morning. I came back in the next morning at 8 am sharp and they said I could pick her up at 2. I feel that it was a bit ridiculous for them to take 6 hours just to finish cutting my dog's hair and nails. I came back and they totally over charged me. When I got home I noticed that there was blood where my dog was sitting. I looked her paws and two of them were bleeding like crazy. They had cut my dog's nail too short and didn't even bother telling me. To sum it all up. I will not be coming here ever again. I had terrible service and my dog was was in pain for two days after her nails were cut. read more

We had a terrible surprise on a Saturday morning when we awoke to our large, long-haired cat with an upset tummy and a mess in his fur (to be general and not gross anyone out). We washed him off in our laundry sink, but could tell that we needed a pro to make him smell and feel totally clean. We called around, but few places groom cats and no one had availability right away. Finally, we came across D's and she graciously squeezed us in to her already busy day. We left our cat with her for a few hours and she called us when he was squeaky clean and ready for us. He looks great and smells even better! She even trimmed his nails and got a pesky mat out of his fur, which we'd been struggling with... and, somehow, she managed to do it without getting scratched up: she's a pro! Never thought we'd have to take a cat to be groomed, but now we know where to take our cat and dog to be gently bathed :-) Thanks Dorothy! read more

This is our second time taking our pup to D's. They are nice enough, and don't mistreat the animals or anything, but both times I took our Shih Poo in, their promised finish time vs actual finish time was WAAY off, and this time they just simply did a bad job on the cut to boot - which I'm sure is because whomever groomed him did a rush job to get done by their closing time. The first time I was told he would be finished within two hours - it took four. This time I was told four and it took six. Neither time did they communicate - I was told they'd call when he was done, and when more than a half hour past the promised time had passed, I had to call to find out what was up; both times I was told it would be a couple more hours. This makes trying to plan anything the day of the groom next to impossible. I have pics below: one pic is our pup from another grooming company (which we love but wasn't available); it is the pic I gave D's Doggie Do's today as an example of what I wanted, and went over with the groomer when I dropped him off. The others are what she actually did. Nicks and uneven shaving all over his belly, the ears weren't bobbed like I asked for, and the muzzle was cut way too short - even after the groomer confirmed I wanted him rounded at the muzzle. Also, his nails are still sharp! I didn't complain at the store - but they are unreliable, and this time they did bad work. We were unhappy, and won't be taking our pup back. read more

I recently took my 12-year-old dog in to be groomed. I was very nervous, because he had never been to a groomer, and was reassured after our phone conversation. (I had been trimming his hair myself, but my clippers needed replaced.) I asked that he just be shaved fairly close, about a 1/2", and was told he would be done in a half an hour. I told her I would be waiting outside and if she had any problems to call me. I even said if he was just too anxious to cooperate, that I would understand, and I would replace my clippers and do it myself. When I picked him up, she was extremely aggravated and said he has fleas. I did find one, and she said she picked them off, so I am not disagreeing. However, he takes Sentinel on the 30th of every month. My dog has poor health, we regularly see the vet. We are very conscientious of his health as he ages, he takes two prescription allergy pills, one prescription pill for breathing trouble, and a liquid medication for his joints and two vitamins daily. I heard her yell at the receptionist/assistant to make sure I knew he had fleas. I later tried to explain and apologize, but she wouldn't listen. I'm fairly certain she thought I was lying, She just kept saying, "I don't know, but he has fleas!", and stormed away. She was so rude. Then I saw my dog... His head wasn't shaved at all, nor blended. And she forgot to cut the back of his front legs. I asked the receptionist/assistant if this was typical, and she went to ask. I told her not to worry, but she just asked me to wait. The groomer came back in, and hatefully asked, "what's wrong?". I explained my question, asking if she had trouble with him (thinking maybe he was whining or something). She didn't say a word, just grabbed the leash from me, and started toward the back. I grabbed it back and told her I would fix it myself. I don't know if he was difficult, she didn't say either way, which would have been nice to know. Or if it was because he had fleas. Regardless, I told her to call me if she had any problems, I was in my car in the parking lot, and I would come and get him. She was so angry and I don't know why. I am certain if she will openly be this rude and hateful to a customer, she will not treat our animals well when no one is looking. read more
