The service I received today was excellent. I hate that I didn't get the guy's name that came to pick my car up. He was very kind.

If I could give zero stars I would. On 2/13/2023, I drove my dad's 2001 Chevy Silverado to Target. I come out from work and the truck is GONE! I had security pull the footage and we see the tow truck from D's pull up, and snatch my daddy's truck in a matter of seconds. When I finally find the contact info, I called to inquire about why it was taken. All dispatch could say was "we got the wrong vehicle. she's bringing your truck back now." After waiting nearly an hour, the Driver pulls up on front of the store, parks and just sits there. I go out and she still sat there for another three or four minutes before "apologizing" Finally she lets the truck down and says "if you need anything let me know." Security told me to check the truck for valuables and sure enough, she had taken a knife from the door. It belonged to my dad who passed away on 2/6. It was in a personal holster wrapped in a blue microfiber towel pushed into another holster so there's absolutely no way it could have fallen out. Especially since the towel was on the floor near the driver seat. The driver was still in the parking lot so I flagged her down to ask for it back. She claimed she already had knives and pulled out three. Then said "you can look in my truck" I refused because, again, she was holding three knives. I didn't want to risk it. Before she left, we were able to capture a picture of the truck that mine was mistaken for. They're two TOTALLY different vehicles. My dad's truck is a forest green extended cab pick up. She picked up a mint green single cab pickup. All of this could have been avoided is she had VERIFIED the vehicle. She didn't check the tag OR the VIN. I'll attach pics. I called dispatch and told her that I didn't want to cause any trouble. I just wanted the driver to return the knife because it belonged to my deceased father. She said "I'm going to check her truck, but she could get rid of it before she gets back" then claimed she would call back. I never received that call. MPD was on the scene when she first brought the truck back and said if I wanted to file a complaint, I'd have to file it with D's. So first they stole my dad's truck and then she stole his knife. They're literally a company of CROOKS. ZERO OUT OF TEN WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ! read more

Several nights ago my son got stuck in our yard and we called D's. Terry came out in the rain and stormy weather and got his truck out! Fast forward to last night. My truck broke down in Memphis while driving home from work. I called D's Wrecker Service and they were there in about an hour to get me towed to the repair shop. Great service! My car would not go into neutral, and I had several towers tell me they will not be able to tow my vehicle, but D's wrecker came through. The spot I had to take my vehicle was a very tight spot and he was able to maneuver it. The driver was very nice, and I highly recommend this company. read more

I had my wheel lock up on me on I-240 S. The dispatcher said the tow would be 125 in Memphis. They are charging like they based out of state. Every tow service I have used would be between 65 -85. They charged my card before dropping off my card and then charged a $4 dollar processing fee. The lady never indicted I wasn't able to ride along with my car in the tow truck. I called her back and she never explained why the credit card processing fee then hung up. The driver was polite and fast but I wouldn't recommend unless in a crunch!! read more

They told us they would be here in 1.5 hours. We called after about 2 hours and said they were coming from collierville. An hour and fifteen minutes later we called again and they wouldn't answer the phone. Called from a different number and said they were 5 minutes down the road getting gas and never showed up or answered the phone again. They don't even deserve a rating. It seems I was the sucker that was born during my proverbial minute. I let myself get scammed by D's Wrecker driver, "Dawn" of $125. D's is a Pep Boys service partner. My car had a flat, but was in the airport parking deck, and D's was the 1st provider with a wheel hitch tow truck that would fit in the low clearance. Pep Boys TOLD me that the price of the tow would be included in my bill at the shop, but D's dispatcher(?) called while I was waiting, and said that "my motor club's credit card was rejected". I kept telling her I had no motor club and expected to pay for the tow thru the billing at the shop. She said they couldn't tow me unless this was settled, so I said I would pay the driver if she could accept cards. Settled, right? Wrong. Dawn, the savvy driver showed up and hooked up my car, but then asked that we go ahead and settle the tow charge. She supposedly attempted to run my AMEX several times to no avail. Hmm... curious, but she said it could be their system, and asked if I could pay in cash. SUCKER ALERT! I agreed. Paranoid, always warning others, but I agreed. Actually followed her to a close ATM and took out CASH, followed her the long scenic street route to a Pep Boys that wouldve been a short commute if we'd simply jumped on I-55, two blocks away, then forked over $175 + $10 tip. SUCKER!!! When I went back to Pep Boys today to pay for them putting on a new tire, the bill was $50 more than I was quoted. I asked and the clerk said that was for the tow.... $50. I pulled out my receipt for $175, which even showed I got a "discount" for paying in cash. The clerk took pity on me and removed the $50, but you KNOW the sign that was flashing on my head, right?? SUCKER!!!!!! I had even APOLOGIZED to Dawn, my ever so empathetic driver for having taken her so far out of the way in order to get the cash. So the conclusion is this -- should you EVER need a tow and find out that D's Wrecker Service is the only one available, just say NO. Life is hard enough without the strategic scheming of a company / driver (not sure if that was really the dispatcher) that would lie like this and cheat a paying customer with a bill over 3x the amount that was contracted to them by a national company. I pray Dawn finds redemption and personally learns how treatment like this makes a person feel. And I pray that she never gets a moment of joy or contentment out of any money she's taken by this method. Now, if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go see if I can get this SUCKER label off my forehead. Feels like it's sticking with duct tape. read more

I had an appointment for them to pick up my truck at a location where I would meet them. The appointment was for 3:30 but they didn't arrive until 4:25. The driver (Will) was friendly and the tow was perfect. Other than being very late for appointment they did a great job. read more

These people came to my wife job looking for a Mercedes. They broke into her car with a slim Jim and proceeded to tow her car. When my wife confronted the woman she cursed her out. Then tow driver called the police on my wife and said she pulled a gun on her. My wife has never owned or handled a gun. Then when the tow driver realized she had the wrong car she still proceeded to curse at my wife. This is a terrible company. If you're towing a car you should check the vin first or at least the tag you just don't assume that this is the correct car. I filed a complaint with the bbb and the police. A horrible and unprofessional towing company in the midsouth. No other company has a reputation or history of rudeness. Car was delivered and parked in the middle of the street without confirming drop off, even after giving instructions. Owner is also very dry and uneasy to work with. Entire staff all but one is customer friendly. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

We have been using D's for several years to do all our towing needs. They have towed our company vehicles, equipment and personal vehicles. We can not say enough about the level of confidence we have in their ability and the customer service is phenomenal!! I have had personal vehicles breakdown at night and on holidays out of town and was able to get a (real) person on the phone and have a truck to me in about the same time it would take for me to drive to them. Among the 10 or so wrecker companies I tried calling at about 8pm on a Friday night, D's Wrecker Service was the only one willing to come out and tow my 1987 Corvette to my house. A few others said they wouldn't touch a Corvette because of how low it was - but Will from D's did a great job of getting it on the bed of his truck without damaging anything.
