I had a very disappointing experience at the DSW Shoe Warehouse in Aventura while shopping for my daughter's graduation heels. My daughter was sitting in a different aisle trying on heels and had left the shoe box nearby. An employee approached her and said, "I'm assuming you lost the box to those heels." The way it was said strongly implied that my daughter was doing something wrong or potentially stealing, when she was clearly trying on heels. When I approached and joined the conversation, the employee immediately changed her tone and began explaining that many people steal from the store and that customers are required to bring the box with them when trying on shoes. Had she simply explained the store policy from the beginning, there would have been no issue. My daughter was embarrassed and offended by the assumption that was made about her. It felt like she was being profiled rather than assisted as a customer. After I addressed the situation, the employee quickly tried to downplay what she had said instead of acknowledging how her approach came across. I understand that retail employees have to be vigilant about theft, but there is a respectful and professional way to communicate store policies without making customers feel accused or uncomfortable. This employee could benefit from additional training on customer service and how to approach situations like this without making assumptions. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting shopping trip for my daughter's graduation turned into an upsetting experience. read more

Great store with so many options and great prices. I have bought shoes here for 10$ on sale from 60$. So that's a great sale with lots of discounts. The only downside - not so many kids shoe options. But they also have discounts both in the store and online, great return policy, as well. All the employees have always been very helpful and friendly, no issues here. read more

In a world I do most shopping online... I do find value in going on to try on shoes in person. Went in for some new running shoes because they carry a good number of brands and I was able to try on a good number of styles to make my choice. Download the app for all your discounts and to keep track of your points. The floor staff was great in checking in but we're not bothersome. This store also carries a good amount of widths (maybe the demographic here demands) but it was nice to have those options in store not just for order. Maybe I paid a little more in person than online but the value was still good and I don't have to deal with returns. read more

I have been lucky to always find what I need at DSW, even in a pinch! So while traveling in Miami, I realized I didn't bring sneakers. I found a perfect pair here - on sale with a further discount off the discounted price PLUS I used my birthday rewards! I was impressed on how this store is trying to maintain safety. Mask ate mandatory. They have lines guided people how to go. Social distancing s pacing is informed here. As you first enter the store. There is a very helpful worker. He educates and instructs on how to travel the stores. He also let's you know how and where you can get help if you need it. It was done in a really professional and friendly way. The store was stoked well. I found what I was looking for. They have beautiful shoes here and s good selection. I was also happy to see they now carry nail polish. That's a great idea. The staff was friendly and really nice. I had a good experience and I would probably be back. I am a big fan of DWS due to their huge variety of unique shoes and the great prices. I went here looking for a pair of shoes for a wedding this weekend and I found just what I was looking for and of coarse at an amazing price. It's hard to walk out of there with just one pair though. It seemed like they where a little short staffed today. There was a huge line at the checkout. There was maybe 15 people in line and only two employees at each register. The girls at the registers were extremely apologetic. I did wait about 25 minutes to get checked out. She greeted me and apologized for the wait. She asked if I found everything ok and I said yes but there was a mark on a pair of flats that I loved. Without hesitation she offered that she can order them for me and they would be delivered to my house or she can give me 15 percent off. Before she boxed up my shoes she made sure that the correct sizes where in each box. Overall I would go back to this DWS to look for some more great finds. read more

I've been into this DSW location a couple times before, and have been consistently disappointed with their selection. I don't know if I'm just coming at odd times of year when they don't really have the goods or what. But I used to be able to go into any DSW and find at least 2 pairs that I LOVED and could not live without. Alas, this has not been the case with this DSW. Unless you're looking in the clearance section, the shoes aren't that cheap. I've been to DSW a few times, most recently looking for a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors. They didn't have the ones I wanted in my size, but I ended up getting a slightly different style. I went to Champs looking for them too, but they didn't have my size, so I headed to DSW and ended up paying the same price as Champs for the shoes I ended up getting. I looked at some of their Croc sandals, and again the discount was missing, same price as what I would pay getting them at the Croc store. Maybe I've misunderstood their marketing, but I thought DSW was supposed to have deals on shoes compared to getting them directly from stores like Crocs, Steve Madden, or Betsey Johnson. I just didn't see that here. I think the only advantage is having several brands in one place, and with gas prices lately, I guess that's the discount. Their clearance section covers the back wall and although there are lots of shoes to choose from, the nicer ones looked damaged, and the other items in clearance are clearly there because no one on God's green Earth would ever wear shoes that ugly. If you're in the area, it might be worth it to browse clearance for that needle in a haystack find, otherwise, skip it and head elsewhere. read more

DSW is a shoe store, kinda like an outlet close-out type of place, and there are very good deals to be had, sometimes. Other times, you may spend 30 minutes looking for something, and may not find it. Its all about the hunt. After losing my one of my sandals was swallowed by a sink hole halfway through my trip to SFla, I needed to buy a new pair to get my through the week. I was contemplating buying new ones before we left, but decided not to because the ones I had were fine. My old ones did not have a strap on the heel and I wanted to buy sports sandals as that's basically all I wear in the summertime in Chicago. After going to Sports Authority and realizing they don't live up to their name, my wife suggested DSW. What a great shopping experience. They had such a great selection of sandals (and all other shoes for that matter) that it was hard to narrow it down to which ones I wanted to buy. I finally settled on a pair of nicer, but still sporty Merrel's for $50. I will definitely utilize DSW more often in the future. read more

I've also bed here a few times over the years, there's a Starbucks that's in the same structure with Old Navy so you get a lot of shopping done and stay hydrated :). I love this location! Much better than the one in Pembroke Pines. I was searching for sandals and I went to Bloomingdales and Macy's before I ended up here a finally found multiple pairs on sandals. I couldn't narrow it down to one pair! My only complaint is they need to stock less cold weather shoes in the fall and winter and keep a rotation of sandals all year. This is Florida! I love shopping here because I am that girl who loveeeeeeees shoes! I have one closet just for that! I think they have a great selection and the shoes are always very well organized. The line to pay can be pretty long, but they move quickly! If you know how to shop with coupons and deals you can end up with amazing shoes for a very low price! What I don't like about this location is that there are no kids shoes. I have to get my kids shoes online. They do have an amazing selection of socks!!! And purses. The DSW employees are always very nice and they are pleasant to be around. The parking for this location does suck a bit since it's a plaza with a Starbucks, Old Navy and Bed Bath and Beyond. So on the weekends is nearly impossible to find parking. I recommend going on a weekday when there isn't that much foot traffic and there are enough parking spaces. read more

So, last friday I was excited to take Ashely out for her Birthday, but of Course... new shoes were needed for the occasion so I swung by DSW and fell instantly in love with a pair of lemon yellow patent leather pumps! I was SO in love, that I went right ahead and bought them without a second thought EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE TOO SMALL FOR MY FEET! Ugh. Turns out, Miami flooded that night and I didn't get to wear them. SO, a week later I thought to myself, "Self, you gots to return those too small shoes!" I headed back to DSW. I didn't have the box anymore, but it didnt matter. The girl at the counter was SO super nice and helpful. She didnt give me any fuss what so ever (like you usually get when trying to return things). They didn't have my lemon yellows in my size still so I went for something else. A new love. Turquoise 4" wedges that I will wear to a new even this Sunday. The store does not carry good designer shoes like they used to. Sales associates are not friendly and don't even smile at you as they pass you. None of them even asked me if I needed some assistance. You have to wait a long time in line when you check out. No manager is visible to speed up check out counters. read more

Well I gave DSW and the store a second shot. Bought a lot of shoes online and in the store. I even became a "Premier Member" with the company. However new policy changed and I received a pair of Santoni Shoes that were not the size that I have ordered but a size smaller and do not fit me. (Was this anyway my fault?!) I explained it to the store manager on duty and she said it was ok to come by next time and use my rewards that I have spent on this purchase. When I came back to use these rewards they have told me that NOTHING can be done and I lost all of the points. This is totally unfair and I was not aware of this. I will be going elsewhere since I was led by the Management of the store. I gave them another shot and was happy for a while but this is just ridiculous. I am VERY UNSATISFIED and will let everyone know about this! At least Management should keep their word. My family and I buy thousands of dollars of shoes from them annual basis. read more
