Knowing Moj's management skills, I am sure whoever comes to replace her will be just as good as the other oral hygienists and will be trained appropriately. When I have needed treatment beyond basic cleaning, they've always explained the options to me, let me know what would be covered by insurance and what wouldn't. Additionally, they've let me know when I can anticipate a current condition training it is some thing more difficult, and that has allowed me to plan both financially and in terms of overall care. The dentist that repaired it (along with another consulting dentist) was appalled that it hadn't been crowned for protection. To add insult to injury, Dr Rostamian insisted the tooth had a crown on it. Dr. Rostamian is not shy about suggesting expensive restorative services but on one crown replacement didn't find the need to offer me my old gold crown. Also, this practice failed to suggest protecting my four front teeth (behind veneers) with a night guard as the dentin is now exposed. I wonder what else is in store for me after years of neglect.

Although Dr. Spathas was not within my insurance network, they explained that they have a very fair and moderate billing system, so I took a chance and scheduled a visit assuming that I would only need to pay a small premium for an out-of-network visit. It turns out that Dr. Spathas' billing is on par with my network, so my insurance paid 100%. This means that Dr. Spathas' billing practices are reasonable, and not inflated. More importantly, my experience at Dr. Spathas' office was nothing short of excellent. I received first class treatment from Dr. Spathas and his staff. The doctor was on time, and not rushed at all. He spent over an hour with me, discussing my needs, and paying close attention to my concerns. During subsequent visits, the doctor remembered me, and recited some of the issues that we discussed previously. I got the feeling that Dr. Spathas truly cares about the quality of patient care. So far, I have had 3 visits with Dr. Spathas, and I have been pleased with the service, the attention from the staff, and with the doctor's treatments. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Spathas to anyone looking for a new dentist. The doctor's office is always clean and quiet, and the doctor is gentle yet competent. Note: I hesitated to give this provider five stars. I saw him at the request of my dentist who said I needed a root canal. Barrett did a root canal and then a year later, when I was still having problems in the same area, he asked me back and said it was actually the tooth NEXT to the one he drilled and the one he drilled was now infected and would have to do BOTH teeth. Additionally, (b/c he felt badly, no doubt about having taken the wrong tooth in the first place) he asked if any other teeth bothered me and I said "yes; an old root canal in front... BUT DON'T TOUCH IT PLEASE." After he put me under he not only redid the first GOOD tooth he took and then the REAL problem tooth, but the front one as well AFTER I TOLD HIM NOT TO! He gave me WAY too much gas and I had a panic attack in the chair and couldn't get out of there soon enough. This man drilled into the wrong (healthy) tooth, charged me almost $1000 then drilled into the SICK tooth AND an old root canal AND CHARGED ME ANOTHER $1000!!! I was so traumatized for months after that I couldn't even work. Everyone I knew told me to sue him, but it's not my nature and I just couldn't muster the energy anyway after that HORRIFYING experience. There are SO many other endodontic choices, if you're reading this, please be careful with this provider. And get a copy of your x-rays to take home with you JUST IN CASE you end up with a similar problem. My teeth are irrevocably ruined -I've since been to see excellent dentists who say they can ONLY PARTIALLY fix the problem he caused, (discolored gums, severe pain in the original and surrounding areas and THREE INFECTED roots) but it would cost me in the $1000's of dollars and not only can I NOT afford it but I am scared witless of anesthesia and another procedure now. This man annihilated a perfectly good tooth and didn't bother to admit his mistake and went on to completely disregard my wishes to leave another tooth alone and left me, now, with THREE infected root canals WHILE TAKING MY MONEY!!! Root canals are dangerous and not to be taken lightly anyway because all body meridiens come back to certain teeth and their health can be indicators of other bodily issues. Removing teeth, ESPECIALLY unnecessarily so, leads to other health problems. I now have a horrible chronic disorder that is exacerbated by these infected root canals. He is a good listener and I felt comfortable telling him about how I react to anesthetics and he came up with alternative solutions. I had a complicated root canal that he made seem effortless. It was as gentle as those things can be. He gave me a rose after my appointment, which was totally sweet. But the very best part of his clinic is his dog, Rosie.
