Viviana was awesome with my 2.5 year old! My son never liked the dentist - would always cry before they even looked at his teeth! So this was the first time at atlas dental so I warned them and it turned out he was chillin' and talking to Viviana about the tv show he picked on the tv screen on the ceiling! Today I had my second cleaning at Atlas Dental. My hygienist is Courtney and boy, she's awesome. She has a very gentle touch and a peaceful overall demeanor which is great for somebody like me who has anxiety when I go to the dentist. the method used for cleaning at Atlas is very different from my old dentist's office...the old office did it all manually, so pressure and scraping. Courtney uses an ultrasonic scaler (i think that's what it's called) that is much gentler, and goes pretty fast...then she goes in at the end and finishes the old-fashioned way. Also, today while the procedure was taking place, a nature show was playing on the overhead TV and I got to learn about how tarantulas make babies. What could be better? Clean teeth, an education in spider procreation, and Courtney sent me home with a goody bag full of dental supplies. SCORE! read more

The best dental services, hands down. I suffer from Dental anxiety and they ease it. Besides accommodations like gas, they are calm and relaxed and explain everything with monitors for you to review your teeth with them. Originally I scheduled a cleaning for the end of the month. But after texting with the admin team (Kelsey), I was able to be seen earlier due to a cancellation. I'm really glad that they provided this as an option for me. My cleaning was done by the dental hygienist, Diane. She was a fantastic dental hygienist. When she grabbed me from the lobby, she was welcoming and kind. Before she started cleaning my teeth, she was talking about my previous x-rays that they received from the previous dental clinic I was at, checked my teeth, asked if I had any concerns, and I got started on the cleaning process. I feel like she did a really good job trying to get to know me more as a patient. She asked a few questions about myself, where I'm from, and relationships in my life. After multiple refillings and continued mouth issues that were concerning to me but ignored by my prior dentist, I switched to Atlas Dental and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hieu. I explained my concern to them and they immediately listened and investigated to see if there could be a possible infection (something simple that my prior dentist never bothered to do), it turns out that I was correct in my concern and there is a low level infection! I was actually brought to tears because of the relief and validation I felt. Empathy and intelligence both need to be present for competent care. Dr. Hieu provides this level of care. Even if it had turned out that I didn't have an infection, at least I would've been able to move forward with different hypotheses. Very grateful to find a dentist who cares enough to listen and is intelligent enough to thoroughly assess my oral health. I highly recommend giving this place a try, especially if you're like a lot of folks who've had difficult past dental experiences. They also have a heated massage Dental chair lol which to me is way less important than the level of care I receive from the dentist, but it's pretty luxurious and who doesn't need a little luxury every now and then? Amazing experience! I had a crown chip and my previous dentist would have had me come back over three weeks and two appointments. I called Atlas and they were able to see me the following day and do the whole crown in one visit! Dr. Hieu is an exceptional dentist and human. So kind, caring and good at his craft. Everyone in the office was wonderful. I love their modern equipment too. Plus, if you are still COVID-conscious, they have hepa filters in every room and well-fitting N95s upon request. Brought my daughter here for her first dental check up/cleaning and she had a great experience. She loved the tv on the ceiling, she got to watch despicable me and they let her sit on my lap the whole time. Diane, the hygienist was great. She let her pick the toothpaste flavor, "bubble gum" of course. X-rays were quick and popped up instantly on another wall mounted screen for us to see! The Dr. Hieu came in and addressed any concerns and reviewed what we need to be doing and then checked out her teeth! At the end, she got a Disney tooth brush that she was pumped about and a token to get something from the toy machine. As soon as we walked out the door she said "I want to do that again!! I like my dentist!" And that's about as great of an experience as you can ask for!!! Everyone was very friendly. The place is clean and they seem to have all the newest technology! Just finished my first cleaning & check-up at Atlas Dental. I couldn't be happier. The staff is kind, considerate, and friendly. My hygienist was very careful to explain what was happening and check in to make sure I was doing well throughout. My former dentist was great, but his hygenists had a tendency to guilt me about flossing. I'm neurodivergent and struggle with some sensory things, so flossing can often be a challenge. I mentioned this in my pre-visit paperwork at Atlas, and today's hygenist told me I was doing great--that some is better than none, and doing it whenever I can is a great approach. While I understand that 2x daily would be ideal, her understanding and harm reduction approach makes me far more comfortable returning for future check-ups, which will help in the long run. She also helped me think through some tools that might make the process easier for me, all without making me feel bad that I've struggled with this. The dentist showed me areas of concern through photos he took--including where my stress-grinding cracked a tooth. I really appreciated being able to see what he was talking about. It built trust and makes me feel confident in our care plan. Highly recommend! read more

In 1992 I experienced some severe trauma as I had work done on my teeth, and the anesthetic didn't take. I was encouraged and pressured to "hang in there" as two college students were trying to pass their exams. After a while one of the "approving professors" came along and noticed tears streaming down my face and asked me if I was okay - he quickly removed all of the gear and clamps that were pressed against my teeth and gums. Since then I have experienced severe anxiety whenever going to the dentist (even as something simple as a teeth cleaning sends me into anxiety), so finding the right dentist for me is (literally) more important than finding the right medical Doctor. I recently moved back home after 30 years and was now in search of a new dentist that I could trust...and it cannot just be anyone!! Cut to: Dr. Hieu at Atlas Dental... I cannot express (enough) the level of kindness, compassion and patience that Dr. Hieu and his crew exhibit. Upon my first consultation, I went in expressing the level of fear and trauma that I have with dentists, and they took me under their wing with such loving care and ease. I would have to admit that I put Dr. Hieu under a microscope as I would compare him to my previous dentist out of Los Angeles (who probably has 25 + more years of experience) and who was a season veteran of talent and of one in putting me at ease. Not only did Dr. Hieu exceed those expectations, he even did an amazing job in redoing some veneers of 15 years. At every mark, not only did I notice Dr. Hieu checked every box...but he started to exceed the boxes of his predecessor in L.A of 25yrs. At every step he made sure I was comfortable and happy with whatever work was being performed at the moment... as well as his assistant Gloria - Gloria is MY GIRL!! (Whatduup Gloria?!!) From the smallest corners of the back rooms to the largest corners of the front office of Kelsey and Kim, everything and everyone is pure perfection. You know you found your home when you miss your dentist and his office! I literally feel like I'm part of the family and (shockingly) I look forward to going to see them all - I don't know what's wrong with me - but I guess you can attest it to their perfection and professionalism. Was really looking for a great dentist that was close to home. Read up reviews and realized that this office was in covered with our insurance so we went with them. They're amazing with kids. We took our 1 year old there and she was able to sit in my lap and watch Cocomelon the the television screen that was on the ceiling and did great! They also literally was able to get me in on a whim last minute. I had a filling that cracked and they were booked out but were sweet enough to squeeze me in early morning for an exam and also to get the filling fixed and filled again! I had a horrible experience with my last dentist and coming here was like night and day. My first appointment was two weeks out but they managed to squeeze me in same-day! Through text message! As a phone-call-phobic millennial, I greatly appreciate their scheduling process. I also love that all the forms are digital so you can fill them out in advance. The whole process felt very easy and streamlined. The office itself felt clean and modern, as did all their equipment. The appointment was on time and everyone I talked to was super friendly and personable. The hygienist and dentist took their time with me, never making me feel rushed and making sure I had all my questions answered. They explained everything with perfect clarity. They even got me in for an unscheduled deep cleaning, and my hygienist went out of her way to make sure I felt comfortable the whole time. As someone who has a LOT of dental anxiety (exacerbated by my recent experiences), they put me at ease the whole time. I came into Atlas for the first time during Covid. The receptionist was very kind, she checked me in, took my temp, explained what kind of covid precautions were in place and asked if I had any covid related symptoms. Due to covid, they weren't able to use the water spraying device during my cleaning, which made me very paranoid about how thorough my cleaning would go, and how discomforting it may be. However, that was not the case. My hygienist was very thorough with the cleaning and did a great job of explaining what she was doing every step of the way. She was also very gentle which I was kind of shocked since I had been long overdue for a cleaning. Dr. Pham was very thorough with my care, I liked how up to date this office is. There is a large tv which he used to really go in depth regarding my care. He addressed my concerns, explained what was done at my appointment, and went through any potential problems that may arise in the future and how to prevent it from occurring. He also outlined the different areas that he focuses on, one of which is cosmetic care. He was able to saw down a minor chip I had, which I was very pleased with. I have been seeing Dr. Hieu since he opened his practice over a year ago. I'm surprised I haven't written a review yet. I moved to the area and was debating on flying back to see my dentist from California that I've been seeing since I was born or finding a new dentist in Portland. I decided to give Dr. Hieu a chance. I heard great things about him through mutual acquaintances. Although I'm still attached to my first dentist, Dr. Hieu and his staff have provided me with excellent patient centered care. They are very gentle and punctual. Parking is easy and they are located right off 205 and foster making it easy to get to and from the office. I was unsure of where to look for a new dentist but found Atlas Dental. Dr. Pham was very professional and made my visit great! The office is very modern and clean. Waiting area had snacks/water/coffee. The patient chair was heated/had massage capabilities, and had TVs built into the ceiling to watch while being taken care of. From the beautiful office, warm environment, caring staff to most importantly, a knowledgeable dentist. Moving to Portland from NYC, I've had my fair share of dentists (5 to be exact). Rough, fast and painful dentists. So it's almost a given that I assumed Atlas was the same. WRONG! All fears you have of dentist offices or your dentist poking you everywhere....let it go. Let's be honest here, the Dentist you go to is Great Value Brand. Atlas Dental is the Beyoncé of Dentistry. Now let me explain why: 1. When you walk in, the place is just a great energy to be in. With coffee, tea, juice, and your occasional snacks. You typically don't need to wait any longer than 5-10 minutes to be seen. You're immediately greeted by the front desk assistant Sophia who is incredible at making sure you're taken care of. Making sure that all your questions are answered any billing questions, anything. 2. The hospitality is out of this world. Atlas really wants you to feel at home. And the way they do this is by providing you with a TV that you can watch WHILE they're all in your mouth. (You get a cool pair of glasses too). Oh but wait, there's more. The chair you're sitting on just so happens to be a MASSAGE CHAIR! I thought I was at a dental office not the spa? 3. Everyone cares! It's almost funny to say that. But it's true. From Sereyneth who handles the nuts and bolts of the office, to Diane who's so thorough with my cleanings. It's wonderful to come to your dentist and be treated like family and not like a random patient. These things matter. 4. The knowledge!!!!!!! Okay if you're like me, you go to the dentist, they tell you to open your mouth, they do some things, leave, come back, do more things and then say bye. Not only do you NOT know what they're doing but you just have no communication or relationship with your dentist. Dr Hieu is the first and only dentist who EXPLAINS what is happening in your mouth, what caused it, and preventive measures. He explains everything in simple language allowing you to be informed to make better decisions. He will take a close look at your mouth and give you a rundown on what he thinks should happen. He breaks them down into 3 categories: emergency, preventative, cosmetic. His goal isn't to take your money. His goal is to inform you on what's an emergency and what is something if you're interested in doing, you can do. Which is so helpful. Okay but to add the cherry on top, the next day Dr Hieu PERSONALLY will text you to see how you're doing. Are you serious? He's a magical human being. All dentists need to be like him. 5. Paying it forward. On your first clean up they give you a QUIP TOOTHBRUSH! Ya'll, what dentist is giving you a toothbrush that isn't from the Dollar Tree? Okay but there's more!! Not only do you get a free Quip toothbrush, but they also give you an organic bamboo tooth brush. Why you ask? Because every toothbrush they give you, they're also donating one to a charity. Does your dentist give back to the community it serves? ..........Oh, I'll wait. 6. Lastly, circling back to knowledge. In the few times I've seen Dr Hieu for a check up, cavity filling or Invisalign treatment, every single time I'm being seen by him, he's always empowering his staff to grow and learn. From the moment I walked in until the minute I left, it was nothing but First Class Service! Starting with Sophia up front. The moment I walked in she knew who I was and greeted me with a fantastic smile and genuine enthusiasm. She inquired about all the necessary information but was never in a hurry to rush me in or out. I filled out the basic health info which took less than 6 minutes to complete on their tablet. Easy to follow and easy to use. I then waited for about 4 minutes before Diana invited me back to ask some basic questions and do the dental assistant duties. The cool thing about this office is that it's BRAND NEW and state of the art. They have a large TV screen on the wall directly in front of you that both the Dental Assistant and Doctor can walk and talk you through each step of each tooth so that you both can understand what each process entails. Also, there's a TV right above your head so when your having services done and your laying horizontally, you can watch whatever show you want to watch on Netflix! To top it all off, the dental chair you sit in, vibrates and gives you a massage while your getting examined! I've never felt more comfortable in a dentist office before until I came here! Dr. Hieu is first class, highly intelligent, able to break things down in Laymen's terms and offered multiple options for our dental plan moving forward. He is someone I would trust moving forward and someone I highly recommend seeing if your looking for a new dentist! I'm looking forward to my next visit because of how productive and how fantastic the service provided was! So I finally became an adult and found my own dentist, and made my own appointment. Yes, my mom has been making my appointments for the last 20 some odd years, but alas, I did the thing. And I couldn't recommend Dr. Pham more. Finding an appointment was easy! They do online booking, which makes everything a breeze. And they offer a couple later appointments as well as weekends which is always a plus for those of us who work. They send a couple reminders via email, text, and a personal call from the doctor himself. How awesome is that? The clinic itself is a really sweet space. Located right off of Woodstock, right as it merges from Foster. There's a parking lot between the apartment buildings, or street parking. Check in was easy and painless, might I mention that the Dr. Pham's wife checked me in and she was amazing! Now for the good stuff... the chairs are A M A Z I N G. Heated massage chairs?? Who does that?? This place that's where. Oh, and when you're in the chair, tilt your head up to the ceiling and you'll see a TV, fully loaded with Netflix. Dr. Pham himself cleaned my teeth and oddly enough, we had a great conversation despite fingers and tools in my mouth. Weird, right? And the dental hygiene kit you get? It comes with an awesome bamboo tooth brush. With every brush that goes home with a patient, one gets donated to someone in need. Now that's a cause I can get on board with.
