It was impossible to schedule appointments because the driving slots would never be updated. Whenever I called, I would be told to wait, but I waited for two weeks and nothing updated. I asked for a refund and I was asked if I wanted a different package instead, but I turned down because I had waited so long for another appointment to show up that I had enough time to pass my driving test. When I responded and asked for a refund instead of a different package, I had never received a response. Waste of time and money.

I came in with a love for art, but little knowledge in the technical aspects. Through Ichen's summer programs, I got to explore many different media including charcoal, oil painting, and digital. The academy's instructors are very well educated in the arts and provide a plethora of resources and materials to help me succeed. They provided guidance in composition, technique, color, etc. while motivating me to enter my art into competitions... ultimately which I won a few! Ryan, Ichen Art Academy's Artist in Residence, has provided me with fantastic support over the years. I got a perfect balance of instruction and freedom to allow for the full expression of my artistry. Her process begins with plein air watercolor studies in order to capture the atmospheric qualities of the light and color that draw her to a particular spot. Then, she takes several photographs of the area to use along with the watercolor sketch to begin the painting in her studio. Given her training as an Engineer, it is not surprising that she loves details, but she believes the focus of the painting can only come to life if the rest of the painting is void of unnecessary details. Along with light and color, these qualities help bring the essence of the painting into view. She also developed and teaches Art, Science & Nature Classes to 1st grade girls with the hope of inspiring them to see the connection science and nature with art projects to reinforce the science concepts. Travel and exploration generate inspiration for her work. She loves taking photographs of places she visits and has an eye for finding unique angles and perspectives of scenes and objects. She has hundreds of photos she's taken over the years and hopes that eventually she'll have the chance to paint them all. Lynn is currently a member of the Pleasanton Art League and serves as Programs Chair for the Livermore Art Association.
