My daughter took me to this store because she says it is the most unique store she has ever been…read morein. Now I know why. This antique store has 1,000's of items on sale. There are at least two, possibly three levels of items available. The main level had a lot of collectible items, dishes, silverware, books, comic books, etc. The basement had an entire library of books, clothes, tools and furniture. Even on the way to the bathroom and believe it or not in the bathroom there are paintings for sale. The employees are friendly and the prices rather cheap.

Well, I can say that I would definitely go back here again, if and whenever I might find myself in this neck of the woods. It's not next door for me, but we do occasionally find ourselves not too far from here. They sell quite a variety of spices and foods, soup mixes, baking needs, and of course housewares / home decorations. I could go crazy spending in here. We did pick up a jar of corn relish, which I tried out not long after getting home. I have to say it was pretty good! They also sell flavoured peanuts they call "chip nuts" (seems to be a local "Thing" around here, as they do have a bit of competition. OK by me! I love them!) Very surprised to read on this page that Coyle's has been around for so long - since 1899. More power to you! Shop Canadian. Wish we knew more about their history. We enjoyed our visit, and would definitely go back.

It offers both ready made and custom order furniture, rugs, tableware, wall decor, lighting, pillows and other decorative things. I love their selection. It's a nice store to wander about in with a West Elm or Crate and Barrel vibe. However, I have had some issues. Firstly in product reliability. I purchased a mid century modern lamp for over $400. When I got it home and assembled it one of the custom lamp shades had a large tear in it. Returned it. Lamp #2 assembled (not a fun or easy assembly FYI), worked for 1 week, then nothing. Seemed to be an issue with the wiring and twisting "on" switch. Returned again. Lamp #3 now having been assembled and in house with Hue lights to completely avoid on-switch issues. It looks great but I wait with baited breath for next issue. You expect this when its IKEA value products, but not higher end pieces. Also, I have had mixed customer service. My first visit I had a very helpful male sales associate who helped me plug in things in the store to try. And the returns above went smoothly with no hassle. But, I went with my mom who had purchased a rug and the manager gave her a hard time, spouted off a completely different "return policy" than what is posted at register and on receipt, and after a lot of arguing only gave her store credit. Which might be fine on a small purchase. This was not. She's basically now sitting on an $1000 gift certificate that she can't find anything there to use it on. So definitely a fun browse and a quick token purchase, but just be aware of potential issues with major purchases.

Fired Up Glass Arts is not just a store, it is an experience!…read more Warning: there is so much to look at that you need a good amount of time to take it all in so do not go when you are in a hurry. There is half a wall of frit, (so many colours, so many sizes!) and a whole wall of Bullseye glass in full or half sheets, rods, stringers and billets. One thing I find really useful is that they also stock everything in 10x10 inch pieces so you can try out new colours or combinations before you commit to the expense of a big sheet. There is a big window with lots of natural light and lots of room so you can take sheets out and hold them up to the light or lay them out next to different colours to plan your project. There are great sales at least a couple times a year, which have been great to expand my frit stash or try out colours or products I normally would not use. The owner, Jayne, is very friendly and helpful. She is always ready to answer any questions, give advice and assistance, but doesn't hover over your shoulder, and lets you take the time you need to browse. She also seems to know what every colour fires like and how they look when combined with other colours. Any time I have asked about what something looks like when fired, she has been able to show it to me in a test tile or sample piece. That has saved me a lot of time and money instead of having to find out by trial and error. I also find it inspiring whenever I go into the shop because Jayne is also an artist and runs classes, and workshops so there are always pieces in various states of completion to look at either from her own work or that of the students. I always come away with a new idea or a solution to a problem. The other big benefit of Fired Up Glass Arts for me is the drop-in studio times. In addition to formal courses and workshops, Jayne offers regular, weekly, drop-in, studio times where you can pay a fee to use the space, specialized equipment, slumping molds and get help or instruction if needed. I do a lot or my work at home but there is a lot of equipment that I cannot afford to purchase or do not have room for at home that I get to use during the studio times. It makes it feasible to do a lot of different fused articles without having to buy and store equipment that is seldom used but great to be able to access when you want to. This has been especially useful when I needed to do a large project that won't fit into my own small kiln at home. It is also a nice change to work with other people who share the same passion for glass that I do. I highly recommend Fired Up Glass Arts, but be warned, Bullseye glass can be addicting! Side effects include happiness and seeing rainbows.
